  1. Ahh, I think I saw you - I was in the orange fleece. We were just checking out a house, we're interested in a couple houses in Peel. Do you have the shiny WR Blue parked around the corner from where I was parked?
  2. Hi We came across on Thursday (still feeling seasick even now) & we're going back on Tuesday. It's a major house-hunt - looking at about 8 or 9 houses a day. We've now finished & are looking at 4x 2nd viewings on Monday. Nick
  3. Has anyone spotted me yet? WR1 with big Scooby in the back! I've seen quite a few Scoobs on the island & waved whenever I could - not a huge percentage of return waves though. [] If anyone saw me & I didn't wave - it's because I was lost! []
  4. Good, there's a very strong chance that I will drive off the ferry needing some petrol!
  5. Thanks Richard Where can I get Millers Octane Plus on the island?
  6. Thanks guys, any advice about petrol & octane booster?
  7. I'm certainly planning to pop in. When are you open, is it a petrol station or car repairs, what's the garage called? A general question about petrol. I've used Optimax from new in the Scoob & I will probably need a refill on the island. How do I get the right fuel? Do I buy regular or SUL & where do I get octane booster & how much do I put in?
  8. Thanks Richard We're coming over on a house hunting trip next week & I booked the Seacat because the timings fitted in well. I then got a cold shiver down my neck worrying about getting onboard! [:$] Regards Nick
  9. Hi Having already booked on the Seacat, I thought that I should check whether I'll actually fit up the ramp. Can anyone please confirm if I'll be OK? [:^)] The WR1 is standard. Edited to fix typos
  10. Interested in a higher offer?
  11. My offer no good? []
  12. Some great pics, I loved the pic of the Caterham & heat haze in the first post!
  13. It looks as though Michelin Pilot Sports are the way to go. Anyone tried these?
  14. That's interesting, thanks Andrew I'd heard some good things about the F1s, but also heard about some sidewall splitting probs, although that is probably on the non-XL models. Which tyres did you run previously? I've just sent a question to Mike Wood of Prodrive, he was talking about running 235/40x18 instead of 225/40x18, but there's some confusion whether they fit on a car earlier than 06my. Nick
  15. Moghrey mie! [] I'm due to replace my tyres in a week or so. What tyres would you recommend for the island's roads for a 04my WR1/STi with 18" wheels & Prodrive suspension? Tyre size is 225/40x18.
  16. STI Man There's not too many panda's around these days.... Richard I don't yet have anything specific to send to you from Paul at Safe Speed, although his web site is full of useful stuff. He is willing to help, but we need to design a campaign to counter the government's line, before the survey arrives. Any campaign needs a resident to head it, as you know the effect that someone from "across" would have on residents. Manx people need to understand the drip feed of speed policy changes that are likely to happen. A 40mph limit, soon turns into a 30mph limit, which is then extended to any road - even with one house near it. Road safety by sound bite will cause more accidents & increase agression on the roads. To make the roads safer we need better driver training & correctly maintained vehicles. My suggestion is that we enlist the help of every car & bike club on the island. Then form a campaign with the help & input from all clubs & advice from Safe Speed. Ooops... there's someone from "across" making suggestions again! [:$]
  17. I've been in contact with Paul Smith of Safe Speed (http://www.safespeed.org.uk/). I understand that he's been on Manx Radio before & regards it as an important issue. Is there a chance that we could organise a response to the government on this?
  18. Will do. I'll need directions & a phone number for when I get lost! []
  19. >NMN 555 I like that numberplate![] I'm aiming to come over again the end of April.
  20. From Manx radio: A major survey of public opinion is to be carried out in the Isle of Man on an issue which is certain to draw the strongest of responses. Every household is to be asked its views on whether an all-island, national speed limit should be introduced. It would mean the end of the Island's famous de-restricted routes. But according to its supporters a 60 miles-per-hour limit would cut the number of fatal accidents. The latest figures show that of the 39 people who died in road accidents here over the past three years, 30 lost their lives on roads with no limits. Transport Minister Phil Braidwood says although some TT visitors will be disappointed - his priority must be year-round public safety. Is there any organised response to this?
  21. Email sent.
  22. The email link just sends an email - it's the PM link that's odd. I've never seen a board with no PM control panel before! I replied to your email, but the email went back to privatemessages @sidc. co. uk (spaces put in to stop harvesting).
  23. I replied to your email - nothing back though. [:^)]
  24. WOOSH! Right over my head with that one! []
  25. Thanks for the link Dave. []
