It's a mixed feeling. I am glad that the car made some good gains in torque but it is a little disappointing in terms of bhp. Never mind she is safe. Dave

Howdy Everyone, I have just got back from Wallace Performance having had my Tek3 custom map tweeked for the parts that Wuz managed to install for me last week. The new additions were: 1. Prodrive Sports Downpipe (high flow cat) - wrapped, 2. H&S Decat Centre Section (to remove the second cat), 3. Walbro 255 Fuel Pump. Firstly Wuz did a fantastic job of installing all the parts on the car last week - and fitting me in considering the latest addition to the Hulme household. Thanks for all your help Russ you did a top job. Big thanks to Russ at Wallace Performance for fitting me in this week for the mapping session. He took the time to go through all the changes that were being made to the car and explain them. Ta for filling the oil up and letting me sit in on the mapping session. A couple of things to note on the graphs are that the waste gate duty cycles were changed and so the advance multiplier was reset to 8 - meaning for the runs the timing was not as advanced as it could have been and so the power and torque are slightly down on what they will be after the ecu has re-learnt. Also the loading was different on the torque run hence the reason she appears to come in latter than the previous map - not the case though. Plus she was running 97ron super unleaded fuel so there is more to come from her there aswell She pulls fantastically from 3300rpm all the way through to redline. Power = 315 bhp, up 16bhp on the last stage. Torque = 322 ft.lbs, up 36ft.lbs on the last stage. This is down on what I had expected but the map is very safe, the fuelling is spot on and the boost spiking/fluctuating in 5th and 6th is dramatically reduced. All in all the gain in torque is great and the car drives really well. Power Curve Torque Curve Dyno Run Movie with Star Guest...... Click here to watch Wallace-Performance-Mapping-Session

Yeah I know and that would be the tricky thing - but you could break it up into categories. Like breathing mods (panel filters and exhausts), remaps (Tek3 for example and CAI), and crazy beggars like yourself (turbo mods, headers, etc) - each with their own associated cost. Probably more hassle than its worth I grant you but it would be nice to know your car is still covered. Oh another thing could be discounted driving days at Knockhill with proper scooby tuition - sponsered by T&C Aberdeen and Subaru UK. Oh and what about 1 year "free" paid membership to SIDC with all new car purchases???????? Dave

Howdy my man, Good effort for taking the time to organise this. You kept this one close to your chest yesterday. Apart from the SIDC discounts, marquee, tax disc holders, fliers, stickers, etc the only thing I can think of is for T&C Subaru Aberdeen to put on a big display at the next Alford day with discounts on the day (cars and PPP's) and maybe some passenger laps in a new MY06. It will just be a case of seeing how much you can get I suppose. Is there anyway they could offer top-up warantees for people with modified engines - in other words paying a little bit extra during the 3 year period so that your modified engine is covered. I know it depends on how crazy people go but for the normal mods........? Dave

Howdy chaps, Just had the pleasure of a passenger ride in the Blue Thunder. First thing to note is Craig you are a headcase, but more importantly the car is superb. It seems that BHP Developments and Andy F have worked their magic on the car and created a MONSTER. I have to admit I was surprised at how progressive the power delivery is - I was expecting a monumental kick in the back but it pulls so smoothly it was un-nerving as first. The car pulls so cleanly in all gears and to say it is strong is a BIG understatement. This car has the potential to make a fool out of very expensive/exotic cars. And having said that the car retains all of the standard car's around town driveability and road manners - apart from the rather firm ride of the teins. Craig the motor has a crackin spec sheet now and you should be rightly chuffed with her performance. The metallic rasp of the exhaust notifies crazy passengers of the impending right-foot "DOOM" about to be unleashed. However the noise subsides at higher revs and is not intrusive inside the cabin. And Craigs latest purchase will add another fruity addition to the soundtrack. Now the question is will he be satisfied with the car now? Answers on a postcard to "Mac'ing Nutter". It's only a matter of time me thinks. A well balanced car that is insanely quick and can scare the most hardened scooby fan. Just remember to take the Pampers Ultra Dry. Dave

Thought you would be! dave

What a bunch of plonkers............if he stopped atacking every corner and started flowing between them one his time would come down and two the car won't need as much work to fix. -
Ta Phil - you managed to get all the grass and mud off your wheels and brakes alright? I remember thinking he's going a bit quickly for the corner..........ooops! Was a good day though. Dave
-
Ta for the nice comments guys. This was just the footage that I managed to shoot so sorry if there aren't that many classic scoobs. I missed Phil making an unplanned exit onto the grass and was leaving as Wuz was signing up for the track. Hope you liked it though - it kept me amused for 20mins doing it. Dave

Here is a short video that I put together from all the stuff I shot on the day. Hope you guys and girls like it........... Click here to watch SIDC-Scottish-National-Day Dave

Sounds good guys - you must be rather pleased with your results today. I'll be back on dry land on Monday and then I'll be badgering Russ for my mods and a few extra ponies - fingers crossed. There should be some passenger runs next week at work me thinks.................... Dave

Run from Aberdeen to Scottish National SIDC day @ Alford
clutdav replied to kloon's topic in Scottish Scoobies
Which way are you guys planning on going to get out to Alford? I am out in Blackburn so it doesn't make sense to come all the way in to then have to turn around. Would there be anywhere I could meet you guys on the way - apart from Alford before some smart ass suggests it. Dave -
If you're up for it Craig I may be able to split the delivery cost with ya if you want to purchase some SIDC clothing. Dave Gutted the 3/4 Pink lady's one is discontinued as I was woanting to get that for the MRS.

Sounds like a good idea, if I am around that is. Dave
