  1. Marc, Car's looking really smart - just not as fast as crystal grey............... I was wondering what splitter you have on your motor and also if you had any problems removing the orange reflector from your headlights. Do they fog up afterwards? I am looking forward to seeing all your pictures and the car in the flesh at some point. So what have you done to the car so far????? Dave
  2. Oh my that car is rather nice. Not too sure on the rear wing though - a little too stuck-on for my liking but the splitter looks good doesn't it! If I did go for a splitter I don't know if I would get the colour-coded one or the carbon fibre one?????????? Hmmmmm...................ideas are dangerous to the bank balance. Dave
  3. That looks really good - I will have to think about that seriously. I am not too sure about the splitter idea as my scooby is lowered and having the splitter on may make it too low.................it would look good though. Dave
  4. << David, How about getting the front headlights de-tango'd? I got mine done a couple of weeks ago, and in my opinion it makes quite a difference to the front end. Jamie (H15OOB) done mine, took him approx. 2 hours. Not 100% positive on this one, but how about a very slight window tint all round too? Not too dark though, i don't think your colour of car would suit it. Just my thought!! >> Do you have a picture of the headlights de-tango'd? I take it it is just a case of putting Silvertec bulbs in is it? Not too sure about the window tints as the cops may have something to say about having the front windows tinted. Although it would look good with light smoke all the way around. Ta for the hints. Anymore? Dave
  5. Thanks guys. If anyone has any other ideas for the motor I would like to hear them as I have run out (for the time being). The wifee would kill me if she knew. Hee hee.
  6. << THIS may be helpful too >> Ta mate. Dave
  7. That is as clear as mud - but I get the idea. Thanks for that, i'll try doing it next time. Dave
  8. << A wee edit with the pics displayed - hope no-one minds, i find it easier to see all the pics on one screen P.S. Cracking-looking motor mate >> Thanks for that - could you tell me how you managed to include the pics in the actual text? I have only been able to add them as attachments to date!! Dave
  9. Thanks for the positive comments. I think that the dark anthracite PFF-7's really go well with the new colour (crystal grey), so all I did was make sure that the colour scheme keep going with all the other mods. Ta Dave
  10. Just a little update, as I now have most of the parts on the Scooby that I had originally planned. I have to say that I absolutely love the car and would recommend one to anyone that can afford to run them. The power delivery is effortless compared to my previous car (CTR), as I am sure Cal will appreciate, and especially with the prodrive springs on now the handling is fantastic. Here is a little list of the mods so far.................. ?05 STi UK Version 9 in Crystal Grey 1. Prodrive PFF-7 Alloys with 225/40/18 Pirelli P Zero Nero?s, 2. Prodrive Lowering Springs (-20mm) and 4 Wheel Laser Alignment, 3. Prodrive Stainless Steel Mesh Grill Set, 4. Magnex 5" Japanese Full Cat Back System, 5. Scot Lowe STi Mud Flaps (Pink on Black), 6. Pioneer AVH-P6500DVD Monitor, 7. Pioneer CD-IB100 Ipod Adapter. But this all means nothing without pictures??????so what do you think? Dave
  11. I'll be there. I have just got all my bits fitted so I don't really need an excuse to go out driving tonight - I'll just do it! Dave
  12. Looks like it was a good day - quality pics Dave
  13. Fingers crossed I will be able to make it along. WHat sort of format do the meets usually take? Dave
  14. << Dave Here's a link to the scoobyworld page with the SECS unit on it. I dont have one myself tho. oobster >> Thanks for that I'll take a look. Dave
  15. << Up here in Scotland Optimax and Ultimate is the exact same Fuel also it is the exact same additive now to make everything legal and for SHell to be able to sell it as a different product Less additive is added to Shell. Now you can all come back with you own opinions on this one but trust me this is fact. >> I work for Shell and my father works for BP, and I'm not sure your statement about the fuels being identical is actually correct. Yes both fuels have a cleaning additive added to them - but I think you are missing the point that BP Ultimate Unleaded has a RON rating of 97, and Shell Optimax has a RON rating of 98. Now, originally Ultimate was supposed to be a high performance fuel and was to be released as a 99-100RON fuel. However, at the last minute BP changed their minds and basically released it as a Super Unleaded replacement. Dave
  16. << Dave it is only the STi 7 that doesn't have the bumper cut out. The MY03 STi and your MY05 STi are the same. Not sure if there is anything but I'm sure I have seen some. PS Hope your not going for teh Max Power look >> Ha ha - no chance. Why spoil a good looking car? THe only bits i have got planned are:- Refitting my Flip Out In-Dash TV Headunit - already fitted..... STi Mud Flaps (Black with PINK STi badges) - already fitted..... Prodrive P-FF7 Alloys with Pirelli P Zero Nero 225/40/18's - being fitted today...... A full exhaust system - not sure what one to go for..... Lowering Springs - Tein???..... And MAYBE some rear lights - depends on if I find any I like the look of..... What do you think then? Definitely NOT maxpower, I hope you agree........ Dave
  17. << << Hey guys, I really like the idea of having this diagnostics tool in the car - however I really dislike having bits and pieces stuck to the inside of the car that don't look standard. Now I realise that my opinion will be different to a lot of people, I just don't like "stuck-on bits". Is anyone aware of something like this R-Vit that plugs into the AV line of an indash monitor as the display output. I would really be interested to know. It would be very much appreciated. Dave >> have you thought about the SECS ecu data monitor, got mine from scoobyworld with housing, looks like it is actually factory fitted >> Do you have any pictures of the unit fitted? I would be interested to see what the finished article looks like. Thanks Dave
  18. Does anyone know if there are any after market rear lights available for the 05 STi9? I have been unable to find any, as they seem to all be for the STi7&8 which don't have the bumper cut out section for the base of the brake light. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Dave

  20. I am up in Aberdeen - I work for the same company as Cal (whom I knew from my Civic Type R days). Dave
  21. Well according to the Mrs it will have to. Although I must confess to looking at prodrive lowering springs and exhausts. If anyone has any recommendations regarding good exhausts, please let me know............... The wife will kill me if she finds out. Dave
  22. THanks mate, from what I have seen so far it looks like a good forum. Dave
  23. Howdy everyone, AS you can tell from my post count I am a newbie here on this forum. I just thought that I should introduce myself as I have had my STi (Version 9) now for a few weeks without posting on this board. Some of you may now me from the Civic Type R forums, as I used to have a Type R before changing out to the scooby. I have to admit to being very happy with the car - although this hasn't stopped me putting some bits and pieces on her. So far... 1 x Crystal Grey Subaru Impreza WRX STi Uk Version 9, 1 x Flip Out TV Monitor Headunit (Pioneer) from the Type R, - being fitted today. 4 x Genuine STi Mud Flaps - front and back (Black with Pink STi badging), - still waiting on delivery. 4 x Genuine Prodrive P-FF7 Flow Forged Alloys (Anthracite) with Pirelli P Zero Nero 225/40/18 tyres - being fitted tomorrow. THis little lot should keep me amused for quite a while - or so the wife hopes. And I love the new colour........... Here are a couple of pictures I took when I first got her, sorry for the poor quality I have had to cut them down from 2.5mb to under 200k. I'll post some more when all the mods have gone on - which hopefully won't be long. Dave
  24. Hello guys. Having just read this thread I am now really p*ssed off. The reason being I am stuck offshore for 3 weeks and I won't be able to join you guys with my new toy. I managed to drive her for all of 8 days before putting her in the garage until I return. It would have been great fun blasting the Sti up the strip. Anyway, make sure you take loads of pictures and vids and post them on the various forums. Have fun guys. Dave
