Ok guys here is the proposed days for mapping the cars, this may change depending on peoples commitments etc but it's a starter for 10. So if you would like a different day let me know, once everyone is happy we can then look at rough times for Andy taking your cars out to map.

Cal, did you ever find out why your Sidelghts wouldn't go off after Russell fitted your Defi's?

Graeme your best bet is to sell all the parts and put back to standard then flog it, rough guide price is £14k for 05, if yours is a 55 then a little bit more. Selling a car with all the mods on is just not worth it.

Just wish I knew you were going to sell as I have basically just bought the exact same mods going on my car. If you do decide to strip it back to standard I'd take the Defis off you

Kinda jumping on this topic.

Out of curiosity guys. I know I have missed this slot for getting Andy F, but I dont have much knowledge in the remapping of the Imprezas. I have had a couple of Sport versions in the past and played about with the handling.

I currenlty have a 2.5WRX 56 plate, "hawkeye" wagon but was just wondering what I could (or more Andy F) could get out of it?

Current mods are,

1. Have removed 3rd cat.

2. A moto GP silencer delete air intake is currently enroute from USA

3. Pipercross replacement filter installed

4. Cat back s/s exhaust system (2 1/2")

5. Will prob look at getting the silicone "Y" hose in very near future.

Any ideas or comments if a remap is worthwhile soon or should I look at getting a few other bits first?

Hi Smiler, all depends on how much power you are looking for and how much money you want to spend.

A good start would be to change the fuel pump (Walbro), colder spark plugs (NGK) and a downpipe (either decatted or sports cat) and get the car remapped by the hand of God (AndyF)

After this you are talking a lot more money headers, turbo, uprated internal, FMIC .................

Either Japerformance or a wee run down to Dastek.

Probably the latter.

Come on Dunc, Russ is a really good guy and has given us a good deal. Lets all make an effort to get together.

I would advise caution to anyone doing a 'before' run, particularly if you have changed parts that justify a remap. Rolling road loadings can be in excess of those experienced on the road and as a result the figures can appear quite impressive but the safety margins may be non existent.

For the best 'after' figure then I recommend you get your car tuned on the rollers. I have never targeted peak figures, the widest possible power band under live road driving conditions is my priority.

Thanks Andy, maybe I should have explained it better, the before run will be as the car runs at the moment prior to any new modifications going on.

Also understand what you're saying about how you map the cars, I think your quality of work speaks for itself. I'm only interested in seeing what I have gained as I don't have a target in mind. It's also a good excuse to get away from the other halfs and have a bit of banter.

Folks as there are a few of us getting our cars mapped soon by AndyF up here, Russ at Wallace Performance has come up with a cracking offer which is open to everyone.

£50 to get a before and after run on the rollers, this is basically half price as Russ will do 2 runs for each visit. Possibly looking at an evening session in the next 2 weeks or next weekend (3/4 November) with a return date to be decided.

If you interested just stick you name down on the list and your preference as to date.

Try that titanium set i have on or around the workbench in the "office" - they have a longer taper and you can use them until you find what you need elsewhere?

DON'T put the standard wheels nuts as they don't fit correctly....you will need to get after market wheels nut that has a longer taper on the nut.

I have bought a set of these for my MY07 STi, can you use the standard wheel nuts with these. I know there is someone on here that just got a set of these for their Blobeye but can't remember who it was.

Hey Dude. I just took my mate out to pick up his alloys from Keith at Pps, they made a really good job... Look brand new. They only charge £40 a wheel too.
