Feel for you mate, insurance is a pain in the a$$. Even if you didn't claim on your insurance but had told them about the accident they have a note of it and you will have to declare it every year for 5 years
So make sure that is the route you want to go before telling them.
Good luck

No shock they shut up shop, tried to buy a R34 from them a couple of years ago. The total lack of interest from them was unbelievable

nice to see back...haven't heard from you for ages?
How is your lovely car?
Not really been up to much apart from busy at work, I've been following your development on the car with interest. I must say I would love to go for the Pennine block, it looks like it can handle some serious abuse. I'll try and make it down to Knockhill soon so hopefully you'll be there.
My car is running well, apart from getting my wheels powder coated white which is a nightmare to keep clean so I think I'll be getting them done again in anthracite.
Also I can't decide what to do next engine wise, so it's either a case of uprate the old chocolate pistons on the 2.5 etc or just replace the whole block for something more bullet proof. Would be worth having a bleather with you sometime to see what your thoughts are.
Will catch up with you sometime soon.
Take Care

Waste of money, may as well put the money in the bank in the event of any issues. If you think Subaru are bad Porsche wanted £900 a year to extend the warranty on our Boxster
(Only get 2 year warranty with a Porsche)
-
Chris long time mate, you still running around in an ST?
Still chuckle to myself about the Gumball 'Special' Foglight Cover.
I also see you haven't lost the gift of the gab

Fuel cosumption is better on the Caymen too, so there must be a difference in the engine or something, if your getting the same performance.
Fuel consumption is exactly the same for both models, Caymen and Boxster are basically the same car bar the body. They used to have different engines, Boxster S had the 3.2 but now has the same 3.4 as the Caymen S.
Either way both great cars.
-
Davie, my opinion would be to go with the Caymen.
The market is flooded with Boxster's and considering the way the market is becuase of running costs, you'll likely pick up a cracker of a Caymen for good money.
I'd have to disagree, I don't see the point of paying extra for less. Any other model you pay more for the Convertible but Porsche charge you more for the tin top? Also don't like some of the things that they do on the Caymen like putting the Bose Subwoofer in the passenger footwell.
-
Porche?
are they the cars that we see in our rear view mirrors?
No, that would be Porsche
-
Hi Davie, my other half bought a new 2.7 Boxster just over 2 years ago, cost was about £39k.
The car is fantastic, the handling is amazing and although it may not have the poke of my STi it would not be too far behind on a run. Obviously the quality of the interior is excellent and we have had no problems at all.
We will be trading it in next year (3 years old) as the 4 year service is close to £1k. We never bothered to extend the warranty either as it was £900 and we have only covered 9k miles.
If you decide to go for one don't go over the top with extras, as you will not get your money back for them.
Off the top of my head this is what we went for:
19" Alloys (Bought Direct from dealer so we also have the standard 17")
Sports Steering Wheel
Bose Stereo
Wind Deflector
Leather Sports seats

Cal
Sorry Cal it will take a lot more than some rims and lowered suspension to make that ugly duckling worth a second glance.
Hawkeye all the way brother

I got some in Great Northern road Near the Haudigan roundabout just the night before last... No problems...
Made the mistake of driving up there on Tuesday night only to be met by the guy closing the pumps as they were out of fuel
Finally got filled up at King Street about an hour ago

I think you'll find that V-Power won't run out as we are all too sensible to go out and start panic buying, and lets face it a tank only lasts 200 odd miles anyway

The sti is booked in next week for its 1 year service & was told it needed a body inspection service as well, is this really needed as it hasn't done 8K yet & has little or no stone chips ? Is it just a money maker for T & C ?
cheers Mark
Mark had mine serviced and nothing mentioned about this at all. In fact I've never had a body inspection done at a dealer and that is with 4 new Scoobs over 8 years

Cal I'll give you a shot of my car just to remind you what a real Scoob is all about
Now stop your moaning and get some choice mods and a remap from Andy.
-
Cayman is a fantastic car, the handling is brilliant and the brakes are awesome, as you say a well sorted WRX would give it a go.
We have a Boxster and I love driving it, however if I want to drive fast then I jump back in the STi
-
White Hawkeye looks so much better.

Great read m8

Just wondered why Mark Viduka was with u tho

RB 320?
Dunk better modifying an STi

Where / who does powder coating and how much is it? How long does it take?
Lots of companies do it, best to speak to local guys to find out who they use.
For a set of calipers I would say about £30-40 and it should only take a couple of days.

£31.5k for 330PS, Subaru are having a laugh. Whoever pays that needs their head examined.
