  1. I'd powdercoat instead of painting and probably just as cheap. IMO painting most often tends to look like someones tried to paint them. Powdercoating makes them look original and you can get whatever colour you want.

There's very little involved in stripping the calipers down and rebuilding plus you've given the calipers a mini overhaul/check that all's well in this area before refitting and bleeding the brakes again.

Good point Alan, I guess if you wanted to put stickers back on you could stick them on before the lacquer is applied.

I'm so tempted to get my brembos done the same as Frayz did his.

  2. Had my Hawkeye for just over a year and my Scott Lowe Splitter is still in perfect nick, I've got Prodrive Springs fitted and run 18" OZ Ultraleggeras.

Sounds like you would be better to go without it if you are worried about damaging it. Better safe than sorry. I know where I can and can't go in my car locally, so if I need to use some of the not so splitter friendly car parks I just take her indoors car :D

  3. Theres one in Aberdeen that sits in the central reservation... and when you go past it, it would appear to be facing you... (wrong direction)

Dont know if Ive ever seen that one going off... (it is a Gatso)

Havnen't seen any truvelo cameras in Scotland, not to say there arn't any, I've just not seen any.... and only seen a few in England...

Have seen a few Specs systems though (average speed), thankfullly the ones is Scotland have only been temporary... theres a few on the M6 and I forget the road, but not far from Barnsley, theres miles and miles of Specs...

Dale that camera definitely works, mate of mine got done because he is a donkey :D

Basically he drove to work and the camera was pointing one way so on the way home he nailed it past thinking the camera would still be pointing the same way as the morning, unlucky for him they must have changed it during the day, so he got a little present in the post a couple of days later.

He wont be making that mistake again :D

  4. Hello Folk's

Can anyone tell me if you can get done when flashed by a fixed camera from the opposite side of the road. Seemed to have managed trigger the camera near me whilst driving over the speed limit ( nooooooooo never). No markings on my side?.

    Cheers Kev

No danger, you can trigger them to go off but they cannot get you.

  5. Past a WR Blue MY08 STi on my way home from Inverness on Monday, looked totally bland and the other half commented how boring it looked.

Then just to make things worse I watched 5th Gear, how crap does it look without fog lights :D Just a big boring black plastic front end, I'll be keeping my money and spending it on my Hawkeye.

  6. Cheers everyone, had a great weekend up in Inverness. The hotel was fantastic as was the food, ended up filling the car at Keith on the way up but actually drove straight past the Shell garage on the way to the hotel :brickwall:

I was actually surprised at how good the roads were on the way up, we were originally going to take the Porsche but looked at the forecast and took the scoob instead. It wasn't until we drove back to Aberdeen on Monday that there was any snow on the roads and that was after Keith.

So all in all a good time up north :D

  9. someone called?

as Dale said, one in elgin, nairn and inverness- the one in inverness is at the raigmore interchange just past the hospital, not the easiest to find but as you head into inverness from the a96/a9 roundabout take the first exit at the next roundabout just after an esso and follow the road up. worth noting theres no 99 at tesco up with us either, swines!

Perfect Dave, thanks for that. Keep a look out for me, I'll be in a white MY07 STi.

    Cheers

    Marc
