  1. I'm looking forward to 11 days of sitting around, doing bugger all, getting even fatter and somedays i might not even bother getting changed out of my jammies!!!
  2. if your into looking at pics of expensive cars that are wrecked, go to http://www.wreckedexotics.com/
  3. Indeed! P.S. 103 views in 6 hours, and only 4 folk felt the need to respond? C'Mon folks!
  4. << Hope you get it sorted - I can hear Dawn saying "You should have just left it Standard - that's the way it's supposed to be" - that's what most of us would get!!! Brian >> I am fortunate in that Dawn is not known for her nagging - she let's me prattle on for ages, sighes, and continues what she's doing. I doubt i'll have much luck the morra, but maybe the bodyshop manager might get his nazzles 2nite & he'll be in a good mood the morra!!!
  5. John - keep it & use it - never seen it "in the flesh" but the pics show it's a minter!
  6. Wouldn't mind if you PM'd me their number + location! Cheers
  7. << yep this splitter fits all series 3 bumpers & its a 3rd of the price ov the scott lowe 1. >> This it?
  8. Looking very nice Peter, very nice indeed. Just my opinion - but would look even better with a set of Scott Lowe's finest on each corner as well.
  9. << Very nice indeed Peter! The splitter that Gav is talking about is shown in the Subaru UK website under the accessories section and listed for STi upto 2005. You dont need the part number to search for it! but the part number is listed when you open the image. The part normally sells for £365 notes me thinks. There is an image showing it in standard black finish on a blobeye blue STi. Have a look!!! Might get one myself as I have the STi corner thingys fitted so would go straight on. Gus >> Gus - i can't find it either. But i did find a pic on NASOIC earlier of that part number, and you'd need to remove your corner-things to fit this over the top of it.
  10. cheers folks. The thing is, the bloke i deal with is the bodyshop manager. And i always pay him cash - i assume he gives me a good price for cash, and i also assume he pockets it. Now that doesn't mean I dont want a proper job done, a thing I have had clear to him a couple of times in the past. If he does the tape test and it's fine, then tells me to walk I won't be going back, i'll need to search around for another local bodyshop. Thats what makes me so mad - i'm doing him a favour paying cash. I could walk in & ask for a proper written quote, with the price including VAT etc then pay by credit card if i wanted to. That way i'd have a receipt to wave in someones face if things go t*ts up. But now all i can do is threaten to tell his gaffer (the bodyshop is part of a main-dealer chain, not subaru though) which I won't do as this will just result in an absolutely guaranteed bodge-job. If he prefers cash then why won't he do a proper job!!!! Rant mode off.
  11. Ladies & gents, your views and opinions are requested on the following: As most of you know, I have fitted the front bumper "aero skirts" off an STi onto my car. These parts come from Subaru already painted, but they only come in STi colours. Since you dont get a Red STI new-age, i got S&S to order me a white pair, which I then got a local bodyshop (nameless at the moment) to colour-code them for me. Now yesterday (sunday) i gave the car a right good wash & noticed that the new bits are quite badly stone-chipped. The original white is showing through very clearly. The surrounding bumper is not stone-chipped at all. I took the car along to the bodyshop that colour-coded them this morning & the manager has asked me to go back tomorrow morning when he will perform a tape test - basically involves attaching tape over the painted area and ripping it back off again - if paint comes off with the tape then this means the paint hasn't adhered properly when he done the job originally. BUT he said if the tape test shows the paint is sticking fine onto the plastic, he isn't willing to re-do the work at his cost. The fact that the surrounding bumper isn't stone-chipped leads me to believe that there can only be a proplem with the way these aero parts were painted. Am i right to come to this conclusion? If, after the tape test, he refuses to re-paint them properly, can anyone recommend a place local to me that can do the work properly, and fairly quickly too (i.e. this week if poss). I can remove them off the car within about 20 mins if neccessary. All opinions & advice appreciated Thanks Andy

  13. Aye i'll probably go to that billy but not with the scoob - last time i had it on show it get dented (by a ned member of the public no doubt) but dont want to take the chance again. Get yours on the stand?
  14. << you know gumball - he's probably named the title something random thats got nowt to do with the content! You have him well sussed! >> Ah but that's part of his appeal, in a totally non-homosexual way of course. The forum has been a bit quiet the last couple of weeks - i've been forced to browse SNet during the day when i should be working. That's when SNet is actually up-and-running of course.
  15. Craig..... gumball even posted pics up, he done this outside peter's house (fai17) if i recall correctly. You could try searching thru the forum, but you know gumball - he's probably named the title something random thats got nowt to do with the content! I'm sure he'll be along shortly to tell you the in's & out's.
  16. Craig - dont know what the bodyshop used to remove them, but they are just held on with that sticky thin foam stuff. Gumball did his on his own, maybe some sort of plastic spatula thing so as not to mark the paint? Gus - no, it wasn't Stevie, it was another bloke. The same guy that painted my STi "aero skirts" on the front bumper. The very same parts that I just noticed today are all stone-chipped to buggery, so I shall be going back to see him tomorrow. St3ph3n - the car is now manky again. I washed & chamois-dried it at lunchtime, used a bit of autosol on the tailpipe then dressed the tyres with armorall, then nipped to a nearby industrial estate to take the pics. By the time i got back (2 mile round trip max) the car was mucky again. Ah well, roll on summer. Gumball - i'd love to get my car featured somewhere, but unfortunately that bloke with the other red blobeye thats kicking about at the moment (muddy) always manages to get in there before me. Can't complain though, his is 100 times smarter than mine. Maybe one day it will appear in a magazine somewhere, tucked away in the background. Al - cheers bud, i didnt even notice the back ones were squint until you pointed it out. Got it jacked up last weekend, wheels off and got them straightened. Fingers almost fell off with the cold! To all others - cheers for the comments. The only other mod i have planned (and have budget approval for) is a Scott Lowe TRU front splitter. But i'll wait until the spring.
  17. Ah! Every day is a school day. You learn something new every day on here!
  18. na, not unless you replace the drivers seat - it's bound to minging, every time you've filled your calvin klein's on it
  19. whats a "blockjob" then? Is that a euphimism?
  20. I'm just in awe of any of you lot who do all these mods to the engine. I wouldnt even have a clue where to start. For me, my car is about how it looks more than how it performs. Sure, the performance is handy when you need it but I get a lot of pleasure standing back looking at my car once it's all clean & polished. I know that i'm probably in the minority, when i read all the folks in here who go for remaps, front-mounts etc but thats what keeps me happy. Although - i have never "had a shot" of someone else's heavily-modified car, so perhaps if that was to happen i might be forced to make a wee appointment with Andy F!! Any takers?
  21. Decided to get a bodyshop to do it for me, as i'd probably have ended up scratching the paintwork. Cost me 20 notes. It was pi$hin down when i took these pics.
  22. my preference would be black on a silver car, but if you are really limiting yourself to red and blue, i'd go for the blue.
