So Dave, have you got the clutch in now and boost wound up to 1.4bar? Looky what santa brought to me early: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...N:IT&ih=014 Picked it up last Friday and drove 300 miles home. Needs some tidying up but should be good cheap fun. Getting a few bits for it already.

More pics and video added to website. Videos now include Bray Hill start (practice) 2007 and coming into Granstand in 2006.

Nothing at the moment I just want to to free up some cash to get my house finished! Sorry to hear you wrote off the P1 at the weekend - I hope you are ok.

I sold my 440 injectors some time ago - the nissan 200sx boys are always on the look out for them. I did have a set of 850s, but settled on the 720s as the spray pattern of the 850s was not as good. My engine was not a bought unit - it was built to an agreed spec by Steve Guirey (SMG) over almost a year and many many telephone conversations with him. Steve is now squeezing around 1,000bhp out of his 2.5 litre and running low 9 second quarter miles! The last time I spoke to him he had just put his car on Surrey Rolling road for mapping and got 850bhp at 1.4bar before he blew the headers off. His car now runs 2bar with a 50bhp nitros shot (which can be upped to 150bhp shot). My engine is very similar spec to one of his old ones, just with some better bits and is easily capable of sustaining over 550bhp, just needing a bigger turbo and remap to achieve this (oh and stronger gearbox)!

It's time for her to go. Some of you will know this car and it is one of the quickest, if not the quickest on the Island. Won the Manx vs Visitors Jurby Straightliners event last year posting a 12.3 second quarter mile @ 122mph. That was on the old turbo and road tyres. This should easily pull mid/low 11's now. The new turbo flows so much more air, especially at the top end where the old one struggled. To give you an idea, Bray Hill 2006 it pulled around 135mph whereas this year it hit the rev limiter in 5th 3 times before braking (thats around 155mph). Also took overall victory in the Manx Classic 3 Hills in April this year beating Mr Dangerfield in his Caterham R500. http://www.felikz.co.uk/subaru/ http://www.pistonheads.co.uk/sales/235362.htm http://www.aetturbosonline.com/may_news_2007.htm 0-60mph comes in around 3.5 seconds and power to weight ratio is around 376bhp/ton

Scott Trimble me thinks.

Dave Give us a shout if you need help with the manifold - it is a horrible job, but mine has been on and off more than once! Regards Andrew

Looking good there Dave!!
-
Just been up to yours and bought 2 copies
-
Hi Richard I was interviewed by the reporter commissioned by Motorsport News and he told me on Tuesday it was going in. Where did you get your copy from? I am told there will be a bigger article in Autosport next week. Kind regards Andrew
-
The Audi was quick - Richard only just got it finished in time and the data log estimated power between 550 - 600bhp. I beat it by about 0.5sec on bray hill, 1sec on Sloc and 1 sec on Lhergy Frissell. Quick, but not quick enough! When you do the maths, at 423bhp my Scoob = around 370bhp/ton and the Audi at say 575bhp = around 360bhp/ton.

Thanks Dave. Yeah, yeah! My front plate is perfectly legal as I proved to the police when I took the regulations and a tape measure up to Douglas Police Headquarters!
-
Thanks Graeme We should look at modding the Warrior!
-
The Subaru of course!!
-
Excellent pics. I actually won the overall tropy - took 1st on Bray Hill, 2nd on Sloc (Paul Dangerfield beat me by 2/100ths second in the Caterham R500) and 2nd on Lhergy Frissell (Paul beat me by about 3/10ths second). On amalagamated time I won the entire event! Never did I expect that for my first real competitive event! Kind regards Andrew

A few bits that are for sale due to the next step to 500bhp and will be available in a week or so - all parts have covered approximately 3,000 miles: Walboro 255l/hr fuel pump £60 FSE fuel pressure regulator £30 Samco silicon turbo inlet hose (blue) £100 3 Port boost solenoid together with hoses £30 I also have an Apexi AVCR electronic boost controller for sale - surplus to requirements. Brand new in box - offers around £250. Kind regards Andrew
-
Dave - do you know what the Momo code/part number was for your boss kit? I'm struggling to find a Momo boss for Subarus fitted with an airbag. Are you ready to buy/part exchange my interior yet? Kind regards Andrew

The new turbo spec (hybrid based on a GT30) will easily do 530bhp with nice spool up - similar spec to Mikee Singh's turbo and his engine was a 2.2 with same cams and almost identical spec, whereas mine is 2.33. Torque will be over the 500 lb/ft mark. All figures have been proven on Mikee's car. I was hoping to get it all sorted for the 3 hills in April, but not so sure now. PPG straight cut dog gear kit will be added with new turbo to stop gearbox being destroyed and I'll add an electric oil pump and oil cooler to the box. Perspex is a bit too extreme at the moment, but you never know where these things lead.............! Original seats are for sale if you know anyone interested - they are like brand new, having only covered 25,000 miles, no scuffs or wear whatsoever. Kind regards Andrew

Jim Still got the clutches - give me a shout whenever you're ready. Ooohhh another 20g powered scoob possibly??!!
-
Got your work cut out there Dave! I would really consider putting in 1 piece valves so you can run severe antilag without risking the tops breaking off at the fusion weld. Steve Guirey can get them fairly cheap I think they were about £15 each. I put Cusco adjustable coilovers on the car - super stiff tarmac rally styliee!! Too hard for back roads, but ideal for smooth surfaces, like Bray Hill & Lhergy Frissell (not sure about the Sloc yet - might have to drop the standard set up on for that stage). I think I might put a weld in cage in the car later this year, just all adds up. Let me know if you want any machining done for the build - Dean has everything in his workshop and is a perfectionist. Kind regards Andrew PS - Jim are you still running around on that slipping clutch??!!
-
Hi Dave So where are you up to now? What have you decided upon and who's doing the build? With the big power build you know you'll want a 20g and I might just happen to know of someone willing to sell! I've started shedding weight - binned the standard seats and put Cobra kevlar bucket seats in with harnesses, smaller Momo steering wheel without airbag etc. Not sure about the Garrett GT and dogbox at the moment - getting married a week before Christmas and the bills are mounting up big time! Regards Andrew
-
Jim The standard cast headers have a slip jointed section (which sits in front of the engine in an insulating jacket) that joins the left hand and right hand cast sections. There has to be an allowance for expansion, otherwise things crack wherever the weakest point is. Kind regards Andrew

I've got a knocklink in my garage going spare if you're interested - open to sensible offer. To fit Dave's guage, you have to open the box containing the LED's and pop them through the holes in the pod. Call me 497135 if interested. Kind regards Andrew
