  1. someone tell me how to post pics and i will put a pic of it up, or pm me an email address if some1 can post the pic for me....
  2. theres a few variations of the 35/42, i didnt pick it, i spoke to alan and martin and took the advice from then on which 1 to go for, so fingers crossed it will do the job... 450/420 would be ideal, should have stopped when it made 487, but got caught up with the bug again and went mad
  3. wasnt on here, was a wee while back in a text message... hopefully not too long, just waiting on the rotated kit then its full steam ahead...when you expecting yours back on the road?
  4. u forgotten already?? got the new 1 that cosworth have developed, looks pretty good.... scott
  5. agreed mate, he must be.....its easy to see why a lot of people are using him, service is first class....
  6. very wise way to go, far better than spending fortunes trying lots of different things first this time i am pretty sure it will all come together nicely....will be able to let you see the other inlet manifold option too im sticking with the standard gearbox just now, alan j reckons the 6spd should cope with it ok, so i wont be changing it unless i break it....
  7. thanks mate, hope so too.... once the rotated kit arrives should only be a few weeks til its ready....cant wait to get it mapped and on the track... scott
  8. hold up is the rotated kit from rcm, they are using a new supplier and are having a few teething problems for the kits for newage cars, shouldnt be much longer though according to olly clark...fingers crossed.....once the turbo kit comes through then it will be full steam ahead, all the other bits are ready to be fitted.... scott
  9. peter is my official spokesman....lol.... true enough though, andy f wont map gems.... the rotated kit is coming from rcm, but i have done all the dealings for it through alan jeffrey, have to say his service is first class, not pushy as has been said before, and very helpful......both alan and martin have been a great help to me sorting out my car, they will be glad when its finally done so they get peace from me with phone calls asking more questions...ha ha.... scott
  10. i guess time will tell if the 2.5 would be better, from past experience i wasnt prepared to try it again....
  11. still got the gems ecu on it, may not be as good as some of the others being used mate, but it cost me about £2k back in the day and i cant really justify spending more changing it when there are other more important things to buy for the car, im pretty sure the ecu will do everything i need it to do, steves mapped the car a few times and is v good at what he does.... turbo wise its a gt3542 ive gone for, when i sat and thought about it, the gt42 that was on the car was overkill so i sold it.....
  12. this sounds a very interesting car, be keen to see how you get on, some impressive mods u got planned mate... scott
  13. cant wait to see this when its finished peter
  14. cant wait to run it in, shouldnt take long, trailer down to steve simpson for base map, drive home be about 1/4 of run in, few days driving about then run back down for full map, all going to plan.....the rotated turbo kit is the only holdup at the moment...
  15. did i miss a bit where expected power output has been suggested??curious too on what car and what route as sounds very similar to what im doing with mine..... what route are you taking with yours mate?? scott
  16. agreed with what you say about alan jeffrey, my engine is there just now, should be back any time now, got a load of stuff done by them, service is excellent....... alan will keep you right with whatever you want to buy, clutch going to be on my list of things to do eventually too.... scott
  17. thats the same sort of understanding i get mate, sure if you check 22b.com or scoobynet there will be a thread or 2 about this.....
  18. whos building your engine mate?? couple of names have been mentioned about people who have done the work for inlet manifolds, i know peter(fai17) is getting one made by pennine subaru so you could also speak to him... i spoke to alan jeffrey about inlet manifold, from what i understand they dont make a massive difference to power, some of the high power cars have them as even a few bhp makes a difference to them....there are some other alternatives out there scott
  19. spoke to dunc today mate, £35 for aircon recharge on vectra, bit of a saving from the stealer...
  20. give dunc at hypertech a shout mate, got him to do mine a while back and dont think it was anywhere near as steep as that.... scott
  21. a few of us started going to the pub on a thursday night instead, wasnt the same going up without the cars(majority of them were off the road for rebuilds), once i get mine back i dare say i will head up to see whats happening/what new cars are there now....
  22. hoping its not going to be too much longer, bottom end is built, heads are back and just to be put together, turbo back from getting ceramic coated, inlet manifold, injectors etc all arrived, only hold up is the new rotated kit, spoke to alan jeffrey today and he said olly clark is hoping to have it with us for the end of the week, so fingers crossed...once thats done then just need to get the exhaust made, get it fitted then down to steve simpson to get the base map done...... scott
  23. no prizes for guessing who was in the trolley......sure i remember that happening up the retail....back then was a laugh when thursday and sunday nights were the nights to be up the town with the cars......dont know anyone that still goes up, most of the cars are either sold or off the road....
  24. snap, booked the hols then realised i would still be away for totb, gutted.... convoy to scooby sprint in september in the pipeline?reckon u would get a few cars going down for it... scott
