from what i remember with my mates getting their p1s, i think the engines were prone to letting go about the 40k mile mark, although may have been down to folk fitting exhaust without a remap.... if you can get a mint condition p1 it would def be worth buying, i would have 1 in a flash...if it is standard and you want to make sure it is safe then why not buy it and pick up another ecu(eg apexi) and get andy f to map it, that way you got the car you want and the peace of mind of a safe map?? scott

was speaking to dunc tonight, from what i gather he didnt see them drive away, it was more that they had noticed them sitting in the car in the morning but assumed they were there to pick up someone dropping off a car and its been opportunistic, either way its crap, as is the fact that they reported it to the police about 11am and by 7pm the police still hadnt been up............

if he's just come out the workshop and seen them he would have had to go back inside and get car keys then try and dig his car out as there are usually cars lying everywhere, and thats assuming alex wasnt out with the car at the time....

guess it depends what management you use....andy f def seems to be the man up here, i run gems on mine and get steve simpson to map it, was going to get andy to do it but he doesnt map gems and spent too much on the ecu to change it again unfortunately... scott

not to put a damper on a mod, but i remember when i bought the samco set for my car, half the f*ckin hoses didnt fit, dunc was tearing his hair out....

bummer, i'm nightshift, would have been ok for the following thursday, always next time i suppose, maybe even have the scoob back...

any idea what sort of cost it would be??the prob with the rcm 1 is that it isnt compatible with my heads, think its designed to go with v3-4 heads and i dont want to change mine to that... scott

nice looking bit of kit...i was looking at changing my inlet manifold, was looking at the roger clark 1 but it doesnt fit a newage cos of the heads....

agree with some of the comments, keep the outside as standard looking as possible, spend the money tuning it for power...there is never enough of that, no matter what you buy you will always want more........
