  1. Seconded. Oh no, not another vote... [][] Sorry Ian........looks like I dropped you in it []
  2. Thats fine Baz and its what happens now - I was really looking to save someone time on having to stick up a map everytime we go out. Was thinking it would be of particular help to newbies who pick up on a thread about the monthly meet at say The Wharf. WE ,ie existing members, know where that is so a map's not posted. Newbies could see the map thread at the top of the site and be able to check it out themselves. Was only a suggestion..........
  3. Agreed Baz, IF the postcode is known - Mayflower Retail Park for example. I accept there are always alternatives, it was simply a thought that it might be more convenient to have it all loaded on the same site?
  4. In his column in Saturdays Telegraph James May is arguing that the driver should suit the car and not vice versa. He argues that Lambos and Ferraris are for footballers whereas a Maserati is for the more discreet and generally driven by gentlemen and women such as Sophia Loren......I'm with him so far. However he then goes on to say that while sales assistants in clothes shops will often be honest and tell you how much better you'd look in the pale blue suit he suspects "a Subaru dealer would sell an Impreza to a man who walked in with a white stick" [:^)] [*-)]
  5. There are always people who need to know the whereabouts of places we meet etc etc. Would it be possible to set up a permanent thread on the club site with such maps - this would serve as a quick reference point for everyone and save having to reproduce maps whenever we go out. Someone , perhaps Granby our very own map man, could set this up ? As moderator he could then immediately lock the thread - after all there would no need for anyone to reply / comment on it. If this goes ahead could I suggest the following locations for starters - The Wharf, Notcutts, Mayflower Retail Park where the ESC Southend runs start off ..........any more?
  6. where is the wharf? and what is it? Its a pub on the Crossways Estate at the foot of the Dartford Crossing - Greenhithe side. Where the hell's Granby when you need a map??
  7. At work tomorrow [] so you all have a luvly time now without me [:'(] I know you're all missing me already lol
  8. Up to stage 3 on the Atari lol
  9. I hpoe you are refering to your car Darren LOL [] ........................AND HE'S TOLD ME ALL ABOUT IT..............PRIVATELY []
  10. I touch goats []
  11. Looking good ........don't know that chippie's going to be able to cope with us all - still, if its not raining we can sit on the beach [ip] []
  12. bet your glad its not your birthday run as it'll cost you a small fortune for a round of drinks
  13. Best ring the chippie as they'll need to be getting another bag of spuds in lol
  14. I'd always wondered this....in the end I bought mine at Elites in Rainham/Dagenham - seemed to be no more expensive than just buying the tyres then getting them fitted. Also saves having the kwik-fit fitter getting his equipment on your rims [] Think there's a 'tyre only' firm that advertise in True Grip - is it Black Circle Tyres??
  15. What?.......you mean there could be two of them !!
  16. Yes please like last time [Y] You don't want me to lead on the way home then...............and it was such a pretty route I chose last time lol
  17. Take a cd of "bangin' toons " and try out that sound system............after all its taking up all the boot space lol.
  18. The relevant point is that its only applicable to cars first registered on or after 23 March 2006. You could therefore drive a car registered before that date with really high CO2 emissions but you'd not be caught by the new rates.
  19. Will book for Sunday as well - just waiting to see if any of my lads want to come along
  20. The new top band wouldn't affect yours any way Ian as it was registered before 23 March 2006. Apart from Leebo I don't know if there's anyone in the club whose car was registered after that date?
  21. Couldn't get it to post at all then it appered 5 times! Best delete 4 please Ian.
  22. would certainly make for a nice weekend away - keep us posted with dates etc WHY HAS THIS POSTED 5 TIMES??? IAN, DO YOU WANT TO DELETE THE 4 EXTRAS PLEASE
  23. Have posted up a seperate thread [Y]
  24. Have looked through the DVLA site and my understanding of the position is as follows. The graduated system of car tax based on car emissions was initially introduced for cars registered on or after 1 March 2001. The top rate was band F relevant to vehicles with CO2 emissions of over 185. Todays Budget has brought in a new top rate band G for cars registered on or after 23 March 2006 having CO2 emissions in excess of 225. This new band will be applied to all licences issued after tomorrow, 22 March 2007, for private cars falling in that band. It seems to me that its only those of us that have bought a car that was first registered on or after 23 March 2006 that are going to be affected but then only if the CO2 emissions are in excess of 225. Have a look at www.dvla.gov.uk/media/pdf/forms/v149.pdf
  25. bttt again in case anyones looking for it
