The head unit is total GASH so needs replaced even as much as the terrible speakers - it has no power (8 watts per channel if I remember rightly). The sound in the Impreza is not good acoustically so some sound deadening in the doors (ie Brown Bread film etc) is needed. Good luck.

Really great news - the car was great and I can still remember a group of us dribbling (literally) all over it @ the Blaeberry car park many moons ago.
