  1. Looking good JC - I would have asked them for a deposit from their pocket money before they were allowed near it - non-refundable []
  2. Looks the business - and you need decent stuff to look after a black car well. Worth the effort.
  3. Looking good - quite industrial looking - I like that.
  4. Still liking them - shining in the sun - I think they suit this car and with it being silver, alloy colour choice is difficult - too dark and they look grubby, too light (ie silver) and they look cheap. And gold is OBVIOUSLY out of the question []. However, need to clean the rest of the car a good bit (for me anyway) - but its' too sunny to wash it and I've just finished fixing our Dyson - new motor, belts, filters, stripped and cleaned and now running a treat - modified Dyson lol []
  5. And another pic of the wheel with flap on the front:
  6. Thanks Jim - I had hoped they would suit it. They don't look too modern and I want the car as standard looking as possible too.
  7. Well after months of waiting and deciding on wheels, tyres, wheels and tyres, to enable me to fit the brakes etc, I have finally got them polished and fitted to the car. First came the wheels (with some marks) but tyres now fitted thanks to Extreme Motorsport - Toyo T1-R's on a 215/40/17. Then after some touch up of a few marks, and then a couple of coats of Poorboys Wheel Sealant came the fitting Then the road test And finally the sun going down OK the pictures are crap as usual - taken on my phone in the blazing sunshine. Now for the new 4 pots, pads (Pagid RS 4.2.1) and discs at the front and new discs and pads (OMP R&S) at the rear with Motul 5.1 and Goodridge lines - ready to go on. Also a couple of nice Whiteline bits ready to go too [] Oh - and a Pro-Align geometry set-up too. Then its' on with the polishing for the summer! Brian []
  8. I am sure companies such as AS Performance can do these pads for around the £105 - £110 mark and a set of discs for £170.
  9. We are aware there is an issue but as yet C.S. have not noticed it as far as I am aware. We are looking into a solution and your patience is appreciated. Might be an idea to use MSN, email or phone if possible if you are having difficulty. Brian []
  10. Pretty sure they will - they look the same as the ones I had on my 03 - ask a dealer. A change to blobeye lights would be a good plan in my mind. These rear lights il become the equivalent of changing the standard bugeye lights at the front I think. B.
  11. That's what I need - buy myself a tyre fitting machine - then I can ruin my own rims lol []
  12. Good price but then still need to add fitting. I'll remember the site. They can do 4 T1-R's fitted for £310 [] Or mobile to your house for £322.
  13. £62 a tyre - what size? And are they T1-S's or R's? I have T1-R's on the car now and they are great.
  14. Nice pics - just need to get my magnifying glass out [] Hawkeye is nice. Needs a monster exhaust to unleash some sound though. Brian []
  15. Thanks and good job to Extreme Motorsport in Whitburn who sourced and fitted a lovely new set of Toyo T1-R's to my 17's which will, finally, go on the car - YIPPEE!!!!!!!! The price was as good as I could find anywhere - the only place cheaper was eBay by £5 quid a tyre but that did no include the fitting. The rims have been looked after, balanced well, tyres fitted the correct way round (had this done wrong many times) and even new valve covers thrown in free. I have used Swifts/Extreme for a few years now for servicing, pro-align as well as tyres, brakes, oil changes etc. They now also have Dastek rollers, official suppliers for many parts including Whiteline and are a Subaru & Mitsubishi specialist. Worth a look in. John Swifts EVO has been featured in mags such as Jap Perfomance and Fast and Modified. Also, some of you may have seen it at SIDC tracdays. Thumbs up. Away out to clean and wax these wheels - 5 months in the garage beside my "pool" has not done them much good - not quite to the standards of the Astra man causing so much debate in off topic! Brian.
  16. Pull of the fascia surround - being careful with the clips - you need to unscrew the cupholder first. When the fascia is off you'll see the bolts holding the worst car stereo ever made in place - can you believe its a Kenwood. You'll need an adaptor kit (fascia plate) and a wiring loom for the new head unit you are fitting if you've not already got them? Brian [] PS Pleanty of guides to this online - try Scoobynet or search on here for info. Or try IWOC also.
  17. Sent my text to RBF for my wrong guesses!
  18. Rough cost of a front set of pads and discs for Brembo's would be £280 - £300 - something like DS2500 pads, or Pagid RS 4.2.1 - slightly cheaper for EBC Red Stuff with discs. The back brake set up on a newage STI and WRX are totally different down to the hubs. The back brakes on a WRX are Subaru 2 pots and on an STI they are Brembo's. Brian.
  19. Fantastic!
  20. That white EVO was in Extreme Motorsport at 5PM when I was dropping off my wheels. It was getting loads of stuff
  21. The rears are a PITA to fit [] Also, "Imprettsa" - oh dear []
  22. Were they both in plane crashes?
  23. eBay is the common place.
  24. That sounds about right. A properly set-up pair of Brembo's will be very good - but so can a properly set-up 4 pot. Have you thought about the Godspeed big brake conversion for your 4 pots - £625 and well rated. May be better than the Brembo set-up? Brian []
