Yep, very impressive. Well done. The winner should have challenged that awesome 12 litre chevy hot rod.

So it seems the management of Braehead don't approve of drivers using their car park to park their cars. "Its private property" the plods told us.

Grant, was that you I saw on the Howwood bypass around 6:30 yesterday evening(Tues). Judging by the noise from the exhaust, I reckon it was.

Grant, nice pictures. You forgot to mention how cold it was. Colin Greer did well on his first 'drifting round the hairpin' run. He was the only one that seemed to be in full control of the car. He totally messed it up on his second run however. The 2000bhp 12 litre Chevy hot rod was awesome. The commentator said it was de-tuned to around 1000bhp to avoid too much wheel spin. I hope they bring back the 'miss hot tub' competitions for next year. It was quite disappointing not to see the dollybirds gettin' them out for the boys like they did last year.

I so much wanted to tell them if they had have been chasing me with their little Focus, it wouldn't have lasted long. I thought the better of it though. edit Anyway, I'm going to the pub before it shuts to help take my mind off it.

I just had an interesting encounter with the police this evening. I was pulling up to a ?give way? at a roundabout (in a built up area). I gave way to the car coming from my right (at high speed). I noticed it was a black Impreza. He turned up the road I?d just come from. I then continued, exiting the roundabout at the next left. I only got a couple of hundred yards when I saw the blue flashing lights in my mirror. I thought they wanted to pass, so I slowed. They flashed their headlights at me so I stopped. They accused me of doing 80+ mph in a 30 mph zone. They had apparently been chasing ME for the last four miles. I tried to tell them it wasn't me, they wouldn't listen. ?After all how many black Impreza's are there around here? they said. ?Four that I know of actually?, I told them. Of course they didn?t believe me when I told them I saw the car they wanted going in the opposite direction. They were absolutely adamant they had the right car. They were trying to pressure me into an admission. One of them even had the cuffs ready. I told them I was just on my way to the Chinese takeaway, my engine hadn?t even got up to temperature yet. They reluctantly agreed that my engine was cold so I couldn?t have been the one they were chasing. I was told to watch my speed and sent on my way without an apology. So anyway, if I had just been for a run, and my engine was fully up to temperature, then I would have had no defense against their accusations, and would probably have been arrested and maybe even imprisoned for something I was completely innocent of. It wasn?t traffic division, so no onboard video. It would have been the word of two policemen against mine.

Doesn't it seem strange that the Scotland "events" section on Scoobynet still has a high viewing audience even though very little is getting posted nowadays.

Ha ha, Dougster the white van man.

I'm not exactly sure either. But if it's on the seafront it can't be hard to find. Is it the north or south end of the road?

If the weather was anything like it was today, then I'll turn up, but not in the car, I'll leave that for another time. Looks like it might be an excellent evening for a wee blast on the bike. (average at 40mpg for the bike as opposed to under 20 mpg for the car, I'd be daft not to). Dougster, what sort of time will you be at the beach?

I was trying to sell it for Bill on Scoobynet a few months back (for £8K). It's for sale for a lot less than it's worth. It was built by Prodrive to GrpA/Clubman spec, using many WRC parts. I've got pictures of the engine and the dyno graph as well. You would need a few modifications to run it in a normal road car, like a really strong gearbox, fmic etc.

Scottish Scoobies Stickers - the designs

Do paid up members get an SIDC discount? Ok, I know I'm a cheeky sod, but I just had to ask. -
John, Graham told me he normally does a 52 second lap. He told me he was really going for it because I jokingly said "Don't short shift it and I give me my money's worth". So he did. Now I know why F1 drivers have such well developed neck muscles.

It would look good on the back of a T shirt as well. -
I was at knockhill today to get a ride in the Formula hotlaps car. Only £30 for a ride in two seater car loosely based on a F3/F3000. I was advised to wait until the end of the session when he could really open it up as there would be no other traffic. The driver did a 51 second lap. It was AWESOME! The acceleration felt quick but not mind blowing (maybe 'cos I'm used to the bike). It's in the cornering where it really shines. The g forces in the bendy bits gave me a new found respect for F1 drivers. BRDS driver Graham Brunton told me afterwards he was going as quick as he possibly could. It was all over in a flash (3 laps) but it was well worth the money. They'll have a race prepped Ferarri 355 in time for next season I think thats the next thing to go for.

Dougster, it's far too much hassle parking at the airfield, and you have to pay for the priviledge. I'm gonna do the same as last year and park in the "park and ride" field. It's free to park, and there's a free bus every couple of minutes to the show. Also, if you stay till the very end of the show, when you get back to your car you can have a nice big open field to play in.

I'll probably turn up. (Maybe).

Something like picture above with the Scottishscoobies web address underneath. Very simple and straight to the point. Although I would prefer the username at the left, SIDC logo at the right. -
I've been an Impreza owner for around 3 years, and up till now I've never considered becoming a member of the SIDC. I did browse the SIDC forum from time to time, but I always found myself on Scoobynet sometimes for hours on end. I don't post much but I read almost everything. Anyway I'll try and get to the point. With the recent climate on Scoobynet, a lot of us have moved house over to the new Scottish section on SIDC. I think we should show our appreciation by becoming full members of the SIDC (if you haven't already done so that is). I've just purchased a years membership from the online shop. Who's with me on this?

I'd like to bring my 13 year old nephew along. So my preference would be for the Monkton lodge because I know it's Child friendly. We've had a few successful meets there in the past. Jason O'neil has also mentioned about Monkton on the other place, he could bring a few Skylines along.

Yes I did. There was a junction ahead, and I was just checking on Autoroute (laptop) if I should go left or right. Were you the stickered up car that went past? -

I thought I'd try and catch up with y'all at the wee pub in Thankerton. I took the shortest most direct route which turned out to be the slowest because of the heavy traffic. Anyway I was told by the guy at the pub I'd missed it by about 15 minutes. Oh well, maybe next time. It took me 2.5 hours to get to the pub, and just over an hour to get home by the longer route. -
Scoobay, what ECU is it? I recently put a Z4in my car so I have a U8 going spare.
