  1. When I'm doing tight turns out of junctions and especially when reversing out my drive (which involves near full lock) I get a lot of juddering from the rear wheels. It feels like the diff is trying to tie itself in knots, I can hear the rear wheels slipping on the road surface. This is with the DCCD set at auto. My old Type R with DCCD used to do this on full lock wth the diff open so I am assuming its just a normal occurrance with having DCCD? Also, I seem to get a lot of transmission shunt when driving about town at slow speed's. I find it quite difficult to drive it smoothly, I cant remember it being like that in all the other Scoob's I've owned. Col.
  2. Got these today 8"x 18" Brand new from Compomotive for the bargain price of £360! Ordered Goodyear Eagle F1'S from blackcircles last week but they havent appeared yet.
  3. Just got a quote for the damage, £520! Going to go through my insurance...nightmare!
  4. Thats a shocker Andy! How somebody can do that and walk away is unbelievable. I was in Tesco too when I noticed mine but had obviously been done somewhere else. Acid, Yeah I used to use the Airpark but the company wouldnt pay for it, guess where I am going next time!
  5. Its a strange place to have a dent, it looks like something pretty heavy has dropped on it rather than been another vehicle. Dont really want to go through insurance although my no claims is proctected, apart from the stealers where coud I purchase a genuine front wing?
  6. I've just noticed this while out shopping- I have been offshore for the past 2 weeks and got back yesterday afternoon, I had the car parked in a hotel car park in Dyce which I have used for over a year with no problems. The car park isnt the safest in the world but I had a quick look round the car when I picked it up but didnt see any damage but the n/s wing was the only place I never really inspected! It looks pretty fresh as theres only a tiny amount of surface rust but no other marks, i.e. footprints of scratches. Luckily the bonnet is undamaged. It was parked at the end of a row of spaces with the damaged side out in the open, I've called the hotel but they were useless. So, where's the best place to get it sorted?? An unhappy Col.
  7. great video but its been on the go on every forum in the land for a couple of months now!!
  8. haha....that was just my exuberant driving!
  9. scooby222, Yeah they are 114.3 pcd, they are coming straight from compomotive so asked before I bought. I really rated the Goodyears on other scoob's I've had, cant decide now!
  10. The 888's are a bit pricey, £170 each is a bit over my budget. I've found the Dunlop Maxx for £110 so will prob go for them.
  11. I managed to obtain a brand new set of 8 x 18" Compomotive MO's at a bargain prize yesterday but not sure what the ideal tyre size is for my scoob, (Hawkeye STI) Any idea's? Also what tyres to go for? I was always a fan of Goodyear F1's but as these wheels will probably just be for summer use I fancy something a bit stickier, any recommendations? Col.
  12. Seats look great but why after the saga of the harnesses do you still have them mounted in such a dangerous way??!
  13. Yeah thats a hawkeye dash 06/07.
  14. Welcome to the site, as an ex-Type R owner I recommend watching out for the back end trying to pass you! great cars but can be a handful if your not on the ball!
  15. Getting 2 new rear strut's fitted tomorrow, manufacturer's warranty run's out on Friday!
  16. Harness bar's look good but what happen's if you have rear seat passenger's and you have a head on smash? Even with their belt's on they would prob end up hitting it with some part of their body.
  17. Did you have a look at the link's I posted up on the last page? The rear strap should be as near as horizontal as possible it show's you this in the instruction manual you get with the harnesses, well it did with mine (Sabelt) I've just had a look in my own car at the bolt you have mounted yours to, its only for locating the seat. There's not a chance I would mount a piece of life saving equipment off it. Use the existing seat belt mount's i.e. the ones on the back seat.
  18. The shoulder strap should be as horizontal as possible. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v147/bon...image_large.jpg http://us.st12.yimg.com/us.st.yimg.com/I/s...tcom_1691_61108
  19. Welsho, Are you sure that's a safe place to have your rear strap mounted? I used to use the rear seatbelt mounting bolt where you put the buckle in. I've seen diagrams about best places to fit the rear mount and I am sure that's not advised.
  20. I had harnesses in loads of my car's in the past and it never crossed my mind about having nowhere to go in the event of a rollover, maybe I wont bother putting the set a have lying here in my new car. As for the cage, that is a pretty dangerous thing to have in a road car too unless you plan on driving with a helmet on which is illegal is it not? dont fancy smashing my head off some 3" pipe in the event of a crash.
  21. That was only the 2nd time I have ever been in Weirs and to be honest I wasn't impressed with the staff. The first time I went in and wandered about in the showroom for a good 10 mins and never saw a sole! I thought the place was shut and they had forgot to lock the front door!
  22. Cheers guys! On a random note, I have a wireless doorbell in my house and three times now the key button for locking the car has set it off! The doorbell has about 10 different tunes but it doesnt play the one it's set to it alternates between the others!!...random!
  23. Well after 200 miles in the new car I have noticed a slight rattle from the back end. Only noticable when you are barely crawling along, a very slight rattle then when you stop at say traffic light's sometime's the back end will drop down a tiny amount with a little clunk, does this sound familiar?? Everybody that has been a passenger in the car has commented on it even when I haven't said a word. I know this is a common fault with the Impreza. I've booked it into John R Wier they are looking at it first thing monday morning, got a warranty so not too bothered just a bit annoying. Col.
  24. The mood is already upon me Mr G! Lot of plan's but the will have to wait unil early next year.....watch this space
