  1. After an incident involving a BMX and me sliding bare chested (I was skinny then too) down a partially melting tarmac driveway for about 10 yards before crashing into a garage door when I was 9 or 10 I got the margerine treatment. Worked well from what I remember. The things a boy will do to impress a girl.
  2. You must be in with a good shout Sharon. Best of luck. I'll cross my fingers and toes for you tomorrow.
  3. Are your fillings getting rattled to feck with all that? Mine is relatively stiff with the Teins and the whiteline droplinks. More planted than Alan Tichmarch's garden though.
  4. ALK is on my list. Does the car feel more planted when giving it a bit o'stick?
  5. I don't think there are any fixed Gatsos operating on the Scottish Motorways during normal conditions. There's plenty of lines on roads where temporary ones were located during roadworks which will inevitably cause at least 2 accidents after the roadworks are finished because people still think they're working.
  6. It would have to be the BFs for me too. In either red or white illumination. But as long as they were BF. Saw them in a few cars and they are, as the french say, le dogs bollocks.
  7. http://www.defi-shop.com/product/bf/bf_top.html Go there.
  8. I thought you'd quoted me a better price than that Chris. Albeit without the Pod. That was AGEEEEEEEEES ago though. Anyhoo. I take it if I wanted to go to a 4 gauge setup later it's easy enough to do because of the whole link system? I'm thinking of boost on the pillar then 3 on the pod.
  9. Could be interested. Depending on price and when it would be though. Can't afford it just now, but maybe at the end of the month.
  10. I was just having a jape.
  11. Orange or otherwise?
  12. Baillieston is lovely this time of year. I'd go with Dougster's suggestion of the Marina though. You're gauranteed some action with that.
  13. Burrell collection. Science Centre. Tour of the city. Transport Museum (no scoobs I think). A nice walk round Glasgow Green. Or go up to Loch Lomond, find a quiet spot and get jiggy with it. []
  14. If you've got a costco membership then Silicon blades from there are so cheap it's criminal. £2.99 I think, for the EXACT same product (quite literally) that Scoobyworld sold to me for £14.99. Also in costco is a 40 pack of towels which are very soft and great for washing then drying what the silicon blade can't get. Also buffing etc. Cost was again something ridiculous like £8 the lot.
  15. They'd be mad not to hire you, and you know that Sharon. Look at my new job - Interviewed late November, told a week and a half later it was mine, didn't start until end of January. Personnell issues go at their own pace. When I told them I could start anytime they were shocked! They expected me to work out my notice once they'd confirmed everything, essentially giving me a month from the end of January, so it could have taken 3 months + from interview to starting and they'd have been non-fussed. Now fair enough it's the government I'm working for so everything takes twice or thirce as long, but in your case telling him you could start sooner was something he probably wasn't looking for, so don't panic. Good luck again!
  16. That's quite an interesting read that as it's different from what I did for the wax stage. The instructions I had said to wax an area (say 1 panel), leave for 10 minutes then buff. That says to wax the entire car, leave it for a while, then start buffing. Anyone do it that way? I think I'll order myself a clay bar to go with the rest of my kit and get myself mentally prepared for the slog that will be getting the car back into tip top condition after the winter. But when I stand back and look at when it's finish then it'll be all worth it. Nothing quite like a freshly waxed black car.
  17. If you are only using polish then you're leaving your paint work EXPOSED!
  18. Craig, the Meguiars website is very good at explaining the difference between polishes and waxes etc. - www.meguiars.co.uk I think. Anyhoo, I wouldn't use a "Polish" on my car as it is of course and abbrasive. Like the others have said - Swissol all the way. Once every 6 months/a year you go for the full daddy treatment of wash the car thoroughly with the swissol shampoo, then use the paint cleaner to strip off all the wax. Then apply the swissol wax. I'd then wash the car weekly, and wax monthly or there abouts. It's so easy to use, yet it's tremendously effective. It smells fantastic also. I also use the meguairs hot wheels cleaner with a soft wheel brush for looking after my alloys. I have swissol autobahn wheel wax for them too. Autosol for the exhaust. RainX for the windows of course, it is truly genius. I get on quite nicely with the Armorall wipes for the interior, after a good hoooooovering of course.
  19. Chris, check your regional settings in your control panel. Sounds like you've got a problem there.
  20. Nasty! Any more damage? Alignment, suspension, bodywork?
  21. I'm sure everyone else will echo that. Keep calm and good luck for tomorrow.
  22. Quality Andy. If only he did tesco extra value flowers too then I'd really be sorted.
