It was a great meet. Well done to Paul for excellent organisation. Turnout was really big indeed. There was 7 at the little chef from Glasgow alone. Maybe 20-25 cars in total? Some very nice ones indeed. I followed Ally who was giving G Mac a lift on the way home. We came back at a leisurely pace. []

Costco had one of the Snoopers for £100+Vat recently. It looked like a really tidy bit of kit indeed. Much nicer than my classic road angel.

You can get them recalibrated. Just don't know who does it. I just use my road angel as definitive source for accurate speed readings. Cars generally over read as they are not allowed to under read. I also have a link at home that tells you the percentage out your speedo will be when changing your wheels. Will post when I get home.

Philip, don't let anyone put you off. There's an air of safety round these parts just now. And why shouldn't there be of course. The last thing any of us wants to do is attend the funeral of one of our own. Yes you're travelling fast, but I don't see any particularly big gambles. We all take risks, but I hope for everyone's sake they're well calculated ones. I never drive at my or the cars limits on the roads, that's what the track is for. I don't let that stop me having a bit of fun where I can do it in a manner that accounts for the safety of others around me and myself as much as I can.

Your maths don't work. 0.5x55m = 27.5m 5x55m=275m =302.5m, as you say. But for those 5 seconds of hard braking your speed is in constant decrease and you wont be covering the same distance. Still, 130mph = f*****.

Paul, the question is - does the Road Angel database include French Speed Cameras, and if not then other than knowing your GPS speed reading does it serve any purpose at all? I've seen european speed camera databases for TomTom Navigator, so I imagine that GPS based units are perfectly legit
