I liked that shell station. More than weekly visits for a year and most of them seemed to know me. I went in one Sunday on the way home from knockers and the girl serving me said "didn't recognise you without your work clothes Stephen".
Plus it was damn convenient on the way to the track.
My new "local" on the way home from work don't treat me as a regular yet.
Craig, you wouldn't happen to have a good shot of your engine bay tucked away somewhere. WUZ has been a legend with some advice on how I'm going to fit my defis, but wouldn't mind seeing a wee shot of where the wires go through the firewall.
Looks like you've got something pretty nice there Pete. Get some of the boys up your way to give it the once over and make sure it's all running 100% before giving it too much beans.
Are saab doing the 9-2x, aka saabaru, over here? GM obviously sold their Subaru stake recently, and it would seem odd to launch the car over here now.
Oh and it's not just the engine of course, it's just a saabed up WRX.
Nice one craig. I think I have the same headunit as you - DEH-P8600 - and I have the forrestor pocket too. Although mounted the other way round with the pocket underneath, and I was thinking when I wired up the electrics of my defis 2 hours ago that I could mount it in there.
Probably wont though for various reasons, but looks good none the less.
I was lucky to pick these up on ebay at a good price. As I say, they're the STI Genome variants, so pretty nifty too. Not a lot of these in the country I wager.
I think I'd be just as happy to wire them up to keep replaying the startup sequence!
The 3 sensor wires are all there with the appropriate bits on the end, but I think I'll need some other wee bits to get them all working. T pieces and things. I'll need to enlist the services of someone with a clue. Electrics I can do but engine stuff I'm not confident with and I haven't the slightest idea how I even get the wires from the engine bay to the car!
The STI Genome Defis have arrived. Done the electrical wiring as I couldn't wait to see them light up and everything seems to be functioning nicely. - www.st3ph3n.com/defisbaby.mp4 - Just look at the loveliness.
Now all I need to do is the sensors stuff which scares the living pish out of me then mount the pod and I'm done.
It's CHRISTMAS!
You could make a 3 course meal out of the flies on the front of mine. That's what happens when you come back from the loch with Al and Ed at warp factor 20.
