Thats exactly how i ran mine in Frank, this time last year 700miles on the rebuilt engine and i was off to Port Seton for the full beans map!!!
Right, After a run up north and back to rack up the miles, I am now at just under 700. I am going to book it in for an oil change this week. It has been up and down the gears plenty, 1, 2, 3, 4000rpm, 5 once and never dropped down a gear to woosh it. That should do the job. By the time It gets re juiced, it will have done about 850+

I like to be detailed mate!!!
lol. I thought that was the case, rather than a fetish for egg detail.
This evening I took her up the A82 in the rain towards Lomond, and kept going to Tarbet, Crainlarich, tyndrum and Loch Awe. It really is good to be behind the wheel of a subaru again, and even in the low thousands it just pulls like a train.
Im now at 680 miles and it will soon be time for an oil change and a heavy foot
*I just need to find something to reduce the dip at the end of the lane, which keeps catching the splitter, every single time I leave home !!! every time.
A bag of gravel spewed all over the place under the cover of darkness?
A plank of wood in the boot?
A bag of cement accidently spilled with water?
-
I see you have had an old friend round admiring it............
Andy what worries me the most about this photo you produced, is the fact you took time to draw a little line down the bawbag. thats just wrong :santa:
-
Cheers for the messages. Muchos gracias.
I think well I know I have the receipts in the car for the rebuild. Cant remember if it was Subaru themselves in Slip end or someone else. In fact it was, cos they put some total quarz 7000 oil in it and they double as a citreon garage. Apparently the scoob guy they have their knows his stuff and is highly regarded.
Things under warranty and I will be playing the game in terms of oil changes and taking it in for checks and stuff. that covers me. I also wont be driving it like i stole it.
It will stay standard !! Famous last words.
G- you win tonight, can you buy me a decat and remap? lol
-
Nice one G-Unit, look forward to see you driving it in anger!
Cheers Graeme, Ill leave the GU plate so you know its me.
Hope you get things sorted with yours and it can be overcome !
-
Yesterday I finally got a hold of my new RB320, model 66. I absolutely love it!!
The car came from Slip End Subaru following an engine rebuild after the previous owner ran it dry and shat the big end. They fixed it and provided me with all the receipts and technicians report and the engine has now done just under 400 miles. Finally Slip End gave it to Ian Grieves who sold me the car.
Im running it slowly, working hte gears, building it up slowly and have been pootling around sitting in the slow lane.
Unlike my old STI (version 8), the gear box feels tight, the car feels very solid and has a new competition clutch fitted. I am going to take it back and get the oil changed in a few hundred miles, then give it a while longer before it gets to stretch its legs. Cant wait.
Real issue getting the car in and out of the street without catching the splitter, but ill figure out a way.
Here she is.
-
gotta ask who are you talking about?? me or him, coz i dont care if mine looks stinking at end of day its for fun and trackdays not everyday use on roads
lol. him of course !
-
fair play to him for all his effort. Looks totally stinking but he likes it lol
-
Get what you can back, go to eastern europe and smash his eggs with a piston
-
Really sorry to hear this has happened Graeme !! shocking story
Did you pay by credit card? Is there a way with CC that it is insured? I think there is.
-
Thanks for the feedback guys. The good squirrel sorry, squiggle has just told me that I shold be changing it around 500 and then working it nicely up and down the gears until its ready at 1000.
Then there is the 200 miles, drop it until 750 thing.
I guess taking it easy mostly, with some light introduction to revs, with a nice new drink at around 800 should be good.
Heres hoping
-
New engine with 400 miles.
Keep it below 2500rpm for another 600 or so.
Does it then need the oil changed at 1000 miles?
Please advise
-
Dastek in Dalgetty are offering us 16-25 cars on Sunday 20th November for £35 each !
Good deal I think.
Give us more time to get people on board.
I would need to pay a deposit so if we can move to the events section and get ideas there, we can get it sorted.
Chris

I just found this site. I cant remember how or what I was looking for.
I havent come across this before and there is some interesting stuff about the history of subaru, the impreza, the various versions and text around the most powerful off the shelve. The WR1. Didnt know that either although I now remember back to a few years ago when my V8 STI with 327/320 at the time got completely destroyed near knockhill by a WR1. It all falls into place now...........
I hope for those of you who havent yet seen this, it provides some new knowledge.
Anyone who finds more of this type of stuff, Id personally like to learn more about the badge.
HERES THE LINK
-
Im new to all this and what is arranged and how etc nowadays. I think its a great idea though.
Before we know it it will be xmas so maybe it should be before the last pay day, ie Oct/Nov? This means more people would be up for it.
-
OMG !! Glad the kids are OK and hope the wife is fine too !
Thats the main thing.
New scooby for xmas hopefully
-
Duncan at Hypertec has got one as well now
mine will be off the road till the new year (I hope not any longer than that)
Graeme
Uncle Duncy has this? OK so it could be a Central dyno?
-
Hi,
I want to get my new scoob dynod and thought it would be good to ask if there are others intending to do the same anytime soon? Keeping the cost down would do nicely as well as getting to meet new folks and see some scoobs.
I noticed there was one started up to gauge interest in May/June and was later cancelled.
ANyone else fancy getting this set up?
Where is it you go these days? Dastek? Im staying out of Star + deepest Fife as each time I go there I get points.
Chris
-
Looks good mate ! Like the white alloys !
Welcome
-
I Know this is the S IMPREZA DC but I have today been given the use of a 2010 legacy deisel until the RB320 is ready, and have to say, the car is great !
It is a deisel, must have about what? 170bhp? not sure, but it pulls along nicely, takes deisel fuel, has cruise control and phone bluetooth which i dont know how to sync, loads and loads of room in the boot, feels solid on the road and im sure would make a superb second car or motorway runner if you had a spare 20 odd k.
I really like it.
I remember the white legacy wilky had with all its toys and remember not being able to shake it off in the STI on the twisties coming down from Loch Earn. Maybe that was just driving differences though.
Legacy gets a big thumbs up from me and im sure is a great car in the winter too :biggrinsanta:
-
welcome to the forum Gandalf. NIce to buy a first scooby with such power ready to go !
To get photos up, you need to create a photobucket.com account then its all fairly easy.
You upload a photo to your account, copy the link, and paste it into the icon above (2 places right of the smiley face)
Good luck
Chris
-
Love the white M3 and the old porsche. Very nice.
The RB320s look smoking hot and the blue STI with the engine bay is amazing
I remember flying on concorde when I was 10. Amazing aircraft ! pity they dont make them anymore
Finally, my new car
in Scottish Scoobies
Posted
Earlier today with the help of an assistant, I cracked it.
I come down the lane, bounce onto the pavement a little, than steer left. Clears it by 2 inches !
A real pain in the chorus, but it is worth it to have the RB hidden from sight overnight
