There's not a lot of choice other than shopping in a large Supermarket thesedays. I couldn't tell you where my closest local grocer, baker or butcher is Then there's the quality of the food in these big stores, especially fruit and veg. We get sold stuff on looks and price and that's about it. I heard one of the biggest sellers is pre-cut, bagged lettuce. Crazy, you need to spend 3 times as much money on 30secs of convienience. Can you tell I'm not a big fan of these superstores Guess we've only ourselves to thank wanting Apples from New Zealand or Peaches from California when the ones grown in our own country are just as good. Anyway, sorry to go off topic a bit

The IC in that eBay link is a bog standard MY99/00 Uk one. The STI5/6 IC is silver with an STI logo and is bigger than the Uk one. The RB5 has the bog standard MY99/00 UK one. Stefan

DS2500's are a great pad, but God are they dusty.
-
oh, and get adjustable bars so you can tweak to suit you.
-
Not sure what diameter bar is on the back of the WR1. Probably same as STI, but I would check first. If you replace the front ARB it may introduce understeer if the ratio between front/rear stiffness is too close. Stefan

Have you checked for leaks in the calipers, especially around the dust seals? As Dave says it's a classic sign of air in the system. It could also be boiled/tired fluid, but I wouldn't expect this if you've just flushed the system. I must admit, I've never been impressed with the initial bite of the OE system. My Mum's 1 litre Kia puts you through the windscreen if you even look at the pedal. Mind you it's sh!t from anything about 30mph

ne1 know good Removals or Courier firms around Edinburgh?
ozzy replied to ozzy's topic in Scottish Scoobies
cool. What does he need to give us a quote? I have a list of what needs sent. -
I need to send a couple of desks, cabinets, whiteboards and pc's down to our Brighton office. Does anyone know of a company that will come in a package the stuff and transport it. It's only a transit vans worth of kit, but most removal placesdon't do such small jobs. I'd use a courier, but it's loads of hassle getting the stuff packed properly, especially desks. Stefan

fook me, vultures were circling quick tonight

8x18 doesn't tell us much. Hopefully someone on SN will know, otherwise you'd be best asking the supplier what the offset is. The spoke design together with the offset will dictate if they will fit over the STI Brembos. ET53 is what the normal offset is with the Prodrive wheels for the STI's, but as you see on the post the WR1 with Brembos uses a ET51 with the PFF7 8x18 wheel. You really need to hear from someone with experience otherwise you'll be the guineapig Stefan

Just how loud is the zorst? Could do with a replacement for my std classic STI, but I don't want something that will deafen me in the car. Where are you based?
-
Ain't got a Scooby (so to speak), but you need to know their offset, the PCD and spoke design (for any special caliper clearance). This should help - Mike Wood's Post on Scoobynet Oh, and you'll need at least 225 width tyres for a 8" alloy, but that should be a problem on the newage cars. Stefan

BTW, the C&C website doesn't work.

I would also like to apologise to the Club and AF Noble regarding my own comments that may have been defamatory or considered unfair. Stefan

How does the car actually 'feel'. When my MAF started misbehaving it was very lumpy under acceleration so was easy to spot something was iffy. I did get a few red flashes at high rpm, but generally the activity on the Knocklink could be felt as well. As Alan has said, fuel quality can vary from pump to pump and that should give you a quick indication if it's related or something else. Or just do what I did and remove the feckin thing and stop worrying about it Stefan

I always ran mine of maximum sensitivity. There's an adjuster on the unit (little yellow turn screw thingy) - unless they've dismantled it and hid the unit behind the dash. Ideally they should be adjusted with the aid of det cans or at least something else that can relate the activity to just background noise or actual det. Stefan

I hope your actually doing some work to justify my tax payers dollars not that I'm bitter

Enjoy yourself out there, especially since we're all paying for it

This is just the alloy bells and all the bolts/brackets/caliper spacers for the Godspeed kit. Discs and pads are completely shot and ready for the bin. Looking for around £175 for a local sale (central Scotland). Stefan P.S. Discs are approx £250 per pair and pads range from £70-£110 depending on make.

I found DS2500 pads VERY dusty. Performance was very good though. On my second set of EBC Redstuffs. They perform pretty well, but initial bite from cold can be poor and they don't last very long. May try the Pagids next time around.

Coming back from Alaska next week and my car needs new front discs & pads before I can get it back on the road. Anyone have any standard size discs and pads for a MY99 Turbo (4-pots) for sale?? Stefan

If you need huge brakes, you're braking too much and therefore driving like a proper pansy Out of interest, what's the spec of Miss Scoobies car and what's wrong with her current brake setup to want bigger rears? If you really want the ultimate, then you need to look at AP Racing kits IMHO. Stefan

All expenses paid jolly to the US - jammy barsteward I'll say. Spending a month in Alaska myself; what a pi$$er

You can get the refurb kit from any Dealer. Either fix it yourself or get a local garage to do them. They shouldn't have any hassles just coz it's a Scooby.
