i notice theres a lot of imprezas drifting about up here but not many posting on any forums. was wondering if theyre just shy or dont know about the joy of sidc and if thered be any interest in trying to organise a regularish meet for the northerly scoobs?

im pretty sure that anti lag and launch control are built into the ecus of 04/05 sti s but not activated,but they can be with ecutek remap

having driven from edinburgh to perth through a blizzard at 1 am i can say i didnt notice much problem with the dcccd, the bridgestones on the other hand....

afraid not, max tint allowed on visors is 30% which is p/ss all use. however i can paint over a pair of glasses with black paint and wear those under the visor quite legally,go figure!

yep the price is just ridiculous,i needed one after getting a new door skin but i just made do with the old one. apparently its almost impossible to get that bit off without marking it

ive had imprezas for six years and ive always said that you shouldnt buy one if your worried about fuel, but last year i spent half my years wages on fuel alone and optimax has gone from 80p a litre to over a pound up here, without my wages going up. i love imprezas and always will but there comes a point when you have no money to go on holiday, take your other half for dinner , buy birthday presents etc. which is why ive bought a diesel for everyday driving and keep the impreza for weekends, by the time i looked at the savings on fuel, servicing, tyres and the depreciation on an 8 month old sti its the cheapest option. thing is if we enthusiasts (or nutters) cant afford to run them who the hell can we sell them to for decent money? maybe mr brown would like to offer a buy back scheme for those hes taxed off the roads? rant over ,im off to stick on my sounds of imprezas cd to calm myself

if you have a look at the pics from awd on sat mine is the fourth pic, all four windows tinted by the dealer and i was repeatedly assured that the fronts are legal. think it was about 300 all in,perfect job and aint had my collar felt yet. well not for the windows []

so it was bandit who started our mini group buy on the green filters! nice to put some faces to the names,shame i didnt have time to try the whiteline car,but the volvo at the roundabout stopped play. cheers to dipsy for the words of wisdom on fitting the filter

stay on that road myself, just outside crieff almost always use it for going to perth. personal best in my old my00 was 12 mins to perth. and my other halfs from auchterarder so i used to use the kinkell bridge road twice a night every night, great road in the summer at 1 am!

out for a bit of a run today and saw a few scoobs out and about, any of them on here? rb5 in the green welly shop car par,tyndrum wr1 between tyndrum and dalmally black 03 sti in oban dbm classic wagon and silver classic saloon about 2 minutes apart between crieff and comrie also came across a collection of jap cars out for a run in oban,an mx5, 300zx, skyline and 3 souped up supras- especially liking the white one with the castrol rally graphics!

hmm,maybe not related but twice now ive filled up my 05 uk sti with optimax at the same services in edinburgh and 5 mins afterwards(when i hit the motorway) during advanced acceleration the car has cut out and thrown up th engine check light. had it checked out by the garage and they said the computer showed dirt in the wastegate. so on a 4000 mile car,wheres the dirt coming from? only ever happened in these circumstances

ive had the same thing happen twice on my 05 sti, garage had a look at it and said it was dirt going through the waste gate. great things test tracks arent they[]

one thing to definitely invest in is an optimate battrey charger/maintainer, you leave it hooked up all the time and it monitors the battrey charge and tops it up as required. killed three battries on my bike before i got one of these,nothing worse than a no start on a sunny day!

definitely the carbon fibre, im planning one of these myself unless i can come up with the money for the seibon one i saw with built in vortex generator!
