  1. hi and welcome, like steve says come along to the meet on wed and you can have a look/run in a few diffrent models and the rest of us anoraks, ahem, 'enthusiasts' will be happy to give you advice on the diffrent models and specs. but beware once you hear and experience a scoob theres no going back [] actually steve from nairn is thinking about selling his mega spec wrx, have a look in the for sale section cheers Dave
  2. at last the sheds replacement breaks cover! very nice Dale, cool colour too [H] now hurry up and get rid of that peashooter on the back []
  3. heard you rumbling out of tescos tonight as i was going in, you out to put a towel over a parking bay for wednesday? []
  4. true, but the girlfriend can ourun me [] if its like it was today were laughing! wheres dale with a weather and midge forecast when you need him! sti joy, whereabouts were you driving/staying? hope you enjoyed the roads, hospitality and weather. if your back up again give us a shout, most of us dont bite []
  5. can i just ask that everyone going on this one offers a ritual sacrifice, family loved one first born etc to ensure that we dont get p###ed on by the weather! right off to grab a goat from the field next door
  6. not sure stevel be able to cope with the step up in power! [] you ready to disclose your new motor yet Dale?
  7. depends on what you look at steve, the sort of cars you mention have horrendous servicing costs and parts compared to the impreza, hard to believe though that is! at least with the scoob if you dont run it you dont spend on the fuel, servicing is on time intervals and has to be done even if its only done 100 miles. its one of the main reasons i wwent for the sti rather than an evo. also with tvr youve got to factor in the breakdown costs-if you meet someone with one thats never given them trouble they probably bought it from a talking dog too! but if you include s2000s or 3.0 z4s etc then they wont be too different is this at all related to the link about selling your car? it isnt fooling me, ive put two and two together- you with the chance of 'something special' and Dale saying he wont have his car for much longer- youve bought the shed! []
  8. o so you can find time to go to portugal but not to come to the meets eh,your priorities are all wrong! [] be good if you could make it along either at the start or when we get back to inverness bout half 8. there could be a 22b joining us so then wed just need to get a p1 and ross in his rb5 for a limited edition round up! Dale, your the sort of person who laughs at their own jokes arent you []
  9. thanks for the support guys, although there seems to still be a bit of confusion as to whether or not ive jumped the gun [:$] hopefully itl be sorted out soon and il let you know the official title then stephen. providing i have one []
  10. drinks for me eh? very generous steve cheers! [] yep dale,it looks like most of the scoobs over here are too shy to come out and play, i think im going to have to get more aggressive with my recruiting. maybe a bikini car wash at the next meet would bring in a few more []
  11. getting near to the next meet and probably the last one with a run mid week for a bit, so thought id try and get some interest from people who are new or dont always read the events section. usual time and place as stated in events, followed by a short run then back in inverness about half 8 for some grub, provisionally at the snowgoose next to tescos, so anyone who cant make it for 7 come and join us there. anyone heard anything from gee wr1 or jason from the first meet or ross with the rb5 from the second? also like to take the chance to officially unveil myself as the new Highland RO and once again say we need more scoobs from inverness!! pleeeaaasssseeee! cheers, Dave
  12. thats bad dale but my girlfriend of the last 4 years is currently in cuba on holiday for two weeks with her folks and her mother specifically said that she didnt want me there as it was a family holiday! [] bloody inlaws! someones getting rat poision in their tea when they get home...
  13. i used to have mintex ctech discs on my old impreza and they were certainly an improvement over the standard setup without being grumbly. you should keep an eye out or check breakers yards for someone selling the brembo discs and calipers off a new age sti like mine or craig macs, a good cost effective upgrade. after all they manage to keep saving my ass on our runs []
  14. sounds a good idea, think il offer to wash all the neighbours cars too!
  15. yep another vote for aplan, they were almost half the price that gary moulson quoted me, and understood about mods and ppp. charming young lass i spoke to, think her name was claire? seemed to really know what she was talking about. Dale, you trying for a surprise unveiling of a new beast on the 20th?
  16. thats goood news! i had the same thing with an old car, but had to get the engine stripped and the valves reground [:'(] it cost a lot more to fix than youve been quoted so go for it, just make sure its done right and there shoulddnt be a problem mine drove 100% straight after it was sorted so that shouldnt be a problem.hope your back on the road soon
  17. i cant believe youd be travelling at speeds to need one of these dale, you should be a fine law abiding citizen like me []
  18. getting back on topic for a second, i take it from the first post that you go offshore in two weeks blackisler? any idea what date your back and wel try and fit a meet in with it. god knows we badly need some more guys from inverness area, and its always good to meet a new face/bonnet [] ps, al those words strike fear into my heart,im afraid i was born with short arms and deep pockets []
  19. i see this is turning into an im up later/drunker than you competition! hopefully thisand 3 bottles of vino make me the winner []
  20. you either have insomnia or alcoholism steve! im the latter []!
  21. jeez dont you lot ever sleep! [] looks like the 20th it is unless someone has a prefered date? usual meeting place then a run and grub along the way, only this time with everyone knowing where were going and some contact no.s exchanged. i think butchers boy did 3 or 4 laps of the castle car park last time!
  22. all hail king of the lucky barstewards! so whats your excuse for lagging at the back now steve [] thats seriously good news though, did he sort out the check light for you? you realise if you put it on high boost you might be able to keep dales shed in sight!
  23. slow down? na,you just need to uprate your suspension and brakes [] but seriously its a good idea steve, like i said before the idea is to travel at a pace your happy with and i reckon a few others would be quite happy to hang back a wee bit. it shouldnt make a difference if we all know where were going and have contact no.s as we seem to be setting a pattern of stopping to reform halfway through anyway. maybe we should make it 3 groups though, medium , fast and dale! hes going to think im picking on him soon [] so let us know what you other guys think, who else would like to hang back a bit? you ready for your trip to mr f on friday steve? maybe thatl change your mind about going slower !
  24. thanks for pointing that out dougie, the car park we were in was for a tourist attraction which had been closed for several hours and we were with the cars at all times. they were only put in the bays for the photos then moved. my mum had to use these bays so im aware of not blocking them if theres even a slight chance of someone who needs them being there dave
