Get it checked asap by a subaru dealer, mine done this a few weeks before the gearbox went and it ended up costing me two and a half grand. Same sort of thing after a good thrashing with an evo, so get it checked out. Hope this helps.

Pele i am so sorry to hear about your misfortune. Just glad you are all ok. Was tony with you was he ok coz we were only chatting that afternoon? what happened? and was it local coz i saw a big comotion going on down the road from me that night. The roads this time of year are deadly. Still you have your health which is more valueable then any car. Hope your insurance pays up quickly so you can get back in the scooby seat soon. All the best from all of us at my place.

No i havent tried them but i`m now in a postion where subaru have stripped everything down includeing the box, putting the bits back together at £95.00 an hour is not an option now, i`m afraid its new one in........ and the old one in da bin, it covered 140k so must`nt grumble i spose.

<< I was paying about £1000 for a rebuild (had 3 of them!), paid £500 fitted for a second hand box (did this twice!!). Box number 6 is a 6speed. Cost me £2200 fitted. All then talk about gearbox casings being weak is tosh, its the chocolate gears that subaru fit that are the problem. If you are having a standard rebuild carried out, be preparred to save up for another one at a later date, as 300bhp+ with an uprated clutch=strained gearbox! And 90% of the time its 3rd gear that goes. Nathan >> Wel its not good news....subaru have stripped out my gearbox and stripped it down and its unrebuildable.......so its going to hurt , a very very painful new gearbox is needed at a cool £2.5k . Tel me why does it always happen before christmas ???????? guys have you seen the exorcist the bit where the birds heads spins round, wel my missus does a wicked impression with all the swear words tooooo. Still there giving me a 3yr parts and labour warranty on it with all my mods on the car . Looks like the kids are having nuts and fruit for christmas this year lol.

<< Lol , your right there, Michael the owner is the nicest bloke around but he cannot get things sorted out !!! They take forever to order things in and always say they can get it the next day etc .... Shame really its a good business to have in Kent >> I agree loony michael is a nice guy but ordering stuff is a frigging nightmare, nice setup which could be a very popular place , location is good to. Michael if you read this SORT IT OUT SON ..........LOL .

If it is impossible performance then be warned. Had dealings with them last year, they lived up to there name then. It may of been a one off but i`m never going to them again. Good luck !

subaru walldonway £900.00 all in .......gravesend transmissions £900.00....sanspeed bexleyheath £900.00, going the subaru route as i`m getting a guarantee from them.

funny subaru did mention it may of been the strut brace that blew it, also there said something about no win no fee ermmmmmmmmmmmmm
-
Ok guys heres one for ya ! I`ve blown 3rd gear , i`m having a gearbox rebuild next week but i being told that the standard boxes can only really handle 300bhp is that true? but then i`m being told thats its the quality of my clutch kit, i`m running on an organic ap clutch kit. Its not a wrx or sti just a uk my99 box with the above mentioned clutch kit pushing out 321bhp. Mind you it was fun the way it went though bye bye my05 m2 evo8 . You should of seen the look on his face a pure picture. Anyways any suggestions weather the standard rebuild at subaru will be ok or not? A few unamed garages were trying to pressure me into a 6 speed box but £2500.00 fitted before christmas is just not possible. Anyone have a my99 box sitting around? Any suggestions would be most helpful . Thanks paul

Wel the saga is over, for future referance guys it was a wire leading to the pump feed up in the dash somewhere, apparently there was a break in the wire, it took a subaru mechanic 4 hrs to locate. £4.00 in materials and £200.00 in labour which i`m not moaning at, subaru did look at it very quickly for me, it could of been alot worse. So thanks to everyone who tried to help me out on here. THANKS GUYS

There is power at the relay but beyond there nothing, i dont have a spare key so it looks like its off to subaru monday i think thats if anyone else can help that is.....please please pretty please
-
think so but the lights have been there for 6 weeks now, so cant see it being that, like i said before it done it yesterday somewhere totally differant, but started, it runn but was missing really badly after a few attempts of trying to start it.
-
cant risk doing that , live on a busy road and temp traffic lights out front, and i`m not going to be able to push it back if it dont work. It was playing up yesterday in a totally differant area and its never played up at home ever. So the saga continues..............
-
just tried it and no goooo it didnt work either.
-
the doors etc are locking ok using the fob.
-
I have a secs data monitor and have already done a ecu reset via that. No fault codes showing on the monitor.
-
Wel belive me it has got an ecu fitted ..............................and deano yeh its does have the factory immobilizer and alarm fitted, it locks and unlocks ok.
-
Ok guys i have checked that there is no power to the pump when turning on the ignition,i have checked that the pump works fine, all fuses in side and outside are all ok, i have found what i think is the fuel pump relay and that all seems ok, so where the heck do i go from here???????????????????????????????? all out of ideas. Anyone!!!!!
-
Is there a fuse for the fuel pump? If not, where's the relay for it exactly? Story so far: Car was running fine all day (UK MY99); parked up yesterday, then it wouldn't restart when I went to use it a few hours later. It just turned over & over with no sign of firing. Now this morning nothing it wont start and no sign of the pump priming, pumps only 9mths old so surely it cant be that? Multimeter shows no power going to the pump with the ignition on - am I missing something, because I don't think there's a fuse for the pump? I guess it could be the relay (which is presumably somewhere behind the dash?) - As always, all helpful pointers appreciated! Cheers, paul
