I personnally think it should be brought more in line with rallying i.e engines restricted to the same power output across the board.........then we should see who the best driver is.
Some great roads up there like you say.
Stayed at Lochinver a couple of years ago and must say the roads from there to Cape Wrath are the dogs. Was only in a little alpha 147 but still had a ball!!

Best way forward is not to worry about it as you only have about 300bhp compared to his 330, so you are bound to get smoked!!!!

Stick with standard, if you want nice noises get an induction kit fitted. []
Have run a couple of different D/V 's in the past and they do nothing for performance.........just a noise!!!
