  1. I had the same problem with my import at first. It had Yoko's on and they didn't like the rain or roundabouts.I put Toyo's on and it was much better, but still not right.I(read Dave @ AWD) replaced the front anti-roll struts with White Line parts as the original plastic one's were on their way out. Then I got Target in Perth to sort the geometry(to the prodrive settings). The car then handled much, much better.I don't have any experience of the tyre's u mention, but I hope some of the above may be of some use.
  2. Is it just me or is the standard of other peoples driving getting worse!!!! In the past 6 weeks I've been crashed into(twice) and tonight I nearly died when a van pulled out right infront of me. No one seems to indicate anymore, old people clearly have eyesight & spacial awareness issues, and why do bus drivers drive within an inch of your bumper? Also, anyone else noticed all the signs in Edinburgh urging us all to vote yes to paying to go to work ,or even for a trip to the shops.(the congestion charge/tax) The last time I got on a bus I was in the middle of a domestic ,along with kids spitting tissue through their McDonalds straws. The nutter always sits next to me,I can always see the relief on the other passengers faces when he sits next to me........thinking thank god it wasn't me. I did try cycling for a couple of years(nearly 1500 miles in two years!!)but I got knocked off several times and it was becoming dangerous. Also,u try breathing while cyclying up Leith Walk stuck behind a bus.......... busses push out huge clouds of smoke, this mixed with cycling uphill makes me think the healthier option would be to get a taxi whilst smoking a ciggy or two.Except for the fact that taxi's cost an Optimax(alot). Also, did u know that a train produces more CO2 etc than a car(in terms of a train carrage of say 50 people doing a journey from A to B/10 trips in a family car carring five traveling the same journry from A to B......it was on top gear....it must be true:-) SO VOTE NO! NO! NO! The council paints half our roads green and says it's now illegal to drive on the road that I already pay tax for.12 years ago the traffic in Edinburgh moved more freely not because there was less traffic...........it's because we could use both lanes of our roads. They created the problem to an extent and now want to charge you for it. It's your road.........ask for it back.......... Long night at work/dealing with arrogant t0ssers all night/scooby still in the bodyshop/sorry/rant over/have a good week folks/do u agree?
  3. Hope u get it sorted and back on the road soon m8.
  4. U2 are great live, but not for £60. U might want to get on the pitch as the sound is horrible in the stands.
  5. Lizzy.....who sings/plays bass ,I thought Phil was dead?
  6. http://www.awdmotorsport.co.uk/ I go here........they are very good and charge £410+vat for a 90,000 mile service.
  7. Hopefully my cars fixed and out the bodyshop by then,so hope to c u all on the 26th Feb. Keep up the good work , hopefully c u then .
  8. Cheers guys, I'll let u know how I get on ,hopefully a plan will come together on Monday. I guess I'll have to settle for GTA3 or Need for Speed on the PS2 for the next few weeks........
  9. A very good run is from loch tummel to /and round loch rannoch. Loch Rannoch is 24 miles around, with very little traffic as the road doesn't lead anywhere. There are a few roads round that area that are great, with terrific views(the queens view). Just don't push too hard if you go there(and u should go there)as there are several sheers drops and your car doesn't have a roll cage(or maybe it does:-) I've done this run in an Honda S2000,EVO 6 & a BMW M3,very interesting with rear wheel drive, the four wheel drive real comes into its own on these roads...........although the M3 felt like it was on rails, great chassis. Not my cars(the Classic Car Clubs). Was planning a run up later this year in the Scoob, but maybe not anymore.(re;Crashed Scooby in Edinburgh)
  10. I think they'll help(we chatted on the phone). Anyways, parts could be interesting. Mine is a STi and the bonnet is made from aluminium. Are the UK classics fitted with aluminium also,or are they made from something heavier.?
  11. WRX Mania....thank you.........I called them and I've to speak to Derek on Monday.........cheers. Coulster.....I can see where you are coming from, and I would feel the same if the tables where turned. To be honest, the only reason I'm cool is because his insurance company are going to fix my car without giving me any hassle. Otherwise I might not feel so. Anyways, thanks to u all.......... Cheers for now:-)
  12. Coulster-----I should explain that although you have a point about "if the shoe was on the other foot" I would deffo get charged, but to be honest the Police where really very good, they went out of their way to help and I feel that a compliment to them is in order. They would have charged him I think, but he was a true gent and admited to myself/the police & his insurance that it was his fault & took full resposibility for his actions. His insurance company said it's ok to go to Nobles(just get a quote first). So I don't mind under those circumstances(i thought they used a bit of common sense myself) Also the cars not a write off......it doesn't look so bad in the light of day..............so I'm just going to be without a Scooby for a while whilst waiting for parts/repairs etc......... Still not a happy bunny & possibly going to buy another car(scooby most lightly/although I quite fancy a change to a Pulsar/or even the darkside ...........ok maybe not:-)
  13. Thanks WRXMania....some good advice I think.(do they work on imports?) Thanks to the rest of u,any advice gladly recieved. Happy motoring and keep an eye out for what the punters are doing out on the roads...................u might be good........but they sure as hell can't drive. Keep it coming guys............... cheers
  14. SOME DOZY OLD TW*T WENT THROUGH A RED LIGHT AND SMASHED THE FRONT OF MY CAR A COUPLE OF HOURS AGO. SEVERAL SCOOBIES PASSED ME WAITING FOR A FLATBED TO TAKE MY CAR HOME..................i think one was hanging about so he could nick parts if I just left the car there(he passed me three times)...............!! I FEEL SORRY FOR THE GUY THAT HIT ME NOW,AS THE FIRST THING I DID WAS SHOUT "WHAT THE F*%K ARE YOU DOING,YOU JUST WENT THROUGH A RED LIGHT "......I THINK HE THOUGHT I WAS GOING TO PUNCH HIM(I WANTED TO ). SO NOW I'M THE PROUD OWNER OF A F***ED CAR WHICH CAN'T STEER/HAS NO FRONT END/AND F**K KNOWS WHAT ELSE. CONSIDERING THIS IS THE SECOND TIME IN THREE WEEKS THAT SOMEONE HAS HIT ME I'M NOT A HAPPY BUNNY. I know the car can be replaced and no one was hurt, but I love my F*^*ing car and I am so pissed off right now!!!!!!!!! I mean,it was a red light,.....that means stop.........not "aim for the big shinny Subaru". Luckly the guy was honest enough and even admited to the Police that it was his fault|(although they never charged him for going through a red light?) So if Andy from Jvs is on,I might be coming to c u about getting a new car over the next few weeks!!!! Also, where is best for body repairs around Edinburgh?I don't want some dodgy garage that the insurance company want to use if they decide it's not a write off.(I'm going to sell it if thats the case anyways,it'll be a nice shinny motor for someone to drive, but too much bad luck with this one for me) I need to go chill out now.
  15. Anyone know if Seafield Coachworks in Leith is any good...............someone....anyone?
  16. Where in Edinburgh to get this done?Any recomendations? Also,my wheels are gold, but I want them to be black.............stupid question........but can this be done/if so where? A happy New Year to u all.
  17. AND A MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU ALL......... HAVE A GOOD ONE...... C U ALL IN THE NEW YEAR...... CHEERS
  18. Great.......thats what i wanted to know.................thanks Jamie. (ps I met u at the AWD openday earlier this year, nice car, hope all is well with you, cheers for now.)
  19. ANYONE?
  20. Hey all,can u help. Just got a puncture and I'm a bit skint.I have TOYO's on at the moment with plenty life left in them.I have three good tyres(Yokohama) from when this happened before and I replaced all four .I know should get two new Toyo's for the same axle when I get a puncture.........but I was wondering if it's OK to put two of the Yokohama's on? .....thus two Toyo's on the back and two Yoko's on the front?(at least until mid Jan when I've some cash again) What do u think?
  21. The "Fuel Thing" is mainly talked about as many of us have Jap imports. In Japan they use 100 and 102 RON as unleaded and super unleaded. In the UK its 95 and 97(or 98.8 for Optimax). So we tend to use Optimax and octane booster, just to be safe. However,I'm sure that everyone else and my self included would tell u to use Optimax all the time. After all, what's the point in buying a Scooby and running it on crap fuel?Poor performance and probably more problems for the car in the long run if u run on 95 RON . Anyway, all that's left to say is Hello and ENJOY!!
  22. How did Dave run at Crail this Sunday?Did he better his fastest time in the AWD pulsar? Hope ur all well . Cheers
