<< I am as guilty as anyone for not responding as soon as I should. Stuart for example has been in need of work in the past and on some occassions was fitted in after hours. On other occassions however I'm sure he got frustrated due to not getting me on the phone when he called. >> Yep this is true and i did appreciate the help at that time. << ps I apologize to anyone who's calls/emails have gone unanswered recently ! >> It's ok just make sure you answer mine promptly next time i call << pps Does that get me off the hook >> Oh ok then. Just make sure you rebuild my engine and remap for free next time....cheers Stuart

Cheers Johnny and Grovit, thanks for seeing my point. Cheers to Chris also. I know you were trying to help and to Fee if she echo's the same thoughts. It is not the best to see that other people also are having the same problems as me. I think Dastek were good, they only need to get a grip and sort themselves out and i would quite happily give them another chance. Hope they are listening...... Stuart
-
<< Fair enough about the phone calls.....but you can hardly blame them for being booked up. If you can only manage this week at least they're trying to squeeze you in......they could have just told you to bugger off. If you're not happy with that, take your business elsewhere >> You obviously don't get my point. It is just plain rude not to call someone back and to try to slot me in but to still have me hanging is not the way it should be done. I would understand if he had siad there no room try another week but to "try" to put me in and keep me waiting is just the wrong way to go about it. Just like most things in scotland there are too few places about for rolling roads. Dastek know they on to a good thing.
-
<< thye have always been very good. the results the get are very accurate, however i have seen recently that they dont call back as promised. thats fair enough as they are busy i suppose. i sometimes forget to call clients back as i have 1001 things to do. probably the same case here. although frustrating !! results yes, phonecalls no. >> They may be very good as i have found also but calling people back is part of business, and customers do not value companies very highly after problems like these. I also get very busy in work but always make sure that i call everyone back as without customers there is no business and in work there is also something a lot of people do including me as part of earning money.....OVERTIME!

For those that dont know me i have been having a hesitation above 5.5k on my motor for some time now. I have changed just about every sensor and tried everything i can think of and many others have thought of. I thought by taking my car on the rolling road for a diagnostic session i might be able to work out what is wrong with my car. So last friday morning i called Dastek and left a message with the woman on the phone for Paul to call me back asap. He never called me so i called back later only for her to say he had got the message but she would get him to call asap. I was driving when he called me at 6pm so i couldn't answer it and funnily enough when i called back 5 mins later (when i had stopped at the side of the road) nobody answered (as you would expect at 6pm on a friday). I called twice during saturday with no reply from the phone at all. I called first thing monday and got Paul and said my troubles and what i had said to the woman on friday and he said he would work out his schedule for the week and call me back later. I said that this was my only week off and i needed to try to do it this week. By the time 3.30pm came i thought i had better call him and he said he was going to call me but he would have to go away and try to fit me in but promised to call me back before he closed that night. He never called but i called Yesterday again (tuesday) and he said that he might be able to fit me in but could he call me at a moments notice so i would just drive through when he had time. Now for someone who doesn't have things planned and is sad perhaps this sounds great, however sitting by the phone waiting for it to ring isn't my thing. I told him this wasn't acceptable and just like i had said earlier in the week i need a time. He said he might be able to fit me in next monday (obviously next monday is not in my week off!) but said he would call back after he talked to his mechanics. I am still waiting for that call right now and i don't intend calling him back AGAIN and wasting me time (which i don't have a lot of anyway) and money. My complaint is that after my previous 2 experiences of Dastek (which were all great btw) i find myself being rather annoyed at the lack of customer service. In my job if i didn't call a customer back as i said i would, let me just say i wouldn't have a job anymore. What do you guys/gals think of the way Dastek has treated me and what would you do and do you think i am being unreasonable about this? One addition about me is that i don't tend to say much but when i do i like to think i am usually correct. Stuart

Oh god look at Andy's advertising LMAO

<< These units make such a difference to your performance and SOUND. >> They actually make the sound a lot more of a raspy sound until it warms up and arent the main fator in making the car sound louder, that is what a downpipe/centre/backbox does most of all. The reason they make you more power is to do with gasflow through to the turbo and allow you to run lower boost for the same power. BUT only if youy map for this change as with most additions. Stuart

Ok guys/burds I know you have been waiting for me to appear and here i am. My first car was...um....this scoob and i got it at the young age of 25. Loved it since i got it and have done a few things since...only a few My modifying has always been the quest for more torque and in doing so i am on my 3rd gearbox, but a good one at that an sti6 that will take more power. More power is to come (hopefully) but nothing beats a good driver down a backroad....so wilky (and playstation ) watch this space! 1. GUMBALL ..............04 STI WR BLUE 2. Peter The gruppe s ones are an HKS replica (HKS are unequal btw) and are of really good quality. There is not much between the gruppe s ones and the GT spec although i have seen both and i prefer the quality of the gruppe s ones which is why i went for them. If i were you i would look on scoobynet and in the group buy section as gruppe s are doing them shipped for a very good price direct to you as a 'gift' if you get what i mean. Stuart

Come to expect it? I have never said anything much before, you can ask anyone i hardly talk as it is. I was just wondering what torque you got and making a point. I think my first point for a long time anyway. You seem to have a lot to say on here so i thought i was allowed free speech? I would guess about 340lbs/ft at that power at about 1.4/1.5 bar.

The late model 6 speed would need a rear diff also. You will be limited to the gearboxes you can put in without changing the rear diff. I can send you a file that list all the ratios of gearbox/diff that would allow you to make your mind up. Be aware that a 6 speed with rear diff might set you back at least 2.5k-3k !!! (and try finding one too!) Another option might be to get a late spec sti5/6 box and diff like i did and it is geared to about 160mph but sits at sane revs for motorways. Will still set you back nearly 2k inc fitting though. Talk to David @ API (01926 614522) who knows his stuff and can supply most of the subaru gearboxes. Just tell him i sent you. Stuart

For low/med boost and mods then 0.7mm as the boost goes higher then 0.6mm then 0.5mm for very high boost/power. I run 330bhp/320lbsft and have a 0.6mm gap. Hope that helps Stuart
