  2. WOW ..... :D atleast you get to drive the scobby every day now :D

And on a good point .. All that insurence money to spend on the scooby if your stuck for any where to park the focus we could get it recoverd to the yard if you want, let us know and i'll phone little steve for you :D

cheers trist, yeh the scoob everyday! :D bl00dy petrol though :P... as soon as i find out what i can do with it, i'll keep that in mind mate cheers, i can't get hold of gary at mo, so i've covered the car, it looks terrible :) .... can't sleep, just keep hearing that horrible noise!... and hoping now the scoobs gonna be ok

i might have to turn to drink.......................and drive my car into a parked car and do a runner...... na :D

  3. i don't know if they got him with the booze still in him, but they know who he is, he has a bad record. i won't find out anything untill monday,

i'm just so numb at the mo, got a stinking head cold, didn't sleep last night, and my daily runner has been busted by a drink driver!..

paranoid now, keep looking out the window to check the scoob, and make sure no-one is helping thereselves to the parts on focus, can't shut the boot, i've just covered the car over now, but really want it on the drive but then the scoobs got to go down road... grrrrr :D

  4. was woken up by crashing and other horrid sounds, a speeding D/driver hit my ford focus on the rear quarter sending it in the hedge, i parked it over the road 50yards away so i can work on the scoob on drive...on a 30mph road he clipped a fiesta mirror parked behind me and then hit mine, it ripped his front wheel and hub clean off, he just missed one elecy pole, (he would of hit this if my car weren't there !...) on 3 wheels he went a further 75yards clipped another elecy pole and ended up on a drive 10 inches from the house opposite, ... he was driving the ford thunder, big version of the ranger, beer can on the dash, and it's his dads company with sign writing all over it, the police know him, he is an a***... he done a runner, i see him stagger out the cab and "legged it" .. the cars a mess, but judging by the difference in damage, i rate the focus estate far superior to the ranger!!...at least i got 4 wheels still attached...the impact broke his rear cab window, but not on mine, i found the lock from the filler cap actualy on my drive and i had grease spattered over the scoob!!.....

i'll get some piccies up soon, i want to go and retrieve some bits from inside the car.

  5. hi mate, welcome to the club, i just bought my second scoob, a year after selling my first one (which i had 4 years) that was a my96 wagon, this is a my94 wrx saloon, and bought it off ebay from a chav  ... stuck to my experience and went for it (£1500) ... spent about £650 putting it back to how it should. lots of things changed renewed and rectified!!!.... main scaring is underside where he drop it on top of his jack... (car is low on coilovers)

    it's nearly there,

the piston which would give you grief is no3, this is the one that would get hot due to running lean, parallel fuel rails cure that one. piston slap as plug mentioned, but a lot of those were put right by subaru on warrenty.

you have experience with motors then you'll know if its a dog, scoobs do like to rattle a bit when cold, run slightley uneven for a mo, then they settle down nicely when warm. my car rattles like a good'un, sounds dodgy when cold, but sweet when warm, this hasn't worried me too much, hoping a change in oil may cure this. if the cars modded it's not a bad thing ...... but if it is and the owner knows nowt about what has been done whilst in his care..then somethings wrong eh!?.... mine looked like something out of fast and furious....gone through halfords shop window..... and then broke into by another chav i presume...... all sorted now :D. i like a challenge, but after all thats why they call me insane 'clown' lol

    waffle waffle!!!

    good luck,

  6. welcome back................it seems like people cant stay away frm a Scooby for long

    yep...couldn't keep me away

    welcome back plug  ..

it must be that rumble, i've spent most of my time so far just cruising to & thro ........ with that vibration going through me back..... mmmm

  7. yeh agree with those who say no!!!

just a poor mans coilover kit, just look at those 'o' rings and rubber washers......what are they for and how would such flimsey conponents stand up to the everyday drive of an impreza, let alone accasional track use.

what were you after?.... lowering, uprated, or both ?

oh yes ...i'm sitting on some nice cusco coilovers  .... i pulled up 90 mins ago and i'm still bouncing

  8. i had flames from my uk wagon :) .... with no gizmos......exept a nice zerosports ecu, plugged in and got shocked :)...

i had full decat, 18psi, bailey d/v, k&N induction, ..... was best in top gear, 4/5th, quick spurt on the juice, and lift off.... bangs and flames everytime, on order. scared the pants of anyone with in 100foot ... then went apexi power fc route, got flames on the remap whilst on r/road... then nothing after, sold the car 8 month after that, this wrx doesn't even pop!!! ....

  9. :) i only paid £1500 for this old wrx, ok i've spent £600 to put it back to spec and sort niggley bits out, i know it's a 15 year old car, but with the usual scooby fun.... what could i have bought? .......

and yes when our gardener was working ..he has an identical scoob, and i had my green one last year, everyday we would talk, compare, advice, and just look at each others cars........ certain employees did get the ump,.. i didn't care

  10. hi mate, you basicaly hit the nail on the head!.. you say 'waffle' but your just expressing what you think and how you feel, think it's great that these cars have this affect, i get stick at work because i talk about it all the time and love just looking at it!.... comments like 'well you can't beat my 1.6 vauxhall zafira!' or 'my focus tdci will do 120 and still get 30mpg' ......... they have never owned or driven a scoob...(i still have my tddi focus for the work trips to save fuel but scooby goes the odd day)... it drove me mad after i sold my other uk wagon last year, and the way things were going it looked like i'd never get another.... it's only because the intrest rate is low i'm taking advantage..........and loving it....

    i'm waffleing now too :)

    good luck!

  11. LOL...nice one matey, sounds like a nice car. i made it for just over a year before i gave in and got another classic, i'm so fussy with it .. only due to get back on road after a month on the drive putting it back to spec and tidying it up... it's like a drug isn't it???!!!... i've been like a dog with 2 c**ks ever since..

get some piccies matey, ..i'm yet satisfied to get some decent pics of mine... :)

  12. hi mate, yeh non turbo is well ok!!i was going that route untill i worked out the money side and thought.......sod it go for a turbo, but i have a tddi focus for those everyday journeys so i'm not worrying about fuel... to be honest, if you enjoy driving then you don'y have to be going at 100ph all the time to enjoy it... the GX will serve you well ;) it looks the part, who needs to know what's under the bonnet, they have 125bhp don't they?...you can still have fun with that :icon_salut:

good luck to ya matey, a very nice looking car you got.

  14. total waffle... don't even try it, all it is a resister cost 7p!! ... they have put it in a nice case so it looks the part,. all the resister does is change the voltage so the ecu thinks it needs more fuel, these people should be locked up for selling crap, this has been going on years.

worse thing could happen is at random if the resister is a wrong voltage and it tells the ecu ...no fuel....BANG i defo wouldn't take the chance even if it only cost 7p and you tried it yourself,...... what they are saying is they have worked out the correct voltage for every car to get that little bit more fuel in.... and bought all different rates of resister to suit every car!!!!!... they have gone down to the local electrical seller and bought a bag full of bits,

  15. i'd just order a pallet, £80 + won't matter to much about weight then, if you do them as parcels you'll get stung, example>>> a large photo copier 2 feet square, 29kg, £54 + ...... (on ebay) uploaded the transaction on to parcel2go and they picked up and delivered for less than a tenner ..not on a pallet though.. no need!!.... but shop about and try different ideas...(oh and it was dhl...the same people i phoned before :D )
