  1. oh blast!!!....you mean they make these things B) ... thought i was different useing a cheap bit and grinding half the ash tray off :) ...i don't use the radio much spose thats why i put it there...i'm a bit paranoid too where i park it and hoodies want a closer look .... can't see this walking passed.

are you getting the clip you mentioned?....stick some piccies up if you do (if you got the commander i spose would be handy :iagree: ) i'll try anything.

  2. I keep reading queries on where peeps are putting ther apexi commanders, it's a problem and don't want it standing out like a sore thumb eh!...and what with the cable, so being as i have a few bits and bobs for phones, i found a small adjustable holder, had to adapt it a bit the get a good fixing, then where to put it!..i looked at the ash tray..i don't smoke so out it came and in to the shed.. i took off the round handle type bit..and smoothed off, attached my holder and fixed back in the car... i then tucked the cable along the centre consul out of site, and this is what i got......just an idea for those scratcing heads :)post-3839-1199360634.jpg

  3. Sorry - I wasn't having a go at you. My dealings with Keith Michaels have been less than satisfactory and from recent postings I've seen on here I am not alone. They're not an SIDC website Advertiser and offer no additional discount to SIDC Members (if they did, they'd ask for a membership number), but they are happy to lap up all the recommendations. That is, in my opinion, wrong. It's taking advantage of the Club to gain business whilst giving nothing back to the members who pay for the Club to exist.

yes Andy, fair comment, and to be honest i thought as they were at the time a couple of year ago 'recomended' by sidc as such there was a discount, your right ..i didn't get asked for my number, and they are brokers?... i didn't argue as the were cheaper than my last insurers (AA)... maybe it's about time they did something for the club?...i'm not knocking them, but you are right again, they have got alot of business from here,

i know your not having a go mate, i could bite back but i see the fustration in the text so no probs, whats the point when theres other things to think about :) i understand :iagree:

  4. Thats the big problem with gauges... the more you have the more you worry!!!

tell me about it,...since i've had the apexi & commander i'm continuesly looking at the knock readings, ect... and the gauges.. religously keep it below 3k untill temp start going up 85-95 is about the norm in mine..only on the higher value on motorway type roads :D cough cough

  5. all the best mate, we never met but we're all very familar on here enough to wish you luck at least!...

i know what you mean about running cost..i dread using to scoob now, ..considered getting a diesel.. in last couple of weeks, things are changing and getting hard..

    good luck

    mark

  6. strange,...i had nice red flaps...........from a wagon on to a wagon but when they argued with the curb and the bumper got involved i gave them to me mate and they went straight on to his saloon...

i can't see any reason why they won't fit the same :D

iain...did you sort out your clear indicators?.....just found my old ones ... replaced with crystals

  7. yep get every day, the little chavs just love to get in the boot and sneer at you, this is where a flame kit come in handy, i had flames before without and they do keep the distance...the huge bangs were enough anyway,...but 90% of scoob drivers will acknowledge you, sometimes you'll find you'll wait for each other !!..

kids love scoobys, old people don't seem to, you'd be supprised what the oap's will do to to get on yer teets.

there is always someone wanting to drive faster than you........you drive how you want...i risk nothing.

welcome to the club and scoobyship

  8. strange one, i had the theory that it was a home made second stage boost selecter, do you know if the ecu is chipped?....but the earth wire is a puzzle, best thing to do is lift out the passenger side carpet and see if the wires (should be two) go into the ecu (located under the foot plate, you can unscrew this no problem and expose the casing of the ecu).... all the switch will do is activate the J1 resister or not, thus giving you the standard map or when switched this cuts out the circuit through the J1 resister and has to use the chip for a more potent map,..........long shot i know..

or it could be nos

had another thought, ..... could be a crewd immobiliser switch... and didn't work, i used to do the same thing with old fords, from the coil earth to cut it from starting up, but scoobs are a bit different!!!

  9. hi mate welcome to the club :) as for first question ...don't know... ;) ... exhaust...depends how loud you want, defo go with de-cat centre and decent back box, keep it stealth with 3.5 and comfortable noise levels, or go 4.5 jap style for a bit more roar and head turning kind of raw noise, i use a TSL 4" gpN box which is middle the road. if you go for full de-cat then i'd get a re-map to benifit, but if theres any other little bits you want done then do them first, ie: injectors, filter/induction, intercooler,... but i would defo get a walbro fuel pump, i did the oil pump too (roger clark uprated) then get yer re-map... you may have the ecutek ?..www.ecutek.com (so you don't have to change the ecu) mine is older so i had to ge an apexi, supplied and mapped for less than £750, uk wagon, bits and bobs, my96...311bhp :brickwall:

  10. hi mate, welcome to the club, plenty of scooby fanatics here!!....pic a topic have a look and post away. when you reply to a thread (thread is what you started) you can click on 'reply' which includes the post you click from, or click 'add reply' which gives you a blank page like i done here. i'd better double check i got that right!!!......

  11. Lets hope so, im not convinced it was 250ps out of the box that is the factory qouted ps on the release of the car. I could pull away from newage wrx no problem and my mates 280wrx classic coulnt keep up on the Autobahn either! Got dusted yesterday on the autobahn by my mates sti4 i was doing 150 and he just sailed past lol. But he broke the turbo a bit later on in the day and popped the rear crank oil seal. Currently i think mine has more poke from the stock ecu, plugged the Apexi in admittedly its so much smoother but i feel its took a bit of a power loss! Only the remap next year will tell the tale!

thats what i thought compared with my old zerosports ecu, same boost but that was raw.. sure it spooled earlier too... and had flames with it....not even a pop so far with apexi!!..see what you get on the day stu :kerstsmiley:

    print out

  12. I will be using the TD05 too Mark. Already have Alloy flywheel and pulleys so hopefully that will reduce the inertia!Mine has forged internals as stock so it will/should be strong enough. TBH im not that worried about the figures just want it to drive better! Gonna get the chassis sorted to be able to put the power down, it would be great to have 300+ but what is the point if its alles uber die platz lol. Once its done will let you know what she makes mate you must be well happy?

you'll see more than mine i recon no probs, i was supprised being a uk motor, in the back of my head i was thinking 280bhp...wanted 300 though... think thats enough as it is and on std uk gubbings!!.. seriously i think yours will be super, set up right, nice and safe.. go for ever... plenty of torque too i recon

i've got that feeling now that i just want to get in the car and drive and try it, i'm checking for knock on different parts of the road and how i drive on it, so i get an idea what it likes, ... it feels like i'm at the end of the road already when i try it!!.... i'll see if i can scan the print out and post it on, got a good curve, no blips, or sudden changes... :kerstsmiley:

  13. Crackin figures there Mark, are you running standard boost? mine will be similar spec but ive got the AVCR to go with it. Going for Harvey Smith headers and a Hybrid FMIC. Ive got some 44o,s but might up that to 550,s

hi mate, yes using standard boost equipment but he mapped to 1.2 bar, and put lower levels on the controllor if needed. got paul to map it for everyday use, hence he missed out my pops and bangs!..and he bared in mind the uk engine is stock...but he said the engine was good and strong... the other thing was the amount of power loss after the fly wheel, came out at 250 bhp at wheels, suppose a different more suited turbo and 550's would bump it up considerbly, .. good strong box and heavy duty clutch, lightened fly wheel then should get closer figures at wheels to the fly?

  14. Really am chuffed for you mate, they are very good figures, bet your over the moon!! Must say your Scoob sounds awesome aswell! :kerstsmiley:

cheers matey!....i would of settled for 300, so i was pleased with 311, heart was in mouth though, the noise was horrendous,.. happy for the car too, this was a test.. and it seems the gearbox is original with 155,000 on it  . newer engine though  it'll do me for now :D

    Hey

does sound pretty sweet, out of curiousity, what tuning have you done to get it to those figures?

Hi, the sound inside the cabin is quite, all beit a little rasp, i've lost the deep thump coz of the headers, they are unequal length but very free flowing. it's full de-cat with TSL group N back box. the mods i've added to the standard uk wagon are: walbro 255, K&N induction, 440' injectors, roger clark oil pump, roger clark s/s headers, full de-cat, front mount intercooler, Apexi power fc & commander........have a look at the garage section for info...oh it has the std tdo5 turbo too

    cheers!!

CHEERS KEV!!....certainly feels quicker, haven't yet give it a blast proper yet, but i'm missing some bangs and pops...and flames...so it may have to go back and have them sorted :madnoel:
