i've been looking at these as well - does the angled one make any difference (apart from being £20 cheaper) ?

I wrapped some tape around the shaft then dropped a metal washer down which is held inplace with the tape, when the gaitor is refitted it wont drop because of the washer so no metal shaft showing

DR Motorsort have a Jap Stle spoiler which uses just the origional holes, there's also a STI7/8 sopiler which uses just these or can use 2 more for better holding
