Selling Up 98 Type R and many mods new in box!!!
GrantyBoy replied to GrantyBoy's topic in Scottish Scoobies
I could keep the Scooby as a second car with a limited milage policy, it is another path I'm considering. If someone offered a good price then I would sell, but I'm not under any real pressure to sell. See what happens... -

Sent you a PM Russel the other day, did you not get it? -
Hey Folks I went out to buy a flat screen TV at the weekend and landed up buying a house So I'm thinking I'm going to have to sell up as I doubt I'll be able to afford the mortgage and the running costs of the Scooby. So the car: 98 STI Type R 72000 miles Imported by Newera June 2004 and I'm the only UK owner Modifications carried out by BHP Developments Just had major service by Glenburgie Subaru, clean bill of health Always warmed up and down Optimax with Octane booster in every tank Mods Fitted Apexi Boost guage with knockink in A pillar HKS Pannel Filter HKS BOV H&S De-cat down pipe Full HKS Hyper Exhaust with removable bung Gold Speedlines with new T1-R rubber all round DBA drilled and grooved discs (new and being bedded in) Red Stuff pads (new as above) Walbro Fuel Pump Car has never seen a track day and only been on the 1/4 once. Now the parts sitting in boxes BRAND NEW and yet to be fitted to a car. Can be sold seperatly or with the car depending on the buyer Hybrid FMIC GT Spec Gen II with up-pipe Apexi AVCR Apexi Power Intake GT Spec anti-lift kit Cusco rear brace Apexi PFC with Commander (this is second hand but in top nick) Think thats the lot but I may have missed a few things. Depending on the car I will sell with all mods to the new owner to be fitted or if the car sticks I will look at selling off the goodies, cue vultures via PM to reserve potential bargins Looking for 11k ono WITHOUT extra mods but open to offers with potential buyer. Cheers

Center CAT needed for MOT in ABZ still not passing :(
GrantyBoy replied to GrantyBoy's topic in Scottish Scoobies
Well I'm soaked after rolling around under the car. Only had one jack so didn't get under the car fully. My center CAT and Kens double CAT are both 137cm. I placed Kens CAT under the de-cat pipe and saw it's approx 2"-3" too short. So I guess it must be the backbox is throwing things out But what I don't get is I thought downpipe's, de-cat pipe's and back boxes are all the same length. Regardless of the make. Has anyone ever had this type of problem before. Guess I have to find a friendly MOT station in the meantime. -

Well the car went in again today, and failed. I've been told the Ken special double cat center pipe is about 1/2 a foot too short. Have I got some stupid exhaust system on? Away to crawel under the car and measure each section. Any ideas as to why why car's isn't playing the game -

As usual you hit the nail on the head, CAT supplied is about 1/2" too narrow as well. Sent Ken a PM. How much does it cost to get a CAT that would fit my car for future use and where would be the best place to get one from? Ta
