Rear Brake Discs & Pad Relpacement
Montythegod replied to scoobytypera's topic in South East England
Try the above.... it can be a bit of fun as the rear disc is also a drum for the handbrake... I did my rear discs, pads and handbrake shoes and had fun getting the handbrake adjusted back to its original state... -
count me in for a tunnel run.... been a while and my flamer needs a good airing..... and does my camcorder, so may need a passenger to video !

I have it on very good authority, that the show is an indoor show only, meaning no onsite clubstands, no babes and strictly no alcohol. Onsite driving is only for the cars being displayed in the indoor arena. Although clubstands have been advertised the showground hasnt authorised them as there is nowhere for them to go, unless its in the indoor arena, then there will be no room for the showcars if all the clubs have a stand that usually attend... The £8 per car is parking only in the field next door as the only cars onsite will be the cars in the indoor arena.. Dont get your hopes up, but because of the problems at the 2007 show all the fun events have been banned by the showground...... SO expect an indoor only show similar to the kit car shows that happen at the showground. I will probably attend anyway I am sitting the the showground offices as i type this...

I would look at the plumbing, the vaccum pipe that runs to the dump valve need to goto a good vacuum point, ie on the inlet manifold and check the dump valve is actually closing properly and has no air leaks. you dont quote what dump valve you have as Bailey did a few different types, but like the old rs turbos, scoobs prefer the twin piston dump valve type. what you say is typical of the older style dump valves, as the engine goes to cut out, the vacuum level increases and opens the dump valve, which then increases the revs and so starts the surging or unsettled idle you mention. I have a bailey twin piston one on mine and it works ok, I have also had a few forge ones and they have been fine, but i found with experience a good vacuuum pipe from the manifold works the best ! ( Ihad a few blanked off pipes on mine i connected to )

Sheared Classic Driveshaft ! With Pics...
Montythegod replied to Montythegod's topic in South East England
I put new drive shaft in it for him today ... been out ripping up the gillingham link road as a trial He's just had a 6peed jdm box installed and yes was very worried thats what had broke... Not to sure on total figures at the moment, but last time Zen performance worked on it, it was mapped to 450bhp and around 450ft/lb torque, but the actuator needs replacement as its gone weak, its a setup good for 500bhp and will be back in the new year for its actuator and remap.. And jumping back in my 343bhp scooby was depressing as it seemed too slow ....... -
Got a call from a friend, just did a hard 1st and 2nd gear launch in his 2.5 converted Classic.... and lost nearly all drive. I suggested he had blown a cv joint.... He managed to limp home with a knocking noise, I went round next day took off the wheel, removed the CV and drive shaft, finding the following : Now he is running 450+ bhp but i couldnt believe how neat the shear was ! what do you reckon on that ??
