  9. Got a letter from Subaru UK (IM) today, saying the car is now on the warranty database - so much for Iain Pyke saying it would never have a warranty. I suspect Fuji in Japan told IM to behave themselfs. That was after motorpoint gave me a written statment saying they would pickup the tab for any warranty work. So that would be an end of the story. One very happy chappie now Ed
  10. I confirm what steph says. Got a letter from Subaru UK (IM) today, saying the car is now on the warranty database - so much for Iain Pyke saying it would never have a warranty. I suspect Fuji in Japan told IM to behave themselfs. Mines got the Sti seats with the blue trim and the cut outs, much better looking that uk version. Ed
  11. I always thought cars where to be serviced by mileage or time ie 1,000 miles or 6 months which ever came first. That car should have been service every year at least, if it's took 10 years for the first service and he came to sell it, It would raise a few eyebrows, The only miles on it must be going for it's MOT's. Ed
  12. I touch goats mate. Cheers Ed
  13. I take it, it uses black wires at the alarms fuses, if so tell the mob who fitted it, to get it fix ( I take you did pay them and it wasn't a pal of a pal who did it), Nothing worse than black wires (they do it to confuse thiefs), It took me 4hr of solid work to remove my old imobliser and alarm and to get the car working, so that will cost you a forture for a auto spark to do. Ed
  14. What does it say, I can't get that mag at my shops, only get ford type mags like fiesta and escort. Ed

  24. I was done a few years back near calander at killmahog for doing 43 in a 40 zone just before it goes back to a national speed limit. I did try to fight the case but the police pointed out all speedo are designed to read high they will never read low unless tamped with or wrong tyres ect. so it it says 40 on your speedo you are doing about 37-38mph so mines said 45 and I was doing 43. Even using GPS my scooby says 70 and the gps says 66, my works corsa is worse at 70 the gps says 64. By the way I got 3 points and 30 fine from the sherrif in stirling for contesting it. Licence all clear now. and radar and gps coming out my ears now. Sorry for your mate hes done. Ed. Ps. if you say you changed the tyre to diff aspect ratio they will pob just do you for breaking some other reg. it's a no win case. Edited cause I am a numpty and put High and low back to front above.
  25. Well in about 4-6 weeks you will get a letter from a Mr Pike at Subaru UK telling you as you bought it from an unathorized seller you are new registered for warranty. Sorry mate, untill you get that letter you can't do anything. There are a couple of links at the start of this thread. Have a read. Ed
