G19 Gtr Stolen - Time Attack Car - Edinburgh - It's Back
Neofox replied to Fee's topic in Scottish Scoobies
Bugger! I just saw Adam in it on wednesday morning, he kindly let me out of a junction i had been sitting at for 5 minutes stuck in traffic, i was in stealth mode in the van. I'll be driving all around Edinburgh and local areas so i'll keep my eyes peeled, i've let some of my colleagues know about it too, see if they spot anything. -
Damn!! That sounds like you've got yourself one hell of a track toy now Dunc!! You'll have to let me know the full spec would luv to see what you've done to her!! Very jealous!!! Ian
-
I'm jealous mate that certainly looks like it gonna be one hell of a track weapon!!
-

-
Cheers Yeh after selling the scooby i've just been working crazy trying to save for new car, but decided to take a breather and play with the camera! Only thing is now i'm fancing a 1D Mark III (must resist!) Hopefully get to meet up with folks through christmas.

Yeh couldnt resist the lense, need something to pass the time! Must resist the TV have to remember CAR FUND!!! Too many toys and it will be years when i can get my next project. Type R with a nice steel wide arch kit and 500bhp that sounds about spot on
-
Bah! Cant believe i sold it Spent 6 hours on wednesday just pottering around cleaning and polishing little bits and pieces just didnt want to say goodbye really. BUT onwards and upwards, I have a couple of plans of action and if the right machinery were to pop up i may be back to impreza ownership aslong as its got a reliable 500bhp I would just like to say a huge thankyou to all SIDC members i've met up with through my 3 years over ownership, the club and its members are what have made ownership all the worthwhile! I'm not a huge poster as you can see but i do login everyday to read what the daily goings on are and i will still be hovering around. Hopefully i will still catch up with everyone at various events and with the immenent arrival of my new camera lense I'll be posting up all the antics that i can get along to where the club is involved. Duncan i'm thrilled that your loving the car, it is a beaut even if i am biased Ian

Spotted the car a couple of days ago on Gorgie Road in Edinburgh, i nearly crashed my van!!!

Guns in hand!!!! Christ thats what i was thinking as Mr Bandit pulled up at my flat, i thought World War 3 had kicked off! Grinning like a 13 year old school girl at a Busted concert Mr Bandit bounced out the not so dirty chariot, he was certainly a happy chappy. As for the remap, well that certainly has improved things alot! Heck of alot more punchy in the mid range plus it just keeps pulling to redline. And yes the overrun is certainly a fun feature, although not sure if Mr PC Plod will find it very happy, but adds for an accoustic drive. Good on you my man! Finally some peace and quiet in the evening now eh! I'll just have to annoy you with my plans now [] Ian

Yeh shame to see the left lane timing equipment buggered, mind looking at the state of Crail as a whole its pathetic! Nice to see the white classics ripping it up the strip though, they certainly sounded and looked the part []
-
Hey just thought i would post these, popped into Crail in the afternoon for an hour, was passing by in the works van. Was pretty quiet at 2pm dont know if it had been busier earlier on in the day but weather was good, little wind and cool and dry.

Hey, well i enjoyed heading back down to my hometown to stay with the old folks and venture out for the rallying. Excellent weekend as per usual not bad £5 for a programme and with some creative thoughts thats as much as you need to spend, great value for money! I took a few pics, the best of which i've put up on my site http://www.stillspeed.com Hope you like. Ian

You should be working not browsing the web!! Still dont like that low slung scoop makes the nose seem far to long. Mind i hope those alloys come as standard [] Ian

Hey welcome to the club! I was up in Orkney last week and saw a newage running around think the reg ended in TOY. Was suprised to see so many Impreza's considering fuel costs and lack of V-Power!!
-
Managed to see the car at the Lothians meet and all i can say is hats off to you Andy. Sticking with it and producing a car that is stunning without comprimise is a huge task which you have pulled off. The attention to detail is top quality i know definetly where i will be going for bodywork when i start my project next year.
-
Does anyone happen to have the 1997-1998 Manual? I d/l but never opened it and now when i went to look at it it doesnt work []
-
Cheers Geo, once i know more from the garage i'll give u a shout if i need anything []
-
Hey Geo. Apologies for not getting back to you personally but as i said the car is back at the garage that fitted them. Both droplinks were fitted with washers on both ends as i had a nosey after it was done, i just didnt think much about the angle as i thought it was just meant to be like that. The only one thing that keeps cropping up is the arb damage but upon inspection i could not see any noticable dent or bending, if there is then its spot on semetrical bend!! suppose i might get it uprated to the whiteline front arb but dont really want to go that hard up front.
-
Aye got the whiteline rear droplinks and anti-roll bar and touch wood no problems with them except for a week bit of creaking!
-
Thanks for everyones input i do appreciatte it. Car is now sitting at the garage so i should find out tomorrow what he plans on doing. Was wondering anyone out there with a 97 V3 Sti with the factory anti-roll bar and whiteline droplinks? if so would they mind taking a picture for comparison. Thanks Ian
