  1. Please can you PM the guys number to me too? Looks very smart! Thanks, Mark
  2. Any suggestions? Last time we went to Creme de la Creme but I guess that's not an option anymore! Needs to have easy access from the airport hotels and ideally with parking outside. Cheers, Mark
  3. Message from Angus (blue Masserati Spyder)
  4. Hi John, Another great day as usual! The weather was even kind for November! Did anyone get any photos of the Masserati Spyder which I can forward to Angus? It was his first time on track and he had a ball! Cheers, Mark
  5. Should be clear, all the roadworks on the bridge are now finished. The new A8000 replacement is also open which takes you around in a loop from the M9 at Newbridge to join the A90 just before the bridge. Have a safe trip, Mark
  6. Had a similar problem with my MY02 STI UK. The heatshield on the up-pipe came loose and made a terrible vibration at ~3000rpm. This got worse and eventually it started catching on the steering column. Had it fixed under warranty by S&S. Fortunately it never jammed the steering. The same problem reoccurred this year and I had all the heatshields on the headers and up-pipe removed and heat wrapped instead. Mark
  7. Blue bug STI, was there at 3pm, didn't see anyone else Mark
  8. Hi, I might be interested in it. What car is it for? Saw AndyF on Monday and was told that my neutral position switch was flickering on/off and causing the active valve control to not work properly. Apparently you can either replace the switch or modify the existing one to make it sit better in the gearbox. Anyone know where/how you get to the switch on a MY02 STI (bugeye) ? Mark
  9. So is 85% duty enough margin with the 20G ???
  10. I doubt they wil ask to see your membership card ! They also give a discount on the labour rate if they supply the parts so could be worth giving John Swift a call to see much he can source the bits. Mark
  11. According to AndyF's website the standard 500cc injectors are okay for 400bhp, so why do you think I might need 550cc ? Still don't understand why a catch tank is need either - but that's just my ignorance ! Mark
  12. From what I've read the standard panel filter is good for 400bhp and a front mount will just make the car more laggy. Plus I see both these items counting against my aim of keeping the car driveable and reliable ! What the reasoning behind the fuel regulator and the oil catch tank ? How do these improve performance ??? Mark
  13. I've used Extreme Motorsport in Whitburn for tyres, brakes & suspension and never had any problems. Don't forget to quote SIDC for your 10% discount. Mark
  14. Thanks for all the advise. My aim is to improve the performance without compromising the day to day driving or the reliability. I also want to stick with sensible mods that won't completely distroy the residual value when I come to sell in a few years time. My plan seems to be: Ported & wrapped headers incl replacement up-pipe TD05-20G replacement turbo Ecutek remap I'm hoping this will get the car to 370~380bhp and 330~350lbft but I'm not really chasing numbers (honest!). Hopefully I'll have some before & after road dyno plots to post up once the mods are completely in early November. Please shout if you think I'm missed something important ! Cheers, Mark
  15. Hi, anyone with experience of this mod ? Car is currently fitted with a Power Engineering 3" turbo back exhaust system, uprated fuel pump and ecutek remap and producing approx 315bhp / 310lbft. I've been told that the TD05-20G is a drop in replacement and that the car will achieve 360~370bhp after a remap. Can anyone confirm this ? Any thoughts on turbo lag & general driving characteristics afterwards ? Anything else to consider at the same time ? Headers, etc ? Thanks, Mark
  16. Be careful because the stick on weights will quite often foul the front brake calipers if you have STI Brembo's or aftermarket AP's, Alcons, etc...... Mark
  17. Spooks, that would be great ! Are you around this week, we could try to organise the swap before the weekend. Cheers, Mark
  18. If anyone is travelling up to Alford from the Edinburgh / Livingston area please can you contact me to organise the return of a crash helmet to JohnS. He'll be wanting it for the track sessions ! I'm in Kirkliston so could easily meet anyone who's on route. Thanks, Mark
  19. Bit of advice - if you get a good quote of elephant then try Admiral for one as the 2 are connected & sometimes Admiral are a few quid cheaper!! Note that the level of cover between Admiral & Elephant can be different. For example Elephant automatically include full European cover, for Admiral it's not included and costs extra ! My Elephant renewal for a modified MY02 WRX STI was only £450 although this jumped to £510 once I told them about my wifes recent SP30. I was also surprised that adding Business Use to the policy only added a few pounds ! Mark
  20. I have 2x worn RE070's available. One has approx 4mm tread and is quite evenly worn. One has approx 3mm tread but is looking a bit sad with more wear on the shoulder. Mark
  21. Terrible, terrible news. Paul was a huge character and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Our thoughts are with Kate and all Paul's family & friends. Mark & Alison
  22. Looking for a local sale if possible Link to "For Sale" forum Brand new 17" wheels & tyres The wheels are the standard 5 twin spoke design fitted to the new age STI but factory finished in anthracite. The tyres are the new Bridgestone RE070 especially developed for Subaru in 225/45/17. They are a fully road legal semi-slick design, with a hard wearing compound that offers outstanding grip in the dry and predictable wet weather performance. Ideal for trackdays! Photo of wheels fitted to STI Available for immediate collection in the Livingston / Edinburgh area. Unfortunately these will NOT fit a classic shape Scooby, the rear tyres will rub the inner wheel arches. Offers to mlydon2000@yahoo.co.uk Regards, Mark
