  6. Hi guys, thought I would get a bit of advice with a problem with the Scoob. I recently had whitish smoke coming from the coolant system and a funny burning smell so got a rad hose replaced as the coolant was definitely leaking and dropping. This seemed to help for a while but recently I am getting the whitish funny smelling smoke again from the area underneath the expansion tank/air intake. The coolant doesnt seem to be dropping as much, a little maybe. It doesnt happen all the time but is obviously worse if I am really driving the car. It also seems worse when the heating is on. I realise there may be another small leak but would appreciate some advice from you guys. The car seems to run ok, its just annoying to get the smoke and the smell when idling etc. I check the coolant and temp level daily. Thanks in advance
  7. diolch i chi ac rydych hefyd (did I get that right?!)

  9. Welcome ! Love the blue hoses look - sounds good.
  10. Great ! - a bit of weather wouldn't put off fans of the great man!
  11. I wish I lived nearer (I'm in Scotland) cos I would have been there in a flash. Good luck, hope it goes well. Always in our hearts, eh?
  12. Oh no - it's DB Scoob again. Hi all, I loaded up the Forum the other day and thought I had went to the wrong site - totally 'modern' man, for a minute I thought I had went to the Ricers Forum lol. Very nice - if a little slow but maybe that was at my end. (cool new emoticons too - watch it all, it's funny!)
  13. Hi Stano, I did consider Halfords but wasn't sure about the fit. I got the cover on Gumtree second hand and there was only one - its a perfect fit including the spoiler and says it covers WRXs up to '07. It does sell new on Scoobyworld for around £80 - its good quality and lightish so easy enough to put on. To be recommended. I put it on tonight cos its freezin fog tonight here and was frosty this morning. Hope this helps. Oh, I should have added its a Voyager Impreza car cover if you're lookin for it on Scoobyworld or on Ebay - I think there was one there available for less when I last looked.
  14. Just working on that - took some recent autumn pics of the scoob , waiting on the weather improving for the cover pics (its raining again in Scotland, who knew!). Plus I just got new plugs on the motor today and its running beautifully - roarin like a lion! Seems faster too.
  15. Hi - update on the car cover. I had a think to myself and decided to put myself out there and contact the seller on Gumtree as recommended by ccrien as it looked like it would be a good fit. I was a bit unsure as Gumtree is usually cash locally but I got in touch with the seller and put my faith in a scooby owner! He has been great and after arranging payment the cover arrived today and fits perfectly. So good news all round, and no frost/snow on my scoob this winter Thanks again ccrien, that worked well. And thanks guys for the other suggestions - the Forum is really helpful.
  16. Good to hear you enjoyed the trip - interesting story. Quite an achievement - I thought I had done well too when my scoob make it to Pitlochry and back last Monday (only about 150 miles!). Best wishes.
  17. Thanks for that ccrien - had a look, it looks a good quality one. Will have a think and see what works best for me, Im not short of options now. It looks like my bugeye's gonna have a coat for the winter after all ....
  18. Hi there - thanks guys for the quick replies (im a poet now!) - anyway Scoobiefloz - I saw the one on Amazon exactly the same as the ebay one you recommended but it does look like a Focus in the photo and I had doubts about whether it would fit over my spoiler and would then have to be returned at cost so thats a maybe. Johned - I hadnt thought on Halfords so had a look and there are some good reviews on the website for their covers, it would be easier to return and swap too if necessary so that could work for me. Will let u know .... watch this space.
  19. Hi there folks! I have decided to get a full waterproof, breathable etc car cover for my pride and joy this winter. The car is a daily driver but I want to keep it safe from the elements and ease removal of frost, snow etc. I measured the WRX and it comes up at 14 foot 2 (or 432cm in modern terms) so I happily ordered a cover up to 14'2" but this proved to be too short - I think its my STI style spoiler thats causing the problem. I then ordered one up to 15' but it still comes up short! I am fed up returning and re-ordering so decided to come to the Forum for some advice. There is another cover available up to 17'6" but now I am doubting myself and unsure about ordering yet another useless cover. I dont want to spend too much on it - the ones Im looking at are around £40-50. Would anyone be able to recommend a cover or a place to buy the cover that would definitely fit? Any recommendations would be great, thanks.
  20. I wish you luck - it sounds like an adventure. Just remember, on your long drive to Turkey "If in doubt, flat out".
