About Pommy

  1. Welcome mate, looks nice, I like the classics in green think they look quite nice.
  2. Well I filled up with Shell's finest today, then changed the spark plugs, two of which were completely gone, now the car is running as it should and pulling proudly. Very happy with the result. Thanks for the advice
  3. Starting to think it's the petrol. All started after I filled up in morrisons (only place available). Because I'm new to the car I forget to fill up at the shell and then don't realise till I need petrol and am no where near a shell. So today I will go to shell and fill up with some v power and hopefully that will fix the issue.
  4. Definitely a Subaru Specialist near me in Richard Henry, Am going there for a meet on Thursday. Doing a sparks and oil change tomorrow anyway, been planning to do it this week anyway so with abit of luck it will just be a bad plug.
  5. Comes up with file size being too big, and max upload limit is 0mb for non paying members. Dissapointed.
  6. Yes I understand it's bad and I won't be doing it again, but could it cause the problems described?
  7. When I try to set a profile pic I only have the option to use a link, however it will not import from any links i can find, both on Photobucket or from photos on here. Any suggestions?
  8. No i know, but it is right next to work and so so easy. Would that cause the boost issue though?
  9. Have a turbo 2000 that isn't running properly. As soon as on boost the power isn't coming smoothly but is jerky. And the power isn't as high as it should be. When revved freely without load everything sounds ok and the turbo sounds like normal. Have fixed the front calipers from sticking. So what else can it be? And any candidates more likely than the other? Will running it on 95 Ron have this affect? And maybe a service? It something more severe? Is there an easy way to check for leaks in the system that would lower pressure?
  10. I'm very hopeful. The more forums and clubs active the better for everyone, the more information and help and general chat available. I will try and post more on here just to do my part in making it busier and busier.
  11. Fortunately this car is relatively clean from rust, a couple of bubbles on rear arches but clean underneath. Had a mk1 mx5 before this which was welded a couple of times and lots of surface rust. When a bit warmer plan on getting underneath, giving it a clean and then spraying with some stone chip, a couple of layers gives good protection from any rust and is nice and cheap.
  12. Thanks for the welcome, although I have to say the pictures make it look much nicer than the paintwork would suggest. Lots of stonechips on the bonnet
  13. I have to say it is a bit sad to see a forum this quiet, granted I have only joined recently but looking on the main page the last time people have posted in many forums was 2013!! I joined because my car has a SIDC (from Impreza driving clubs) sticker in the back window, will check back now and again but is very um encouraging for a new member, in fact if I hadn't had the sticker I wouldn't have even known of the forum. nothing comes up when searching for advice or help for impreza's in general. Seems a bit sad really as it looks like it used to be a very busy and fun club. But oh well, I will be back in the hope that it picks up again as it seems like it could be amazing. But for now I will be more involved with the other forums.
  14. Hey everyone, I bought my UK Turbo 2000 about 6 months ago and have been a regular on some other forums, hadn't even heard of this forum until I looked at the sticker in the rear glass and saw SIDC.... SO half wondering if my car is known to anybody on here? Seems to have spent a lot of its life in Wales, Reg is W959 AFR. The sticker says Subaru Impreza Drivers Club which I believe was changed a while ago? Anyway they car is pretty standard at the moment with just 4-pot front upgrade and aftermarket cat back exhaust. Looking to upgrade the car in the future, however fixing some small problems at the moment. It seems that the last keeper didn't have the funds or the care to look after the car, fortunately he only had it for 7 weeks so not too long to mess it up completely. If anyone knows the car would be good to hear from you.
