  1. hi, I did see these but think for the cost I can prep my existing one. So I then tried to find new replica spoilers for sale, as these should be ready for paint.
  2. Hello,I am planning a small amount of bodywork restoration on our Blob WRX.The STI spoiler is showing its age and has started to bubble and lose some lacquer. The bodyshop suggested it might be worth looking for a new replacement rather than hours of prep.I have had a trawl of some online Subaru parts shops, ebay and facebay but they seem to be in short supply.Ebay does list new grp replicas from either Poland or Germany, anybody got experience of these? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SUBARU-IMPREZA-2-II-02-07-WRX-STI-REAR-BOOT-SPOILER/373328250802?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SUBARU-IMPREZA-7-8-REAR-BOOT-SPOILER-STi-WRX-tuning/252718081207?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649 thanks
  3. I had low charge in the battery (WRX 05 Blob) yesterday, car had sat since Sunday, the alarm wouldnt disengage. I am blaming the cold snap we have had this week as after sticking it on the charge for a hour or so, all was well. Will be going for a blast tomorrow to get some charge in her and then keep an eye on things before deciding if I need to look at new battery etc.
  4. i have stuck a reminder in my phone until I buy a festive season "TV Times" to circle my choice in marker
  5. my car is fitting with one from previous owner, never set up the subs when I bought. some insurance companies wont issue the car without it but generally get a good deal from others. I stay in a good postcode anyhow, maybe if i was city centre I might be more concerned
  6. i have a very slight sticky lower piston on n/s/f, hoping a clean and new seal kit will do the trick need to get new discs though, decisions on what type
  7. do the mot's tie to the mileage ecu should log it
  8. I just ordered Goodyear F1 Asym 2's today to replace the Bridgestone RE050 that are on. Cant complain at all about the Bridgestones but heard good things about the F1's, so will see how it goes
  9. Are these ok for just normal driving or do they require a bit of heat in them to work? a fair amount of the WRX miles are just normal road driving by the wife so don't want to anything too track based. So where is the favoured place to pick up mintex pads for good money?
  10. great pictures of what looked a great day. I have not been since a corp. trip in 2007 when I was lucky enough to meet Colin McRae and get his autograph.
  11. was there ever an update on the quality of work by Paint Technic? reason I ask is they're running a groupon for wheel refurb http://www.groupon.co.uk/deals/aberdeen/paint-technic/3131778
  12. the new test means they should check the same number of cats as originally fitted to the car are present. not good news for many. http://www.theaa.com/motoring_advice/car-servicing-repair/mot-changes-2012.html
  13. sorry can't help with your question, I dont have flaps and it hadnt cross my mind to fit. out of interest, do you know how much bhp you have? is it standard other than the PPP kit? cheers
  14. correct, good service and explainations. recommended.
  15. I am glad I got a full suspension geometry done. Front and rear toe were out as well as front camber. 4 tyres now on the shopping list though to make full use of the adjusted (correct) setup.
  16. I agree with FMJ, pickup something cheap and cheerful to run for a start to get experience and NCB built up. I wouldnt waste money on modding it but save that for the car you really want. To help with insurance do the extra courses after passing, pass plus and IAM. I had 7 cars (Polo, 2*nova, escort, 3*Cav) in my first 5 or so years of drivng. Bangers with MOT before having enough to buy cars I actually wanted 205 GTI, Fiat Coupe, Alfa GTV, Alfa GTA v6, WRX PPP. It is worth it in the end
  17. I was quoted £130 a corner this morning for RE 050, cant seem to get cheaper. How does that compare to around the country?
  18. do you tend to change all 4 at the same time or is it ok to change just 2 (same axle) at a time? I have inner edge wear on the front, getting the alignment checked/set-up this week but thinking tyres will be needed soon. cheers a
  19. decided to go the other direction and booked in to Clark Motorsport in Kintore. £78 though.
  20. How did you get on? I have wear down the inside edge of both front tyres so will need to get the setup corrected.
  21. ok you twisted my arm http://www.flickr.com/photos/16215343@N02/6487213869/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/16215343@N02/6487213699/ cant seem to find an engine shot
  22. I really need to make a visit to PB, saw them demo at Alford during the summer. Might book it in and let them do the hard work.
  23. here goes, I am not talented with a camera though http://www.flickr.com/photos/16215343@N02/6448328991/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/16215343@N02/6448345193/
  24. Laurencekirk, so half way between Aberdeen and Dundee. Don't mind a bit of travel, as long as it includes good roads to enjoy there and back.
