Last purchase was AVCR plus an Andy F remap. Ordered customs mats, T25 spec AST kit and paid for but still waiting on 18" Advan RS wheels (5 months now) Next purchase will be to replace my Genome Defi's for the BF amber ones then I'm considering either the Kenwood DDX 8027 6.5 screen dvd / sat nav or the Pioneer one. But don't tell Julie as she reckons I've spent enough. I have a cunning plan - I'll pay my expenses into a different account - she'll never notice. [] Well until she sits in the car that is [:$] []

When I took my car down to get a knocking checked - Kev diagnosed 2 knackered shocks on drivers side. I have fancied the T25 kit and when I mentioned it to Kev he said they would be happy to fit them and set up the geometry. Imagine they will be OK for other parts.

Aye good day, great to see so many scooby's turn out - we did the club proud. We will need a trophy cabinet now. Hope the Polis I passed going through Crail didn't catch anyone! The grub was great apart from me feeding one of the girls a RARE burger. Going to miss knockhill but I think the car could do with a rest. A well off to bed 05:00 check-in tomorrow morning 2 flights and a boat later and by Tuesday I will be on the rig and straight to work. What a life - never mind it will pay for stage 2 but don't tell the wife [Y] [] PS Had a look under the bonnet oh the wee fast mini, bloody thing had a 1600cc VTEC in it - what a tool.

Good decision Wuz, as everyone has said you would have been missed! Haven't known you long but you have been sound with me and I appreciate your work, advice and efforts especially the fact that your doing it all on your time off - I know how precious that can be and realise that you do it because you enjoy working on Scoobies and being part of the Scooby fraternity. Remember to get some relaxation this time home buddy! Wetting of the bairn's head should help!

Not far from the "roaddyno" figure though Gogs ]" src="/emoticons/emotion-5.gif"> Aye but I wanted to quote the down wind figure (360BHP) [] The upwind wind figure was 330bhp so wasn't far away at all. [Y] -

Andy's right it was a peak figure and holds well @ 1.7bar on the gauge which I believe is 1.6bar on the computer and thats miles better than before. Julie took it to Asda last night and for a run with the kids the night and she was a little excited when she got back. Even the wife can't believe the difference and if it has the same effect as it did tonight I will let her hay a shoty every night [] [Y] Going to put the AVCR on self learn tomorrow and try adjusting the 3 & 4 gear boost which is about 1.3bar and see how it goes. -

Well when the hose came off it maxed out the gauge so I geuss in theory it could go to 2bar but don't think I should try that to often. -

OK Guys got back from Wallace Performance at lunch time and now have to clear a few things up. It turns out that my AVCR controller is working OK. Russell looked up the internet again to see if he had missed something but could only find 2 diagrams and double checked that he had wired it up as per my JDM (GDB EJ207 or something like that) any he confirmed he had wired it as per correct wiring diagram. He also checked the Greddy wiring diagrams to see if they had the same diagram for my 5 plug ecu and they had. He then proceeded to remove tape etc and check solder joint was OK and it was. He made a couple of phone calls to check with other guys and came back with the same diagram. Now obviously a bit perplexed he was now thinking of installing one of his own Apexi Avcr to see if it was my unit. Russell decided to stick it on the RR so he could spin teh wheels up and low and behold the bloody thing was working, it was picking up a speed. So now I'm perplexed [8-)] but this is the trap most of us non experienced guys fall into and that's listening to the experts but not taking it all in or not relaying the info correctly. Not sure what the fault was when Andy tried to set it but I will need to check. Second thing was when I said the boost hose came off the solenoid what I should have said was it came of the dump valve which Wallace hadn't touched so there you go a simple mistake by me and it looked like Wallace had messed up when they hadn't. Russell then offerred to give me a free dyno run since it was on the rollers anyway which of coarse I happily accepted and he also stuck a clip on the hose that came off so I have to say a great service and i'm a real happy chappy. BHP was 333 bhp which is pure coincidence it's the same as TSL figures, but torque came in at a whopping 378.9 ftlbs at around 4000revs and peak boost was 1.84bar. This confirms how the car feels on the road - pulls like Gogsie in town on a saturday night!! Now at the risk of saying something and upsetting someone I believe there has been on going friction between Russell of BHP of which I'm a very satisfied customer and Wallace Performance of which I'm also a satisfied customer and I wasn't aware of it. I believe from Wuz at BHP that some of Wallace performance guys have slagged off Wuz's workmanship which is not fair and as far as my experience and lots of others on here - not true either Russell at Wallace did accept that this may have happened in the past but felt he was trying to ensure that that didn't happen while he was there and from Wallace Performances side all Russell was wanting to get across is keep it off open forums as whether the point is right or wrong it can be damaging for his reputation and business which I think is fair enough. Aberden crew haven't looked to good over the last couple of days so lets all chill and remember it's meant to be fun. So boys and girls, in the end Gogsie is still a happy chappy and cars going like a good yin. Now off to wash and polish for Sunday. Wee heeeeeee [Y] [] -

To be fair Wuz - Russell did spot it at the time and did get the correct manual on his computer. He did put the speed pick up in different slot from the one that is in wiring diagram so not sure why the speed pick up isn't working yet and it could be something else but russell is going to look at it tomorrow. -

Andy I was told when I was looking to buy an exhaust system that there was little difference in the flow between the Hayward & Scott 3" sports cat and a decated system and I guess it would depend on other mods. Not that I've done any just a green panel filter, a sytec fuel pump and the AVCR boost controller. Might have been the weather as well. Don't worry though there wasn't much difference in it and you did have the better top end. But midrange torque is where it counts - He He [Y] [] What are you putting out now with the turbo mods? I'm sure it's better -

Aye I have a similiar set up Brembos, Goodridge hoses, DOT 5.1 and Redstuff ceramics. Helluva difference with the hoses and fluid but not sure about the pads. They are better but I reckon I probably need 6 pots and bigger discs. -

Cheers Squirell, I the god has bought himself a Spec C - nice motor! "The beast" was awesome - what a tool, it was up on the ramp so had a good look underneath. Andy compared my map with andyjdmsti and they were pretty simliar. andyjdmsti had more at the top end and mine was better in the mid range. I wonder what andy's set is? -

Aye well happy! I will take a while enjoying it but you know how it goes soon I will get used to the added power and will look for more. But handling and stopping need sorted it first. -
Go on Scotland Heey haa 2-1 the boys but the defense looked a bit dodgy! but it's the score that counts - get in there!!! Back on subject Got back from Andy F at about 16:30 just in time for the footy after a good day getting the motor mapped. Left Abderden at 06:30 with a moan from the wife that I don't normally get up in the morning that easily (No don't even go there Craig) but I was all excited just like a wee kid. Filled up at Loirston with some V-Power and set off with AA auto route print out in hand (Must get that sat nav I'm after). Drove down at a nice leisurely pace as I decided after Russell at WP had fitted my Apexi AVCR controller that I would leave it off and get it set up by Andy at the same time as I got car mapped so leaving it off meant the boost was peak at 0.5 - 0.75 bar. Stopped off at Horn cafe for a bacon & egg roll (Bacons too salty for me) and a coffee as Julie wouldn't get up and make me breakfast, cheek of it (Time for a trade in I think). Anyway back on the road and down to Andy F. Arrived safe and well at Port Seton then drove into Barracks street to find a dead end and no sign of a garage. After checking my AA route about 5 times threw it in the back and decided to drive around. Came out Barrack street and took the next right Seton something or other which took me to the harbour, no Garage with Andy Forrest Performance on it so now thinking OK I'm lost - time to call Andy. Call's Andy and with that he pulls in about with the van and it's turns out I'm parked right in front of his place - "now that's lucky" After 5 - 10 minutes of pleasentaries and checking out Andy's new blobeye white Spec C and wetting myself over "The Beast" got down to business. Andy hooked up all his gadgetry while receiving a few interesting packages, then off we went. Began with the usual cruise just to get the basics set up. Then a few blasts of the throttle - OK. Then some 3K to 6K revs in 4th blasts and stopped off at a layby for a few adjustments then another few blasts upto 6.5K and again a few adjustments and then Weeeeheee!!!! What a difference now pulling like a train - the difference is brilliant. Biggest bug bare I had before is that the boost would build up to 1.5 bar but only for a moment then drop off and the power was limited to between 3K and 5K then there was a very noticable drop off in the performance. Well that is well and truly cured. Did a couple of Dyno simulation runs from 1800 revs to 7500revs and against the wind estimated at 330bhp and down wind was 360bhp so the correct figure will be somewhere in the middle I reckon 345bhp but will need to do a Dyno run. When doing the Dyno simulation noticed that there was a slight hesitation at 7000revs and car did it a couple of times so Andy checked it out. Car was running rich at 7000revs as Andy wanted a good safety margin but when checked reckoned it could have been a little to rich so sorted it out and a couple more runs to check and all is well. Not getting so high a boost in 3rd and 4th 1.4 bar as I am in 5th and 6th 1.7 bar but its holding the boost now, should be able to sort with the AVCR in gear adjustment but need to get it looked at by WP as the speed pick up isn't working. Had a problem when it was fitted as the wiring diagram for rev pick up was wrong (And instructions in Japanese). Russell managed to sort it out but suspect the speed one is wrong as well so need to take it back into WP, I will give them a call tomorrow. Also on the way to the bank one of the boost hoses came off the solenoid. Thought I was reaching 2 bar and got all excited then suddenly no boost. Andy diagnosed a detached hose so pulled over. Popped the bonnet and re-attached it then off we went. Got back to Andys and andy took all his gear out, by the way if you give him a hand beware of the C02 sensor in the exhaust - it's HOT!!! and Sooty!! Coughed up the money with a smile and a tear (Hey I'm Aberdonion - I hate spending money even when it makes me a happy camper) and thanked Andy for a great job and said my cheerios and set off up the road. Decided to take the scenic tourist route to see all the pretty sites - well OK to have a blast. Forget it!! what a nightmare- drove from Seton through to Musselborough (for more fuel) - Kinghorn - Kirkcaldy - Coaltown on Weymes - East Weymes and lucky if I got above 30mph. Between 20 mile an hour zones, traffic calming etc it took me ages. Nice views over the forth though so enjoyed the scenery right enough. Once I got to Crail had a great blast to St Andrews and jesus does she go! You know when you slow down a bit because your unsure of the corner then realise it's not as sharp as you thought then stick the foot down again? well it was taking off so quick I had to back off again a few times or risk running wide . That's the real test of the mods is if it works, the added performance can be used - doesn't matter about the figures only the perfomnce and how it works as a package, well I say that now but if something breaks then no doubt I will be looking for a new bit that gives me more power (Speed should be banned it's more addictive than crack). Next it's the T25 AST kit as I need 2 shocks so name is down on the group buy. Then I reckon a brake upgrade is needed as the Brembos aren't up to the job. Hey I was thinking on the way up the road with a big smile and a wee stiffy!! If my car is that much fun what hell is Blue Thunder like. Need to get a PAX lap Craig, mind you not sure thats a good idea, I might land up having to get my wallet out again [:'(] but you definately need a brake upgrade! Cheers to Andy for your time and good work. Now crail on Sunday for a wee run
-
Aye I confuse myself!
-
Good luck Gogs...ARe you going KH? Cheers Pete! Do you mean Sunday for hot marques or the 07th October? Can't make Sunday as going to Crail and not home for the 7th October so don't think so. Although I'm trying to get my back 2 back to come back a few days early as i'm going back early after xmas to let him home for new year so might make it if he doesn't have anything planned. []
-
Aye need 2 new shocks [] BUT that makes it easier to justify the T25 kit to the wife [][Y] There's a group buy so putting my name down. Am I right in thinking you have the Tein kit? What like is it?

I agree with Frank that we could be given back issues to the value and then resubscribe when or if the mag gets going again. I think it is (or was) a good mag but I only got 1 then the bad news.[]

Is it just me or is 40k too much for a scooby (Hides under the dining table). Was on SN and there is a thread mentioning that expected price is £39995 + This takes you into Lotus 240 supercharged or Noble M400 (Slightly used) territory

Aye lucky you said that it's my 15th anniversary on the 21/09 so I need to get some Brownie points. Do you think she would prefer the Kenwood or Pioneer Double din Sat nav? []
