Andy was tpscoob and badger boy. He bough the car from a guy called Joe I think. But yes it's the mileage thing Andy commented on when the car was up for sale the last time and also the price!!

I was with Andy on that ring trip and know the car pretty well. The repair was done to a very high standard and replaced any damage with new bits. Not sure on the mileage maybe trawl through the old posts to get the info. Andy sold the car in 2013 I think, but not sure how many owners since then? Was a quick and unique car that I had the pleasure of being pax on a few times! Andy had dropped off the radar and I've not heard from him in ages. Sorry I couldn't be more help:-( Graeme

Ok so I only does it when up to temp not whilst cold and cuts out when in gear. Does it do it under load or off throttle? No check engine light when it happens? Mmmm you said in 1st post it's a my99 now not to sound like every other post but it could be a faulty maf sensor as they are particularly weak on that year model. Does it have an induction kit or original filter and airbox?? That said the starting issue could be temp sensor? What would be great is if you could find someone local with same model car and swap bits over till you get a result!! Where about in the uk are you?? Graeme

Yes totally agree with baz great day out!! Should be a great year!!

Sounds like you would be better cutting your losses and changing your ecu to a speed density one like simtek or syvex as these don't use maf sensors therefor no longer need to replace. Check AndyF website for more info. Plenty people now running these ecu's I have simtek in mine as daily driver and it drives great. Hth Graeme

Only reason I suggested it was when we (my bro) changed to the md321h he replaced some of the old pipe work with new hose but didn't realise there was a restrictor pill in it till Bob came to map his car and was having a poke round and commented on it not being able to boost without it.

I take it you have had all the pipes and hoses off when trying to sort? Sounds like the restrictor pill is missing as it won't boost without it! Worth checking as easily missed! Been there!! Someone will be along soon (Don) with the schematic diagrams as I'm not smart enough!!!! Let us know your findings. Graeme
