  1. Man, you'd need seriously flared wheel arches for that.............
  2. Now thats dedication good on yer mate Good to meet you gc8r, I'm glad you like her. I must say I'm very impressed with the motor. There is only one negative thing I would say about the car so far and that is the weight of the steering just isn't quite heavy enough, but I already knew this and I think a trip to Litchfield should this solve this problem. Have to earn some more money first tho Sadly the radio in the car doesn't work. I drove it off the forecourt and a little way down the road my good lady could not get the radio to pick up any stations at all?? So we turned around and went back. They took it into the workshop but in the end said they would have to order a new one for it, it appears to just be broken. No big deal just means I get a longer drive during the week one day The sat nav and CD/DVD player still work tho..... Other than that everything went ok and I had a nice day driving around with a perma-grin on When we finally got home mid afternoon i cleaned the windscreen to get all the bugs off (the only downside to such nice weather is loads of bug splatz) a fitted a 200mm black sun strip to it. I hate having light from even bright clouds let alone the sun coming in through the high windscreens on Imprezas, I just find it annoying. Then gave the windscreen and side windows a coat of "Rain X". I love that stuff in the wet. There is loads of a spray grease/wax on nearly everything in the engine bay so may try to remove the excess of this tomorrow.........opps, I mean today. Plus take some pics of the new toy of course I'll be speaking to the dealer about that too. Have a good day at Abingdon all, sounds like it should be good Cheers Ben
  3. I must admit the bug eye is still growing on me, but it has a long way to go................... but then what do I know, I've sold out and got a hatch, which many people would say is far worse than a 10 pinter :hl: Right, I'm going to very carefully drive to Aylesbury now, don't want to damage the part-ex .......... Couldn't ask for a nicer day for it either............ happy driving everyone Ben
  4. She is being part ex'd. They have given me full Glass's price of £6000, so it would have to be that much and I would need cash tonight as I'm off first thing in the morning I didn't really try to sell her privately as I thought I would struggle like hell in the current climate and the last time i tried to sell my Celica before I got the scoob it took ages and lost loads to get a sale in the end. Once bitten and all that............... Ben
  5. I can assure you I have too............. We have been flat out at work for the last two years. Orders just kept coming in and we were working 60 hour weeks for two years. Also doing 3 in 4 saturdays on average. To be honest I'm quite glad of the recent downturn in the economy (purely for selfish reasons) as we have had a break in the workload since Christmas. Racing teams don't seem to be having their budgets released so quickly so the teams are not developing part for their cars as much or as quick. Some racing series are waiting for money so they can get going. So I think we will be busy again soon, probably right in time for summer, but I should not complain, we are all lucky to have jobs in the grand scheme of things "you wont miss him..he lives in chesterton..." I think my apprentices may know him?? I think they said he was chris and his whole family have scoobies?? Sounds good Cheers Ben
  6. Cheers guys!! Sounds like I might have to go and see this film, but I'd rather wait till its on Blu-Ray We got given a half day at work for free today so plenty of time to return the Wagon to standard and clear out all my crap before saying good by tomorrow. I hope she finds a loving new owner see you all soon Ben
  7. Hi all I got a very welcome phone call from Adams Scooby today They said the car was in and I could collect it on saturday morning Sorry to keep harping on about, I think venting on here is helping to stop me popping with excitement I thought I may as well start a topic, then i can just dump some photos in when it gets here and when a worthwhile mod is done. I think next week at work I will rip the undercar exhaust off and look at getting rid of the mid box. It's just not quite loud enough so I plan to have a play around with it. This means also I have the sad task of clearing out the Wagon tomorrow. Will be sad to see her go after 2.5 yrs of trouble free and very exciting driving Cheers all Ben
  8. Who is that on the forum?? I need to keep my eyes peeled!!! Ben
  9. Thanks for the welcome Matty The 330 just comes with the 18" 5 spoke jobbies. They are a grey colour, so is the car. It should look quite stealthy I'm not totally sold on the wheels, but again, they look better in real life than in any picture I have seen of them. I have thought I may try and sell them to someone who has bought a UK spec STI or WRX and wanted bigger alloys as they only come with 17". Then I could get some aftermarkets?? Hawkins I've not seen that film yet, I'll just wait till its out on Blu-ray (I dont bother with the cinema any more, its **** compared to blu-ray at my house ), but my apprentices were saying it looks good in the film. I've actually not seen a new shape Impreza on the road yet The other day my girlfriend clocked one around the Tesco roundabout, but I missed it (I was probably concentrating hard on trying to get through the bloody Bicester Village traffic jam ) but it could have been a Mazda 3 gc8r Ah..................well I usually wear long skirts so you would have missed me (I don't have the knees for short skirts) (..........I'm not really a tranny ) "will have to pop round when you have the 330,that will make two in bicester..." Do you mean two 330's in bicester or two members in bicester?? Your more than welcome to pop over and cast a beady eye on her chris.......... I should really make an effort to attend one of your get togethers Here is the only photo I have of my current ride................ It had just been driven all the way down to Charmouth in this photo, so a bit grubby........... Cheers Ben
  10. Hi all I've been looking in on this forum for some time now and finally thought I'd register and say hi. I currently have an MY53 WRX Wagon in WR blue It's pretty standard but it does have the upper and lower rear spoilers (which I think looks soooo much better than just the top one), a sport rear box and I fitted a Baily dump valve. I've had it for nearly two and a half years now. It was my first scoob. I always wanted a scooby since my teens and when I got it I thought I'd keep it for a year just so I could say I had one and live my dream. I thought the running costs would be too high to keep it longer, but now I love it and have to have another, I couldn't think of anything better to replace it with!! Nothing else gives you that kind of smile on your face every time you get in and drive, but I guess you all know that So............................ I have just got a great deal on a new G3 STI 330S and it should be here next week Needless to say I'm quite excited, tho I'm sure loads of you don't like the new shape it works for me and deffo looks much better in the flesh than in any photo. I need the space in the back for my hobbies so I had to get the wagon, but now its a hatchback with the same amount of room inside I can finally have an STI..........and the 330S at that I'll be taking the Baily valve off before I part ex it if anyone is interested?? Well thats it from me, I need to hit the sack, so will try to get some photos up soon, and see you round Cheers Ben
