  1. I had my car in the garage tonight for a check up after Knockers on saturday, I had a knocking from the rear corner, wait for it.........................get this. It turned out to be the boot lid needing adjusted, around 2 minutes and a scoosh of WD - sorted!! The garage put the car on a shaker to test the shocks as well as doing all the visual and physical checks and it was the fecking boot lid. Does need a front CV joint thou
  2. I saw the black hawkeye it was tidy! I had the blue type r that was parked up just before the pits. My day was cut short between a noise at the front end then a blow out on the staight when I was gunning it. To add insult to injury I had no spare wheel or space saver (weights the enemy!) and ended up begging to borrow one. A guy with a silver WRX let me borrow his on the promise that I return it this week. What a gentleman The cars going in today if they can take the car. I'll check the track rod end and that CV joints.
  3. My cars developed a knock from the rear driver side corner, its noticable (very) when driving across pretty much any surface. Any thoughts??? Rear top mount? If it was the shock how would I know if its nacked, the cars ruuning Ohlin coilvers that have been well maintained and are in good working order. The other thing (dont you just love cars ey) is that the front has developed a cricking noise when turning to the right. I had her knockhill yesterday and thats when I really noticed it. Only when turning to the right from about 20+mph and above. Nothing stationary when I turn the wheel. Any thoughts?? Im hoping its the CV joint.
  4. Im back on this one again..I contacted AWD who had the car in for a service and they have confirmed that the exhaust is 2.5" from the cat back going into a 3" back box. (so 2 sizes on the centre section) This is apparently not unusual for jap imports. Assuming this is the case does this sound possible? I would like to keep my back box partly because they are expensive to replace and partly because theres nothing wrong with it. Its a Kakimoto - replace the centre section with a custom made piece which will fit nicely to the joint of the back box(I hear they differ from exhaust to exhaust) with a hayward and scott downpipe which i will buy, so the other end needs to fit nicely also. Thoughts?

  8. Im at the same cross roads of knowing whats the best set up, I have a Type r. Im not going to spend the money on power I would rather go for handling. Would this same set up be the one to go for then? Theres various group buys and deals as the market is crumbling. Rough prices anyone???

MMMm ive got the same problem, my deflectors had been doing my head in, they were starting creak when I reached speeds in excess of 70mph but would not have planned on removing them by leaning against them to clean my alloys and snap a chunk off. Both have been peeled away leaving the grey sh*ty residue. The lads seem to have the ideas, let me know how you go, I'll probably go for one of the safe chemical options which has been suggested.
  10. Getting a 650 fitted on Friday, £250 all in which is much cheaper than they were only a shortwhile back.
  11. sports dcat v's full dcat is down only 3bhp as an average, this of course will differ but useful as a guide.

  13. wwwaaaahh now youve got me thinking, I had the exhaust looked at last weekthe guy put a gauge on it to confirm its 3", its maybe the Dcat Im thinking of which is 2.5 at one end and 3" at the other, does that sound better?
  14. Hi Gus, you posted just as I was asking the question..the exhaust I have is 3", its 2.5" at the Dcat end and 3" at the back box end. I think...
  15. Sounds good, who's gus the bus?? On the exhaust front Im unsure if an off the shelf replacement will just fit straight on, isnt there something about jap exhausts having a different pattern at the joint so its hard to always get a match? Does that sound right?
  16. My centre section has developed an irritating rattle at around 3000rpm how convienant! Its where the resonator is, can this be cut open, removed and rewelded or is it a custom made section? If its the latter is there anywhere between Perth and Falkirk which make quality hand exhausts? Im not needing the whole thing just the centre section. 3" bore btw
  17. V5's are rumoured to have weak heads, do a search on scoobynet. Cracking??????????? I have a V4 btw.
  18. There was one which had an engine fire behind me in the pits, I felt for the guy, hope his car is ok. Not sure if it drove away??? I think the only evo which passed me was a black one.
  19. I wish my car at the white line stuff. saving my pennies...although it does have a full Ohlins set up!
