  1. U changed it after it slipped once? I made 100% sure it was knackered before i did it. It is alot of money to spend to find out the old one was ok?
  2. I just fitted a new clutch yesterday. Clutch was about 200 Crank oil seal 15 Labour 50 Thanks god for a mate who used to work at AWD I assisted although he did most of it. In total it took about 3 hours including drinking 15 beers (no i didn't drive home) Only problem we found was the bits of swarf stuck to my magnetic gearbox drain plug
  3. Looking good mate I nearly got lifted one night for being up there in the car. Used by people paying for a bit of love i believe.
  4. BC coilovers are realy good. About 600-700 all in. I fitted a set a while ago and they are superbly engineered and on the softest setting they are softer than normal suspension.
  5. Glad to hear you got all sorted out mate. Told you the fault would be something daft Not good to hear that he could not do your diagnostics as i was wanting mine checked before mapping with Andy F
  6. Did you get the car serviced/fixed then mate? Peace of piss to fit alot easier on a ramp to be honest
  7. Im offshore just now not due home till 2moro. Hope everybody involved is ok not good to hear. Bond again!! There has to be questions now surely 2 in 6 weeks
  8. The last time i did it i just pulled all the leads off the coilpack as i was unsure as to which sensor to unplug.
  9. Looks like I missed a good day hopefully make a track day later in the year depending on how my mapping goes in May
  10. I have had both a 2.5" and 3" on my car. To be honest i think the 3" actually lost me torque but i de-catted at the same time so could have been that. People recon a lowered powered car 350bhp and less drive better with a 2.5 rather than a 3 inch
  11. I don't think you need a 3" exhaust unless your aiming for 400bhp You would be fine with just an Ecutek ecu remap although Simtek's sound nice as they do away with the troublesome MAF plus you can have a launch control and anti lag added. Im pretty much standard now MY99 RB5 and have booked mapping for May and am fitting A VF23, FMIC, FPR (already have full 3" de-cat), 3 port boost solenoid. I should hopefully make about 330BHP I think your standard turbo is ok for this sort of power Alcon 4 pots are fine I have fitted BC coilovers, whiteline anti roll bars, anti lift kit and uprated drop links and it has helped the handling no end Hope that helps Ciaran
  12. Same here only rain up here in the Shetland basin
  13. To be honest the liners did there job on my car. The rust had started due to the underseal all coming off. The arch liners have been attched back on using a bit of tiger seal so should hopefully stay water tight.
  14. Cullenmin- It was good to meet you your car is sweet. Cheers again for the headers. A mate of mine has a body shop so did it all for me. Will get a pic of the inner wing at some point.
  15. Well the car looked rather tired and the arches were a bit rusty, this is how they looked before going to the body shop. Also a couple of days before i went to the body shop i woke up to this I picked her back up last week and this is how she looked after I had lowered the suspension a bit. Also my STI rears fitted although they are leaking doh!!
  16. It is of a higher octane value than petrol and there fore more combustable. Basically it is an octane booster. It is more efficient than petrol but can only be part mixed due to ......??????
  17. Has anybody ever had an engine delivered? It is coming from England somewhere. How much am I looking at cost wise? Any idea of the weight of a complete MY99 engine?
  18. To be honest that must be 1 of about 3 straights in about 20 miles im hard pushed to average 50 up that road!!!
  19. They should unclip in theory i could not get any of mine to unclip had to cut through every single bracket with a hacksaw was a right ball ache due to limited access as well.
  20. Speaking of rear arches mine are rusted as well. Luckly she is going in to get the rear arches replaced on the 10th of March. My mate is cutting out the old rusty ones and welding in new ones then painting them plus a few other rust spots. He could do yours at a very good price if you are interested? I will let you see mine once it's done to see what you think As for oils try Opie oils and quote SIDC and you get discount. Doing the gearbox and rear diff is easy but doing the gearbox is a pain filling it through the bloody dipstick takes ages
  21. Thats brilliant road indeed mate I was up there skiing a few weeks ago. I was taking it easy though due to my slipping clutch My brakes are brilliant never ever had any brake fade. the joys of having Alcon's Want to buy them windy? £500 so i can buy a set of 8 pot k-sports
  22. I have a set of BC coilovers on the RB5 have to say they are superbly very well engineered hugely adjustable.
  23. I have a full Blitz getting fitted 2moro. Will be full de-cat but have the baffle to fit for everyday driving.
