  1. Im in the same boat mate, and need to start shopping soon, and i have same amount roughly to spend! im defo gonna go for a uk model not a sti or wrx tho as insurance price, but will defo buy and few extra sti body parts for mine when i get it! good luck!
  2. cheers everyone and that link with the one for sale is lovely, ill keep it in mind and ill im defo gonna start test driving them very soon. thanks for all your advice guys, perfect!!
  3. i would love to mate, but being an import, not sure if i could afford the insurance. are the sti's as reliable as a uk model?
  4. Ray, nice one mate, perfect answer and yes im defo gonna get one, and your right, standard power might be enough for me, but i was just curious as i used to have rs turbo and always wanted it quicker n quicker lol!! thanks again mate!
  5. As im thinking of getting a 98 - 99 plate subaru classic very soon, im jus wondering if i could have peoples opinions or answers. 1) On a 99 plate subaru, what sort of mileage will i be looking for if i got 5 - 6k to spend on one?? what is a sort of good average for this year of car?? 2) Also, what sort of power can you run on the classic when still being reliable for an every day car sort of thing.?? i know it comes with like 218 bhp but if i wanna run more, what sort of mods will i be looking at to make keep it reliable, obviously exhaust system, induction kit, decat etc?? 3) And are all uk turbo models 4 wheel drive?? Sorry if these are stupid questions guys, but im just building up the knowledge on this car. Cheers Dan
  6. Cheers guy's great info!! Ive decided im defo going for a 99-2000 classic now so whatever happens, it wont be efffected by the new tax lark
  7. but saying that, ive seen this on pistonheads......im confused, its a w reg??? http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/571584.htm can someone explain and we can stop this thread lol
  8. Thats the problem mate, they didnt do the bug eye in y reg, thats why im gonna have to get the 1999 - 2000 classic.
  9. Thanks mate, i thought so but was not totally sure as seen a few bug eye one for sale saying 2000. So am i right in saying now, all new age impreza's / bugeye, will be in this new tax band thing if it goes ahead, i just need reassurance before i got ahead and look desparatly for the classic. cheers
  10. Ello guy's, as you can tell im new here and i have decided, after quite a bit of homework, that i wanna get a impreza over a choice of a few cars!! I need a little bit of help as im not sure if you can get the bug eye shape impreza wrx uk version on a 2000 plate, the only reason i say that is cos of this new tax band which is going to effect all 2001 and post cars! If i can get the bug eye shape impreza which wont be effected by this proposed tax thing then i probably will, but if i cant, its not the end of the world cos ill obviously jus get the classic on 99 or 2000 plate, which i love to. Help please guys, cheers Dan
