  1. Yeah I know it's getting proper close now, can't wait Travelodge in hamilton???? Umm... Travelodge dont seem to have a place in hamilton!?! Lol
  2. Well finally after a rather high bill of £381, a oil change and good few hours work the engine's back in and everything's back together at last. Will be giving her a quick clean 2moro then back out on the road for a few hours and make sure nothing's leaking or falls off!!!! Now time to focus on the next bits lol
  3. You've more self control than me then lol I'm very much one who wants it all and wants it now. The gathering is like the milestone to get my car all sorted so think credit card could take a bit of a battering... Just means more overtime at work for me this month to pay t off
  4. Yeah I was unsure about the car if it would be reliable enough to get me to scotland and back so didn't book anywhere up there, wanted to run the car around for a while before commiting to anything but once i get the engine back in this time fingers crossed it should all be ok so now looking at places to stay.
  5. I was planning on heading up on the friday morning as well so if ya fancy a bit of a convoy let me know... Presuming you're leaving from devizes? Also where are people staying on the friday night? Everywhere in lanark is pretty well fully booked but travel lodges around the area seem pretty empty??!?!
  6. So i'm not the only one who's havin not so gd luck with their scooby. Lucky I done the gear box oil, fuel filter and spark plugs when i put this engine in only a couple of months ago so one less thing to do. But I will be doing oil change before putting it back in as it's just got some kak 10/40 halfords own rubbish in it just to rinse the engine out before putting the expensive decent stuff in. Think i'll be buying a new flywheel tomorrow as well... And my motorbikes in the garage on tuesday for sevice and MOT... There goes my savings! It honestly does seem no matter how much money you earn it's just never enough!
  7. Yeah I know, I would of done it myself but it being the cam-belt if anything goes wrong with it then it's their fault not mind. And the seal, well just thought i'd let them do it cause I was in a lazy mood lol I'm sure it'll be ok, i'll just have to phone them 2moro... If i'm not too hungover!
  8. Fook sake, phoned Whites up this morning and the dude went out to check and so-say they just had to finish it off then they'll call me back once it's done, oh and also told me the flywheel is slightly scuffed on the surface, whatever that means but I've still no phone call :( All they were doing was changing the cam-belt and replacing the crank seal, surely it doesn't take 2 whole days to do that, especially when the engine's already out of the car
  9. My mate Guy (dude with the other black classic) should probably be along to this as usual as well.
  10. All being well I should be along to this one... Fingers crossed
  11. Well the engine's out, and came out without too much hassle which was nice. Fingers crossed it goes back in as well. Afraid to say the mirrors were already on it when I got it, and yes the indicators do actually work on them which is nice. But i'm sure take a look on ebay and you'll be able to find M3 style mirrors pretty easily
  12. Wicked, thanks for the offer, it's nice to know if I come unstuck there's help near by Hopefully it will be all worth it in the end, it's costing me enough so it better be lol Should be taking the engine out tomorrow, or at least start to, then back in either this wkend or early nxt week. So glad i've got 2 weeks off work and another car to use!
  13. Cheers buddy if we get stuck I shall pop on here and get hold of you but hopefully it should be ok now we kinda know wot we're doing... ish lol Problems Lol had my car since Feb and have had nothing but problems, so far... New radiator, new engine, new clutch, re-wire head lights as LED's had blown, new turbo inlet pipe, complete new exhaust inc headers, down pipe and de-cat, front bumper fixed, smoothed and sprayed, new back left side sideskirt sprayed and fitted as well as that was missing. Then had to get the tracking and camber sorted as they were all over the shot so much so they had to put different bolts on the back to get them back in tolerance and the front camber was over a degree difference between the left and right! Now cam-belt and that seal next! Then I've got to sort the rear fog light out cause that's not working and also got to try and re-wire the rear wiper somehow as the control for it is non exsistant as the whole interior has been swapped for a UK model along with the gearbox and rear diff!!! Oh and the gearbox had over a litre of oil too much in it so that's been drained and replaced! Oh and I couldn't figure out why I was getting a bad back from driving it! Then i noticed the whole drivers seat was leaning quite alot towards the passenger seat.... For some unknown reason the back left bolt for the seat runner just wasn't there so that's now been sorted. So yeah she's certainly kept me busy over the past few months and will do for a few more to come I'm sure! Some times I think I would of been better off just buying a newer, more expensive scooby in the first place lol
  14. Hey peeps, just thought I'd have a little moan on here Lol But first of all sorry didn't turn up to the meet on Friday, to be fair I'd totally forgot about it but after having the car in Subaru all day as well I wasn't driving her anywhere other than home to park up # Most will know I've just put a new (well re-con) engine in, and along with that I've just had the front bumper all smoothed over and re-sprayed so she's looking great now. BUT the one thing I didn't do, but should of, while the engine was out was the cam-belt so I booked her in for last friday to get that done. Also there was a bit of a oil leak somewhere under it which I thought was coming from the gearbox so got subaru to take a look while it was in. Well I dropped it off 9am and went to pick her up at 4pm but nothing had been done and here's why.... The cam belt wasn't done because we put the front mount intercooler on BEFORE the front bumper and had left some of the jubilee clips facing the wrong way so they couldn't be undone easy and thus not being able to take the intercooler pipes off to get the cam cover off. Why is that just my luck VERY ANNOYING. Apparently they hadn't allocated enough time to remove 4 bolts and 2 screws to get the bumper off... Something which even my little sister could do in 10 minutes! And the other thing they found... the oil leak from the gearbox... it aint from the gearbox... Oh no that would be too simple... it's the crank seal cover thing leaking on back of the engine blowing oil over the gearbox and down.... £18 for a seal... £481 to fit it!?!?!?!?!?! Sod am I paying that much! So it's now parked up and awaiting me and a mate to get up there and whip the engine out ourselfs, then take it over to subaru, let them do what the need then dump it back in. I know these are bits I could fairly easily do myself but think I'll be safe and let subaru do it cause if anything goes wrong then they can sort it out lol We're slowly getting there but only 4 weeks left to get her all together and running well for the Gathering Oh and here's a quick taste of how she's looking at the mo..
  15. Afraid i won't be along to this one as I'll just be boarding the plane to Turkey
