  1. Yup I went to the local DIY shop and got some fairly decent half side sticky foam stuff which should do the trick nicely. I'm not actually repairing the boot lid..... I'm looking at getting the car fully wrapped. And as part of the wrap process they'll be taking all bumpers/lights/spoilers etc off. Hence the questions as I want to make sure it's possible for it to all be put back together again once they've got it apart. I know technically it's not really my responsibility for it but I'm VERY anal about things so need to know it can be done properly and if I can get the seals/bits to make sure everything is in place for them then I'll have peace of mind it's not been just bodged back together.
  2. Umm... Nothing is ever simple... The top spoiler seals are £8, yet the main spoiler apparently you can only get as part of a kit.. That means buying a whole new spoiler!!!! I think not! Also Prodrive advertise 19" alloys on their website for sale, yet they 'Do not stock them, nor plan on doing so'... So if you don't sell them why on earth are they on your website with a price and a order form???????? :brickwall: :brickwall: Having a really productive Monday so far
  3. That is brilliant exactly what I needed to know. Shall get onto Subaru today to order new seals. It's little details like that that would make a days job turn into a weeks job because you don't have the bits to hand to replace once you've took it apart/damaged them! Thanks very much Mark, owe you a
  4. Also while I'm thinking about it... Is the main spoiler bonded on or just bolted from factory??
  5. It's a standard factory fitted item I do believe... And it'll be going back on afterwards so won't have to worry about filling holes etc. But that was my main concern, is it bonded on from factory and not just bolted as I think it'll be a complete mare of a job to re-bond
  6. Right chaps and chapettes, got a few ideas flying around in my mind and some quite major changes on the horizon for my scooby but just wanted to see if anyone could help me with a couple of queries I've got.... Is it possible to remove the top rear spoiler on the hawkeye STI?? If so how easy/hard is it?? Also has anyone fitted a set of 19" wheels to a hawkeye?? If so what tyre size did you go for and any issues with rubbing or such like???? Any info would be greatly recieved Thanks Pez
  7. Well the scooby's in this months Impreza Idol competition, so if you've got a spare 5 minutes please click the link and drop a vote in my direction. Cheers lads n lasses Mucho luv http://www.totalcarmagazines.co.uk/wp-content/plugins/wp-photocontest/viewimg.php?img_id=72&post_id=1416&order=
  8. I've used Micheldever Tyres before on my classic and they seemed very good and got the car driving brilliantly. With the hawkeye again I drove up to powerstation. Bit of a trip but had a service done at the same time
  9. Was it a type-r??? See there's a blue one for sale on ebay at tho mo and running 467bhp from swindon!!!
  10. As most will know I sold my old black classic (which has now got bright pink wheels on it so keep a eye out around wiltshire for it!), and got myself a very loverly Hawkeye STI... Enjoy
  11. Sorry but was again at work for this
  12. On my hawkeye STI-Type UK I'm running 393bhp/470lbft and just clocked up 10,000 miles and, touch wood, reliability seems to be ok so far. Those are some pretty impressive results tho Iain... Fancy having a go at mine Lol
  13. Definately shop around for the insurance. And yeah mines £435 a year, so plus insurance you're looking at a grand a year to run... Unfortunately for me both fall at the same time so that's one expensive month for me Lol Dipsy - I did not know the 2.0 JDM twin scolls produce the same torque figures as the 2.5, that's interesting to know.
  14. Well I'm 28 and have a '57 plate STI, I'm paying £540 fully comp, all mods declard (there's quite a few) and like for like policy... Only thing is that I have to have a tracker... which was fitted from factory anyway on these. Even last year at 27 I paid the same. It was nearly £200 cheaper than my '94 classic STi! With a full decat exhaust, fuel pump, Hyperflow front mountwith cold air induction relocation I'm running 393bhp but a massive 470lbft!?! Get way much more torque with the 2.5 engine compared to 2ltr. And that's over fueling slightly so another tweek should see slightly higher figures Even with the complete Miltek exhaust system it's nowhere near as loud as my old classic at all. Fuel wise... Umm... 150miles to a full tank around town, yet on a decent run that mileage figure will easily more than double. I brought the car on 900 miles and had it for a year and has now done 8900 miles and (touch wood) the only thing that's failed is the inner cv boot on the side of the gearbox on the front right wheel.... Which was replaced free of charge as still under warrenty. I vote for the STI all day long over WRX... Nothing against the WRX at all but I know if I were to have one then every time I saw a STI drive by it would just bug me that they had the slightly better, quicker car. My line of thinking is if you can afford the best/top of the range model then why not get it! Whatever you decide tho I'm sure you won't regret it... But do make sure it has FULL service history with it
  15. Same issue withmy old classic, in the end the plug fell out and I lost it so just got a random bolt with plenty of lock-tight on it and screwed it in there, never had a problem again
  16. Gotta feel sorry for Austin Just watched it on TV, the ball bobbled just as he went to hit it and then the slip at the end of the match when he went to shoot. The amount of turf that came up from under his foot when he slipped looked like someone just used a sand wedge!!!! That pitch is a national embarrassment and needs sorting out once and for all! If only Swindon actually turned up for the first half and not wait until the 2nd to start playing football then it might of been a bit closer than it actually was. But great day out and we were sat right next door to the Millwall fans so plenty of banta Now lets look forward to a decent performance from England tonight
  17. I went with A-Plan with my STI Hawk and with all mods declared the premium was brilliant..... £200 LESS than I was paying on my '94' classic STI! And that's with the tracker obviously on the new one.
  18. Yes mate, someone's messed up there so sod it, keep the license and say nothing lol
  19. Alright for some, shower and then lay in bed for me with a few beers and get the HD on the go on the 42", job's a good 'un
  20. Lol what can I say, i'm a busy man... Even now I shouldn't be on here. I'm meant to be down town buying a torque wench and heading off for more cleaning. I think the car's only gonna get a hoover today and no more as need to be home, beer in hand for the 7pm kick off
  21. Will bring the springs, but to be honest taking the spacers out has pretty much solved the problem... Or at least it's as good as it gets without trying to swap the piston, which when I called forge it didn't sound like it was a option. It's 'dumping' at about 0.3bar which I'm sure I've read on here is what you'd recommend. But can have a play if you fancy it. Guy (who's birthday it is today).... Oh you're gonna laugh...... He text'd me this morning with news about his car. As you know it's in David Hendry getting the bottom end rebuilt due to a 'knocking' sound.... Well... Turns out the engine is sound as a pound and that there's actually a hole in the up-pipe causing the 'mechanical sounding knocking noise' (as Guy put it) Lol He's getting a new clutch fitted and sort a couple of oil leaks and some new plugs instead. So he should be along as well
