  1. That looks feckin stunning fella - powder coater required for Mr Bus!!!!! Get it done and be different. Cheers Gary
  2. Hey fella, I must admit that the 1st one is my favourite choice, we do like a wee bit anti-lag - although this doesn't do the turbo much good, depends on how much it's been used I suppose. I had it on the rally car and never had to replace the turbo in the 2 years I ran the Impreza - which cannae be bad!!! Cheers bud Gary
  3. Hi Guys, Seen these on my viewing of Pistonheads and quite liked the look of them http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1319306.htm http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1419606.htm Any thoughts??? Cheers Gary
  4. Sure does fella, cleared up my confusion anyway. Just looked wrong - must get out more!!!! Cheers Gary
  5. As per title - is this possible??? Was coming towards Glasgow today from Bearsden and this nice WRC blue classic came towards me, then I noticed the 52 plate and thought - that cannae be right!!!! Humour me with your knowledge chappies. Cheers Gary
  6. Hi Fella, I was on the road from the Edinburgh bypass to Penicuik today and seen the car in all it's glory. I presume the guy lives around that area somewhere. Maybe Nobles will know the guy if he has had servicing done on it there, contact them and ask them to pass on your details. Cheers Gary
  7. Hi All, Engine build is as follows, not sure of the power figures - but looks ok I think; New crank shaft New uprated oil pump ACL race big end and main bearings New piston rings (Pistons are genuine Subaru Forged pistons) Honed block New timing belt New Silcolene Pro R Race oil Oil filter Full set of Genuine Subaru gaskets, inc new head gasket Painted block & heads New Exedy clutch Cheers Gary
  8. Hi All, My favourite car for pure fun was my first ever sports car, it was way back in 1989 and was a trusty 1600cc twin cam Mk1 Toyoya MR2 T-bar. How I got as much fun out of a 1600 was beyond me. The STi's I have had over the last 10 years were brutal and certainly the most powerful I have driven, but for sheer smile factor in 1989 when I was 18 - this was the dogs!!! Happy times Gary
  9. Just had a reply from the guy, it's car 171 of 555 and there is the id badge on the left at the bottom of the bootlid, but not the FIA badge for some reason. Everything else seems to match up, no side skirts or rear corner spats, no rear wiper, roof vent, DCCD, Mcrae & Ringer stitched seats, 4:4 close ratio box. Should I enquire about anything else???? Cheers Gary
  10. Good point fella - I will enquire Cheers Gary
  11. Hi All, Been looking at a few cheap cars to get back behind a Subaru wheel and have found this one, does anyone know anything about the car? Advice on if I should buy would be appreciated. The info on the ad is as follows; Fully rebuil STi engine, by ourselves Powder coated inlet manifold Lightweight pulleys New Exedy clutch 4:4 close ratio box with quickshift DCCD- adjustable centre diff Intercooler water spray Brand new 'flocked' dash Roof vent Momo dished steering wheel All lightweight body pannels Converted to electric windows and Aircon Colin McRae & Nicky Grist signed seats Brand new Speedline Tourinis with brand new Lassa tyres (cost £1,200) They are wanting £4,500. Any info would be much appreciated. Cheers Gary
  12. Words cannot describe how angry and fecked off you must feel fella, I have seen the car a couple of times and loved the look. Hope you get it sorted out soon fella and you get no hassle from your insurance company. Keep the chin up as much as poss bud. Gary
  13. Hi Rich, I am sure they still give the 10% discount to us, not bought from them for a while after selling both STi's last year - give them a bash anyway. All I would say on the not spending unnecessarily part is get what you want and need - not just what you need. I bought loads for the rally car, only to go out a few months later and pay the real money to get the best parts I should have bought in the first place - false economy I think it's called. One example would be the suspension, bought AVO coilovers as I needed coilovers, price - £1,800, 3 months later bought what I wanted and needed, Proflex 3-way - £3,500 and sold the AVO's for £1,000. Net cost of Proflex = £4,300.........................£800 doon the drain!!!!! IF YER GONNA DO IT FELLA...................DO IT RIGHT. MUCH EASIER TO SELL WITH THE RIGHT BITS ON IN THE FUTURE!!!! My rally car sold as it had the right engine, gearbox and suspension. Set it apart from a fast road car that has minimal bits on that qualifies it as a rally car. Good luck fella, any other questions - jusr fire away. Cheers Gary
  14. Hi Rich, I had Scroth 6-point harnesses in the rally car and they were cracking, Sparco you can't go much wrong with either to be fair. If you can stretch the budget a little these are the ones I would go for http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/products/Pro...;pcode=SSP20012. You will also need eye bolt plates for the lap and crotch straps to hook onto http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/products/Pro...;pcode=SSP00040 and some reinforcement plates http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/products/Pro...;pcode=SSP00080, I would recommend 4 of each for the 6-point harness, the 2 for the shoulders are secured around the rollcage and do not require them. If you can't fit them to the cage for any reason remember to order 6 of each as these can also be fitted to the base of the car. You may get them cheaper on the web if you have a look, but at least this gives you an idea of what you need fella. Happy building bud Gary
  15. The car on the splaters is my old baby, I do miss her so much - boo hoo!!!!! S555 MKR where are you now - come back to daddy!!!!! Mission for 2010 - must have another Scoob.
  16. Remember everyone I said Rich would spend upwards of £20,000 on this project - I think thats a good start towards our grand total!!!! Gawn yersel Richie boy . Up the classics!!!!
  17. Hi All, Just found this on Pistonheads and had to have a wee chuckle. In top Gear talk "Some say that £65,000 has been spent on this baby, some say - where abouts????" http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/1384403.htm I think I will trade in my new Citroen Dispatch van here and say I spent £60,000 putting in a C4 WRC engine - he may give me £20k for it!!!! Theres hope for everyone out there now trying to sell theire cars - head to Parkway Cars!!! Gary
  18. Cannae believe this story, I used Scotmaps loads and they were always fine when used as a guide (As they asre meant to be used). If Mr Munro wants to blame his business demise on anything, he wants to use the same excuse everyone else does - the credit crunch!!! I feel sorry for Raymond and his business - but he doesn't need to bring down others just because he's had a bit of a downturn. The point the Mr Munro only finished "2nd" in a rally was also a joke - if he was that good and could guarantee a win every time he would be in the WRC - not the SRC (No disrespect to the SRC - I did it for a number of years and loved it. Great starting ground for youngsters and the quality clubman die-hards) Mr Sturrock I support you all the way fella - hopefully the Courts will too. Cheers Gary (Rallyfever)
  19. Whats the gadget fella??? Cheers Gary
  20. Lovin those wheels fella - glad to see someone with the balls to do it Cheers Gary
  21. What do I need, and how the hell can I get shots like that??? I have a Sony 350 at the mo with a Sigma DC 18-200mm lens. I am sure it does loads more than I have found it to do and would love to learn how to take shots like these. Cheers Gary
  22. I dont intend to go that far with it (famous last words). It'll be my track toy to begin with. Cheers for the comments lads
  23. Hi All Oh, how I remember my story like Rich's, started off as a wee project - £30k later it was a Clubman Group A rally car - sold it 5 years later for £8,000. Origional car cost me £10,000 before the £30k was thrown at it!!!!! The Motorsport money pit that has us all by the short and curly's!!!! Gearbox --- £3,500 Suspension --- £4,000 Cage --- £1,200 ECU --- £1,400 Diffs --- £2,000 Seats --- £500 Engine upgrade --- £5,000 Tyres and Wheels --- £3,500 -------------------------------------------------------and much much more!!!! Lets see how much the Rich man spends on his wee project. Hate to say it, but you would be massively cheaper buying someone elses project - or rally car!!! Here's an example and a price - see how close you get to it when yours is ready DAVE SUTTON RUN AND MAINTAINED CAR AS DRIVEN BY MARTIN ROWE IN THE PWRC. RHD N9 PRODRIVE CAR WITH ALL N10 UPGRADES, FULL STAGE 2 INTERNATIONAL CAR ON PECTEL ENGINE AND DIFF MANAGEMENT SYSTEM. HEWLAND DOG BOX AND DIFFS, OHLINS SUSPENSION, IN TARMAC SPEC. CAR IS TOTALLY MINTED AND WANTS FOR NOTHING, MUST BE THE NICEST AVAILABLE. £23,000 ONO WILL PART EX EITHER WAY. This will go for under £20k I would imagine!!! Take the restrictor off, a wee remap and you will be blazing 400 plus horses with an engine that has been built for it. Good luck fella Gary
  24. Hi Chris, Looking good fella, like the black and white look. Get some carbon footwells in there before you take it out for a thrash, I fitted a couple in the rally car and it made a massive difference to keeping the car interior clean and looking as well as it went. Cheers Gary
  25. Hi Fella, Get some pics up of this cracking wagon - it's the only way to sell it. Cheers Gary
