Euan Thorburns had a mare on stage 5 of the main event and dropped over 4 mins to the leader Bogie, I can only assume he has had an off or a puncture.

After stage 3 my wee bro is leading overall in the National event, Dougie Brydon also from Duns is in 2nd only 3.5 secs behind. http://www.tynecomp.co.uk/Results/MSA_british_11/Clark/3/current.html Go bro - keep it on the black stuff!!!! Rallyfever

rallyfever replied to rallyfever's topic in Scottish Scoobies
Hi Paul, Maybe an option, what did you replace them with? and compared to the standard do you know how much lower they would make the car front and rear? Cheers Gary -

Hi Dave, Not sourced them yet, Vivid racing seems to be the only place - just dont fancy the £50 a pop!!! Maybe the gold will stay, it's just I already have 2 in white from the rally car which I thought I might put on 1 side to see what it looks like. See what happens. Gary -
What mods for my 2006 Black Hawkeye STI
rallyfever replied to rallyfever's topic in Scottish Scoobies
Hi All, Some choice ideas there. I think getting it lowered it is a tick, tinted windows equally so, not sure about the wheels, maybe go the opposite to the popular vote and go white for something a little different, really want wrc wing wirrors, getting the perrin stiffi's, already has a front splitter - forgot to mention that in my post! maybe go for the fog light cover conversion as mine is fully blanked off at the moment. Anything you think I may have missed??? Cheers Gary -
What mods for my 2006 Black Hawkeye STI
rallyfever replied to rallyfever's topic in Scottish Scoobies
Hi Dave, I will post some pics up this weekend, the WRC mirrors I like, but can't find anywhere that does them for the Hawkeye, I have the Zun Sport upper and lower front grills on which are in chrome just now. Perrin Stiffi's are on the cards too as we spoke about at Knockhill last weekend, just need to find somewhere that sells them at a decent price. -
Hi all, Looking to make a few cosmetic mods to the Scoob, it's got a 340/340 remap, 18" Speedline Turini's, Miltek exhaust, thats about it. Any thoughts??? Gary

why are classics becoming so hard to sell
rallyfever replied to scoobywho's topic in Scottish Scoobies
Try looking at the price of fuel fella and that might give you an idea, I just bought a 2006 Hawkeye STi with a good few mods amounting to around £3,000, it has a FSSH, just had the cam belt service done, not a mark on it and fully HPi clear, bought from a main Alfa dealership with a years parts and labour warranty for under £10k. All I can say - it's a buyers market out there and it only gonna get tougher. Mind you in saying that i can see the price of a barrrel of oil coming down over the next 6-9 months - so you never know!!!! Cheers Gary -
Hi All, The discs I have on the car just now are warped and I think a new set are due, only question is - what ones to get? The wheels I have on the car just now are 18x8 Speedline Turini's. Any ideas would be much appreciated. Cheers Gary

Cheers fella, Just uploaded another pic, not of my car - but looking the same without the front splitter. Anyone who can mock up a monster energy slash or two and change the colour of the wheels - lets see what you can do. Cheers Gary
-
Finally managed to upload a pic - any takers for making the wheels lime green like the monster drink logo's? Cheers Gary
-
I seem to be having trouble uploading the pics from photobucket, not done it for a while - anyone care to remind me how it's done? Cheers Gary
-
its been that long since I loaded pics from photobucket I think I've forgotten how to do it - any help would be appreciated. Cheers Gary

Hi all, Anyone good at photoshop? I am thinking of changing the colour of my wheels to the Monster green, lime green almost, the wheels are 18 x 8 Speedline Turini's in gold at the moment, not the ones shown here. Not only this i would be adding some monster slashes down the back doors and on the bonnet, if anyone knows how to show this it would be even better so I could see what it would look like. If anyone could help it would be much appreciated. Cheers Gary

Hi Bobby, I am with Aviva for mine, £420 for a 2006 Hawkeye STi, I have hunners of NCD, live in quiteville, it's garaged - and I'm 39 which also helps. The insurance premium tax went up to 6% this year from 5% on the 4th January, it was the VAT that went up from 17.5% to 20%. Nobody ever said running a Scoob would be cheap - but the insurance world sure know how to charge. Cheers Gary

Edinburgh and Lothian's Meetings 2011
rallyfever replied to gus the bus's topic in Scottish Scoobies
Hi John, That sounds a plan, Sundays would be good for me, I think if we had a quarterly meeting that was planned well in advance people could change their existing plans if they wanted to, or at least make sure they were available moving forward. Let me know what you think and we can get the 1st one arranged. Gary -
Hi Fella, I used to have one of them as my last company car, it replaced a 330cd M-sport, mine was the 2.2 Titanium X Sport in silver, they have loads of extras and although I thought the 330 would be difficult to replace, it managed it as an overall package. Not quite as prestigious - but every bit a cracking car!!! Gary

Hi All, At last I am back in a Scoob, No4 has been bought, a 2006 Hawkeye STi in black with 340/340, all the work has been done by Powerstation UK including a full Miltek system, upgraded fuel pump, K&N filter and a couple of other nice bits including some tidy 18x8 Speedline Corse Turini Freeflowing shoes in gold, a Zun Sport grill pack, and a wee remap. I will get some pics up at the weekend, in bloody Coventry this week on a course for work so after only 1 day I have been parted with my new toy for 5 - bloody nightmare!!!! Chuffed to bits. If the tax man pulled his finger out his ass and done something about the duty we might see a hike in the prices of our cars - not the fuel, it's good for some who are just about to buy cars at a much lower than usual price, but a bloody nightmare for people like Gaz trying to sell his. The stupid thing is with Saudi now going tits up they reckon another 9p on top of the 5 the tax man is adding in April, yes that will be almost £1.50 per litre!!!! Just had a gander at the SKY news website and it doesnt make good reading, see below; The political uncertainty gripping many of the world's top oil producing nations is set to deliver a shock to UK drivers "within days". Oil traders are having to react to fast-moving developments in Libya That is according to the AA, which believes increases in the cost of oil as a result of the unrest in Libya will shortly be passed on by retailers at the petrol pump. It has traditionally taken weeks for such oil price increases to reach petrol stations. As it stands, the average price for a litre of unleaded is 128.9 pence, with diesel 134.3 pence. But on the international markets, the price of Brent Crude oil is hovering at highs not seen for well over two years at almost $110 a barrel. The oil price has risen steadily over the past two months as a result of the political turmoil in Tunisia, Yemen, then Egypt and now in Libya. Brent Crude Prices ($ per barrel) Should it reach a record $150 a barrel, as some experts claim could happen if the unrest spreads, a litre of unleaded would likely rise above 140p. It is estimated that Libya's daily output of 1.6 million barrels has already been reduced at least by 20% because of the uncertainty there. Two major foreign producers, Eni and BASF, have turned off the taps. Together they produce 350,000 barrels a day. One of the largest tribes in Eastern Libya has threatened to cut off exports from the port of Banghazi unless the violence against pro-democracy protesters stops. Another tribe, based south of the capital Tripoli, has also turned against Colonel Gadaffi's regime. The cost of filling up has soared as a result of higher oil prices and taxes Saudi Arabia has said that it could produce an extra 4 million barrels a day to make up any lost capacity and help keep prices stable. But the biggest fear is that the turmoil could spread across the Middle East and North Africa, which together produce a third of the world's oil. Brian Madderson, the chairman of RMI Petrol which represents retailers, has disputed the AA's claim that pump prices will rise within days. He told Sky News: "Following the turmoil and violence in Libya over the last couple of days Brent crude oil prices have reached $110 per barrel. "RMI Petrol predicts that this rise will filter through to petrol forecourts over the next few weeks, leading to an estimated 5 pence per litre increase by the 1st April." The two organisations clashed over petrol prices earlier this month after the AA accused fuel providers of failing to pass on falling wholesale petrol costs to motorists. However, both have agreed that freezing April's planned fuel duty increase will serve the best interests of the UK economy. I think my new Hawkeye will be a 100% weekend car and the 56mpg 320d will be doing many miles in 2011!!!! Happy motoring chappies Gary

Hi Gaz, Fingers crossed fella. Gary
-
Hi Gaz, Sad to see it go fella, but needs must as they say. To be honest I think you will struggle to shift it at the £6,000 asking price, I just bought an 06 Hawkeye STI for not a huge amount more then you're asking, it's got a few choice mods too. I may have just been lucky -but thats the state of thew market with fuel prices going up and up most are looking for high mpg cars. Good luck with the sale fella. Gary Rallyfever

Well I think that would be a grand idea Jock, whit colour is your Hawkeye - maybe you could test the water 1st then when I get mine I could make a wee purchase!!! Cheers Gary
-
Hi Guys, Anyone know where to get these in the UK at a decent price? Looking to add a couple on the new Hawkeye when I pick it up in a couple of weeks. Cheers Gary
-
Hi Fella, I e-mailed Powerstation UK yesterday to ask what work was done to the car there. Better knowing what I have before I start modding it myself. Cheers Gary
