  2. The new chip would solder into the socket on the top left of your picture. The chip IanJ has for sale would be ideal but i believe you would have to decat the downpipe to get the biggest gain from fitting it Grant
  3. As long as makes Claire and yourself happy Where as i just have this to make me happy Grant
  4. Are we now meant to be allocated a seat when we arrive and have our topics of discussion dictated to us........er news just in ......no way Jose...... By the way Claire it is the Crail calander not the Max Power calander or is the Wagon featured in that other holy grail. They way you were going on about it we were thinking the Wagon was a feature car. After scouring through the calander i could only 3 large postage stamp sized pictures of the Wagon Grant ps calander provided by Fai17 and Marc29.

  8. Can we use this thread as some sort of open thread and people can give thier opinions on what cliques they think are developing, what the hell the SLF is all about and why does a member have a signature stating "rumours are fun", they are not fun when the are derogatory and when you are on the receiving end of the rumour. I caused a rumpus a while ago with some misplaced comments about the Max Power brigade. I sent an apology to the persons i offended with my comments and in turn i recieved a reply a 3 year old would have been proud of. I tried to ease relations but was told to "Deal with it". I am dealing with it in the way i feal most comfortable Grant
  9. Got a rough idea where Ricey is coming from and i dont think it is about the run home or the run up If anyone has a problem with me and how i act while at meets plaese feel free to PM me. Grant
  10. but on that point can someone explain to me in plain english What the hell this SLF thing is all about? Grant
  11. << Pulled a handbrake turn when going to join que for the strip, did not think that would have been a problem as it was in a wide open space and there were no other cars or people close. A member of Crail staff then came over to my car and using his hands then jumper removed my racing number, only doing 3 runs for my money I did get a little upset to say the least thus resulting in a ban. The staff were then instructed that if I refuse to leave they were to use there 4x4 to push my Scooby out of the gate, Would have been very upset if that progressed. >> I think there would have been a barney if the Crail staff had carried out that threat I had a gallon a Nitro-Methanol model race car fuel in the back of the car. If said threat was carried out i am sure the gallon of fuel would been introduced to the offending 4x4 long before the 4x4 got anywhere near your Scoob. Grant FREE THE CRAIL ONE
  12. You cannot remap the actual ECU but you can fit another chip to the motherboard and the ECU will read from the information from the new chip From 93 - 96 Subaru very kindly designed a spare socket on the motherboard. This was primarily used for Grp N rally cars but can be used to fit a EPROM chip that contains another map Most common is the ScoobyECU which is a generic chip that adjusts the fuelling and ignition map to accept UK fuel grade a lot better, ups the boost to 1.1bar and gets rid of the 180kmh limter It is from 1999 that the ECU can be reflashed with new operating perameters Be worth taking the case of your ECU to see if there is any kind of chip soldered in place Another thing i found out is your exhaust's an early Apexi N1, hence the badge on dash Grant
  13. I know Chris, we keep on getting smoked by under power cars on the M8 The wee G40 went well and i bet your brother is gutted you beat his time in his car. Just need to point him in the direction, as long as he does not need to reverse, of a good LSD supplier. Grant
  14. Pleasure to meet you today and cracking shades Andy is gonna take a look at the car and give me the thumbs up or thumbs down. Got a feeling all is well as it only seems to spike on the noise front when changing from 2nd to 3rd. Pushing on heading home there was very little noise between 3rd and 5th, it was only showing some activity when giving it some coming out of 2nd into 3rd on the tighter corners. Took a small bravery pill and selected boost level 3 for the trip home and managed to get the car about 3 feet off the ground in a WRC style. I am now 90% convinced that what is showing on the Commander is just gearbox noise or the noise from the big gay dumpvalve doing its bus door impersonation. Saying this i will still wait for Andy to give it det can/wideband run before giving it death. Was very tempted to give it a run up the strip at the end but i only just got it and need to get some faith in her before side stepping the clutch at 6 grand and holding on for grim death. Nice pics Fee I like the first picture of Gumball's car and mine with the shafts of sunlight peeking through. Grant
  15. Welcome Grant
  16. << pics! Grant, your not wearing your Subaru jacket?! What's up with you?! >> Cheeky monkey. Only wear that thing when i am tinkering with the car. I tinker with the car a fair bit so hence the jacket gets worn a fair bit....... Awesome car, might be nicking some of your ideas, and crackiing pics JC Pleasure to chat away during the day with someone that could understand peak duty and airflow. Grant
  17. Car does not like to pass Shell stations at the moment Will fill up at FRB prior to meeting the rest of the lads and scare the living daylights out of the Blue rinse Brigade up the coast Grant
  18. Was considering burning £20 of fuel just to blag a free roll and bacon Weegie spirit shining through Grant
  19. A flaw in your plan would be the top up at the Shell in Glenrothes. If going straight to Crail from FRB then i would concur with your route plan but i prefer a wee top up en route to Crail. Is there still a Shell in Glenrothes? Grant
  20. Come off the M90 before Dunfermline onto A92 (signposted Glenrothes). so what are you going to do then? Thats the route i would take. Off at Cardenden then over past the police HQ to the Shell garage at Glenrothes and then onwards through Cuper to Crail
  21. Welcome Are you the gentlemen with the loverly Black STI that was at Greers place this morning I am Squirrel and the other short one was Wilky This is my car Remember and get those plastic fantastic tyrs changed as soon as possible, just ask PaulC555 how scary they are. Grant
  22. I remember seeing a decalled up new age car on the way back from the garage. I would have waved, i think i managed a side window quick wave, but you take your chances when you remove a hand from the steering wheel. Dont wanna get rid of suspension but will have to soften the seats a tad Grant
  23. Picture of the head unit to scoobydont555@yahoo.co.uk Is it a CD head unit and does it have the connector to go straight into the loom? Grant
  24. Here is how a simple oil change cost me £160 Last Saturday i bought 4L of Mobil One 15w/50 from Halfrauds for £36 and a filter from Premier for £6 On Tuesday i asked the Mobile Mechanic that services the works vans if he fancied a £50 homer doing an oil change and remove the oil cooler adapter. I told him the oil and filter were behind the drivers seat and proceeded out on my delivery run. Got a phone call at lunchtime to say that the adapter was off and the oil was changed. On the Wedensday morning, about 7ish and still in sleep mode, i gave him the money for the oil change and adaptor removal. He said that he cabled tied the old connectors out the way and that i had not left enough oilfor the job and he had to buy another 2 litres to "bring it up to the mark". being in sleep mode i did not register this statement and its implications. When i started to wake up out on my run i realised what he meant and dipped the car for oil upon my return. The booger about brand new oil is trying to find the oil residue on the stick and could not be sure of how much oil was actually in there. When giving the car some stick i was getting some knock activity on the Commander. This morning before heading down the garage i dipped the oil in the daylight and could now see it was about an inch over the full mark. I removed the intercooler pipe to find the inside coated with oily residue. AAAARRRRRGGGGGHHHHHHHHH. I had paid top doller for the best fully synthetic oil at the proper grade for my engine and to "bring it up to the mark" he used some Vauxhall multigrade. So for 3 days i had some cow muck as oil and overfilled by 50%. I think when he comes in on Tuesday i will be having a word in his shell like So i headed back to Halfrauds and purchased another 4 L of Mobil One 15w/50, a spare 1 litre and a new filter for £56 in total Now with the oil at the proper level, halfway between full and empty on the dipstick, the knock activity under load on the Commander has vitually dissappeared. Morale of the story is If you wanna it done right, do it yourself. Total bill was £146 just to change the bloody oil Grant
  25. Awesome if you wanna get airbourne at 50mph on a perfectly smooth road Dreading the run up to Crail tomorrow. Grant
