I wonder if they will have "a bear in the air"?

TBH any tint will make your car illegal. Actually a law i agree with as it is designed to stop people pulling out of junctions at night. You would drive in your shades at night would you?
That said at least warn people on a first offence. Points is a tad harsh.
5t.
I always wear my shades at night when i'm pished!

Beautifull care mate, realy nice. I still can't believe how many Scoobies there are in Aberdeen and the Shire, i never realy noticed them 'till i bought mine!

Yeah, that S80 loves sitting on the Ellon road - usually spot it tucked in at the turn off for Connon Coal on the stretch of Dual Carriageway heading from Ellon to Aberdeen - loads of folk come pinging up the hill and fly over the top of that blind crest and horse on down not realising that inconspicuos blue Volvo waiting to pull out from the junction is in fact lying in wait.
Aye, seen it there and sitting in the Cock & Bull car park.

Grey 5 Series and a dark blue Volvo S80 in Aberdeenshire at the mo.

Not really tested on performance models though. EVO mag done a fuel test and V Power was proven to give more performance on the Scoobs.
Thats what i thought, it's all i use on the RB320.

Read this in the Press and Journal today???
So-called “super-fuels” do little to help motorists, according to tests carried out by Which? Car magazine.
They do not save drivers money, do not improve a car’s performance and do not help the environment, Which? Car said.
For many drivers it was a waste of money paying over the odds for these types of fuel, its editor, Richard Headland, said.
Which? Car tested three super-fuels (Shell V-Power, Tesco Super Unleaded and BP Ultimate Diesel) against standard fuels.
It found:
Shell V-Power gave a Ford Focus 1.6 a marginal power increase. However, filling the car on this petrol for 12,000 miles will cost £115 more than using Shell’s standard petrol. Tesco Super Unleaded actually decreased the power of the Focus.
The Volkswagen Golf’s hi-tech 1.4 TSI engine responded well to Shell V-Power, but there was little to choose between super-fuels and ordinary petrol on economy and emissions.
The economy and performance of the Renault Megane 1.5 diesel were both slightly worse using BP Ultimate diesel, the super-fuel furthest from the marketing claims in the test.
Each super-fuel had only a marginal effect on the emissions of measured pollutants, seemingly putting paid to environmental claims.
There could be benefits to using super-fuels in the long term as they include detergents to improve engine longevity. However, Which? thinks any break-even point in terms of reduced repair bills could be years away.
Mr Headland said: “For many cars it’s a waste of money paying over the odds for so-called super-fuels. The standard fuels we tested were all up to the job, whether from a major fuel brand or a supermarket.
“There’s no conclusive evidence to show that super-fuels are better for your car in the long run. So in a time of high oil prices, why would you choose to pay more?”
Meanwhile, the high cost of fuel is causing more motorists to run out of petrol, the AA said today.
In recent weeks, as many as 20% of drivers have gone past, or very close to, the empty mark, with miscalculations mainly caused by drivers failing to realise how little petrol their money was now buying.
Younger drivers were most likely to run on empty, an AA/Populus poll of 12,000 AA members showed.

As an "auld mannie" who traded a very comfy BMW 5 Series for my first ever Scoobie, an RB320, i feel i can answer some of your questions -
Fuel consumption - dina make me laugh! I get about 22mpg or 240 miles from a tank on a very good day!
Servicing - my mate just paid Town and County £440 for a 30,000 mile service.
Road tax - £400 this year............
Comfort - its like bein in a empty biscuit tin with a bumble bee that is at the epicenter of an earthquake!
Fun - NOTHING ELSE I'VE DRIVEN COMES CLOSE!!!!
-
Town and County Aberdeen use Mobil 1.

I ran through a pot hole on the Aberdeen Airport road and bucled the NSF wheel on my RB320 so i took all the photo's, depth of the hole etc and contacted the council. I got a really nice reply from them with all the forms to fill in and send to their insurers (AXA) which i did very diligently. Got areply telling me to basically piss off!! Said the road fault had not been reported since they did asurvey some 3 months prior to my "accident" so they were not liable. Oh and by the way sir, if you decide to pursue this further we will launch an independant enquirey into your claim - christ i felt like a criminal...................
Oh and by the way, the tar and stone chips thing is exactly the same here in Aberdeenshire.........

I was a Casing Hand with Weatherford at the time and like some of you knew some of those that were lost - tragic for sure, such a waste. We are having a bike run to Ullapool this weekend and will have a minutes silence in respect of, and to remember those who were lost.

Aye min, the Rayban's are quality in the dark! On a serious note i did contact a company in Aberdeen to get a quote to tint the rear windows of my RB (£450 from Subaru) and when i asked if they could do the front sides as well they said sure, how dark do you want them? Now, i understand that the legalities of this is not their concern but surely they should have some morals........................
