If you do go through with the operation I might be interested in taking the rails off your hands provided they are in very good nick. ANYONE, will they fit a '06 wagon? Cheers, Steve.

If you get no other offers we'll/I'll be coming past Perth from Dundee. There's a lay-by just after you turn right at the big roundabout to head away from Perth (great directions huh?). Steve.

Hi CHAE, When I travelled to Lanark on the 16th it took me about 2 and a half hours due to traffic, accidents and lack of local knowledge. I'm reckoning on leaving 3 hours before kick-off which brings us to 11:00 with the plan to meet at Happendon. Bit earlier than I'd hoped for, but it can take a good 20+ minutes just to get around Dundee at the moment! I'm only home for the night, so I'll check back Fri/Sat to see if that suits you (anyone else joining us?) and then post a phone number or something. Just so you know, I'll be taking it pretty easy on the motorways. Cheers, Steve.

There's too many to look through so if this has been posted feel free to take it down. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hMSBNm4mmQs What a sound! Steve. EDIT: Oh yeah, and the driving is okay too

Yep, that's right. Here's the linky again. Just bought a vinyl for my wagon. Have to leave space for my rally stickers when they are available too . I can see our cars being a half second slower to 60 soon with the weight of Colin McRae (R.I.P.) tributes! Steve.

Feck. Now I've got to drive to Aberdeen with tears in my eyes! Really good job Grant. Steve.

I'm just home from Aberdeen for the night. I'm tired, hungry and work's doing my nut in so don't flame me for my question if it's dumb! Are you asking for names for the 28th, or this Saturday? If it's the memorial on the 28th you're talking about then add one place for me please. Out. PS I'll not likely be back online until this weekend.

I have a black tie around my boot lid spoiler. It's on the drivers side so the most people can see it. If I knew how I'd embroider it with Colin McRae and a Saltire. Sadly I'm not that gifted in the sewing department! Also getting funny looks from people, but I'm not sure if that's just me

Done!

No, you're not alone. Steve.

Some footage. Quite poignant I felt. http://news.sky.com/skynews/video/videopla...1284322,00.html Steve. PS was good to meet some of you. Pat on the back for getting everyone together Squiggle!

I was planning a drive today anyway, so I'll come down and join you. IMHO Mr McRae put Subaru on the map. I'm glad you guys are doing this, although I would have liked to meet you all under better circumstances. I'm about to leave Dundee and will be taking it easy, so if anyone is coming from further North watch out for me (Blue '06 wagon). I'll see you there. Steve.

It has all been said already. An inspiration to many of us, a father, a son. R.I.P. Colin and condolences to both families.

Is that really the only mods you have made? I only ask because because I have a 2.5 WRX and find it hard to believe it's possible to get those numbers from it. I don't mean I disbelieve you, but it seems unreal! If you've done anything else, please tell. If not, then I think I may be following in your footsteps. to the fuel consumption if it's that easy to get BIG numbers

Handling/braking/fuel Economy/etc
nippysweeties replied to nippysweeties's topic in Scottish Scoobies
Cheers Ac!D. Much appreciated. Not too costly either. Is it best to bang all the suspension parts on in one go, or buy a bit here and there? I still have almost 2 years warranty left, so I may have to get Subaru to fit the parts. What do you reckon? Thanks Stewart. Again, much appreciated. Have read a lot of people saying the Ferodo pads are the dogs, but never heard mention of the Pagid. I know the brand, but not with regard to Subaru. I'll do as you suggest and keep that on a back burner until all else is done. I have a feeling the pads will need replaced early'ish anyhoo judging by the amount of dust left on my wheels after a trip to Sainsbury's! Seems like good advice all round lads, so thanks -
Same weather too!

Handling/braking/fuel Economy/etc
nippysweeties replied to nippysweeties's topic in Scottish Scoobies
Inspired by the current Forester threads I thought I'd join the 'cyber' modding crowd with a new set of wheels first Can you tell I got bored quickly?! Maybe I'll finish the brakes another day... Before After Steve. -
I swore I'd not spend a penny more than necessary on this car, but I seem to be veering toward the slippery slope that leads back to the gloomy pit of bankruptcy and destitution! I have a wagon and need to keep good ground clearance, reasonable comfort and reasonable fuel economy, so: 1. Seeing you guys have a huge collective knowledge can you give me ideas on whether the handling can be sharpened up at all without sacrificing everything else? Especially ground clearance. 2. Are there perfomance mods that give a little more grunt when required, but allow me to keep some fuel in the tank when I'm taking it easy in the back of beyond? I seem to have a flat spot/lumpy area around 3,000+ plus revs, so I was thinking a tune up might be an idea anyway. 3. According to other posts I read today it sounds like a pad upgrade is all I'll require for the stoppers. Am I as well to wait until the existing pads wear out, or is there a big enough difference to swap out early? The car has only done 8,800 miles so far. Thanks in advance, Steve.

Check the Google ads up top on the Scottish Scoobies home page. The second one from the left slayed me I am seeing a doctors add for postal tests on a genital disorder! EDIT: Seems to have gone back to normal ads now. Well it was funny while it lasted!

Welcome Another ex Volvo -S40 2.0 turbo- owner here! I'll look forward to seeing your replies, as I will have to get my first Subaru service at some point too. Not a very helpful post, but never mind... Steve.
